Feeling a little overwhelmed with planning

We leave in 25 days and I have not yet planned which days we will be in which parks with the exception of our 1st day which will be MK. I am feeling a little overwhelmed trying to figure it all out-crowd levels, when and where our ADRs are, which attractions we want to see etc. I am usually really good at planning and enjoy doing it so I'm not sure why I'm having issues. On our last trip during Spring Break 2012 I had everything planned well in advance and it worked out really well. We are staying on property this time and I'm not sure if that's what is intimidating me? I am in the school of thought that we should avoid EMH but DH wants to take advantage of them...it's making it challenging for sure. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest, maybe now I can actually try to start this process.

If you would like some help I would be glad to. Send me a message if you want help. Dates? How many in your party? Where are you staying? Meal Plan? What meals are you looking for.....breakfast?,Lunch? or dinners? age of children? etc.

Check out the June calendar on EasyWDW.com: http://www.easywdw.com/category/calendar/06-june-2013-crowd-calendar/. He ranks the parks in order of best to visit each day. This site recommends avoiding parks on EMH days because they are busier. He also has touring plans for each park. The easiest way to find them is to search "touring plans" in the search bar on the right. We followed his recommendations on our last trip and everything went very smoothly.

Aren't the people on here great? Where else would someone so happily volunteer to help a stranger like this? I like to think it's the Disney magic which makes everyone so nice!

First of all, staying onsite is so easy and should not be intimidating to you. You don't have to drive anywhere. Disney will take care of you! We moved our car once in 10 days to go to the drugstore for my eye infection.

I think I'm much better off to go with a plan rather than just going with the flow. I would run all over the place without a plan. If a park looked crowded, I'd just take off and go somewhere else and then end up getting to a park that was actually much more crowded. I don't want to waste all my time running around.

To plan your days, write down when & where each of your ADRs are. If there's an obvious place you need to be on a certain day, mark that on your calendar. For example, if you have a reservation at Chef Mickey's, even though it's not in a park, it's near MK, so you could spend time at MK that day and avoid running around too much. Build on that and make sure you have how ever many days you want in each park.

As a PP said, use easywdw.com to give you the answer on crowds and where you should probably be each day. It's free and he gives good advice. Don't obsess over it, though. If you want your first day to be MK (I would) and the crowd calendar says no, you can absolutely do it anyhow. You just need to use strategies that you used last time to make the day work for you. For example, we got to the parks just after opening and the early mornings were a great time for us to get a lot done. On the other hand, using the example above, if you have Chef Mickey's reservations and he says absolutely not to do MK that day, you could do Epcot and ride the monorail to Chef Mickey's. So, be flexible.

As far as EMH goes, I wouldn't obsess over that either. If you don't have park hoppers, plan some of your days so that you could take advantage of them if you want. If you do have PH, just swing by that park during EMH if you have another park planned for the main part of that day.

To sum up, go with a plan but be flexible. Have a great trip!

Everyone here is wonderful! I'm sorry I haven't had a moment to respond before now but thank you all for your help and offers to help:) we were still changing ADRs around as of last night but I think we have finally figured out a plan. I made DH sit down with me last night and help me figure it out. We planned out our park days for every day except Weds which we are calling our wild card day. We are going to wing it that day and just see what the day brings. We may stay at the resort and hang out, head to DTD who knows what the day will bring :). The only thing I know for certain is that we have an ADR at Coral Reef Weds at 6 pm. Thank you all again for the advice and offers of assistance. I'm certainly feeling a bit more organized than a few days ago :)
