Hello friends!!!
Today I spent the day packing .. packing.. packing!!! All holding in the secret! She spent most of the day in her room on her phone and listening to music! So it was easy to get stuff done! I got all her dressing bandages and meds packed in a carry on! Added more to each of our suitcases in case something happens. I remembered to put her nursing visits on hold for the10 days! I honestly can’t believe this is happening!!!! My friend said you must be so excited for your trip … honestly yes but over the moon for her 3 years ago we were told this day would never come and we would not have her. I can still hear those words!!!! I still remember the day I wrote the post pouring my heart out to people I don’t even know. The responses I got lifted me up during my darkest days and ℹ appreciated it so much! Each of you helped me so much. Geezz still tears as I type this! Packing the suv tonight so she doesn’t see the suitcases! One more sleep

You know what they say…living well is the best revenge I am so thrilled for you to prove them all wrong. The true power of a mother’s love

Can’t wait to hear all about her reaction when she finds out!

Hello Friends!

YES .. we did the trip and she got along great! It was a complete surprise for her!!!! It melted my heart as we drove into the airport, I could see her thinking. She said, are we dropping my brother off to fly away for school. I told her no and when we got inside the airport, we told her SURPRISE you are going to Disney!!!!!! She couldn't believe it and actually cried!!! She got on the plane and never stoped smiling! We made beautiful memories. The cruise was absolutely amazing!!!! She still required a lot of rest and repositioning. On the upside her wound DID NOT get worse.. so thats a WIN! Her nurses were very happy with how well her wound looked upon our return. The wound is clean and no smell. She had no fever... the only downside is she has developed a cold. A big loose cough, I did swab her for covid and she is negative. The nurse listened and hears a few crackles in the lower right lung. Again no fever. Unfortunately her bloodwork shows some elevation, her doctor called today but I explained she has a cold and he said well glad its not the wound! Please monitor her closely and take her to emergency if required! She enjoyed wearing a special shirt everyday and dressing for dinner on the cruise ship! We REALLY enjoyed ourselves and it was great! We managed to do all her care with no issues. I am sure they thought we were running a mini hospital! I so appreciate all the love. concern nd support!

We got off a cruise as well and by the end everyone was coughing. It’s an upper respiratory virus/bacteria and not influenza, strep (I was certain it was this as her symptoms were similar) or COVID (DD14 was tested at immediate care). Just rest and hydration recommended. There is also the stomach flu and rhinovirus going around.

Thank you!!! Her nurses are like … wow you pulled this off! Most importantly her wound is stable, no worse! We repositioned her a lot and did her daily wound care. Definitely not easy, but we did it!

Hahahahaha... oh the bowling party! She said... my birthday gown will be perfect! She thought she would look rather silly wearing it to a bowling alley ..lol. She LOVES being a princess and definitely believes she is<3 The memories are tucked away safely <3 Thank you! It was an amazing trip!
