Feelin' Hot Hot Hot in Walt Disney World (May 2010) - The Final Decision...Hmm

The Arrival Day: IN REVIEW

In this update I will be discussing my thoughts on the arrival day by stating things that were good and things that could have been done/completed more efficiently. Of course I know that not everything can be perfect, but sometimes these things can certainly be helped by others or oneself. In discussing the arrival day I am pretty sure that you can all guess what my first little 'rant' will be.

If you guessed the airline check-in, than you are correct!

The airlines that we traveled with marketed the online check-in as being time saving and efficient for guests. From past experiences, the online check-in was efficient (December 2008) which was why we decided to do it again. Thinking that it would save us time at the airport, we were fine with the airport shuttle service picking us up at 7:30am and getting us to the airport 2 hours in advance. Little did we know that the self-serve baggage drop for those passengers who did the online check-in would be just as long, if not longer than the regular check-in for passengers who did not do the online check in. When we got to the airport we only saw 1 person working the self-serve baggage drop and by that time the line up was pretty long. It was a good thing that we got in the line-up then because the next time I looked the line-up was already going down the airport airline check in area. The best part of it all was that once they finally got a few more people working the online check in counter the stopped taking people from the online check in lineup and started taking people from the regular check in lineup. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! At this point it was almost 9:30am and we still needed to clear customs and security. After hearing a travel agent say that customs was backlogged made me panic a little bit but I didn't want to show it. The incompetence of the airline was certainly shown in this case. But then again some passengers were bringing 5 suitcases for 2 people it's no wonder why the line-up was so long. If someone is offering something for free of course people are going to take advantage of it. The airline that we flew with offered 2 free checked luggage PER PERSON and 2 free carry-ons PER PERSON.

Moving past that one can only see the better in the day which of course was the checking into the resort and arriving at Walt Disney World after 1.5 years of waiting. The food was good, I mean Disney food isn't excellent but it certainly isn't bad. We really enjoyed Wishes and thought that our room was in a good location. I was just overly excited to go to a park the next day!

Overall we had an excellent day!

Lovin' your trip report and all the Poly pictures. I like that you took different perspectives - like the parking lot with the palm trees in the distance. :thumbsup2

Oh, we LOVE the smell of the Poly. It's tradition for me, my DH and our DD that everytime we walk into the GCH we take it a big deep whiff and go "ahhhhhhh". :cloud9:

I love the landscaping at the Poly - - I always tell DH that I wish we could landscape like that at home but I don't think the plants would like Indiana winters!

Is this the card holder you are talking about? We bought this a few years ago and love it - we've gotten alot of use out of it....even on beach vacations.

PolyCarrier.jpg

Thank you!!!
I think I might have annoyed my parents constantly stopping to take pictures of plants, flowers and trees as well as buildings. There was a point where we would walk to the Grand Floridian and on the way back to the Polynesian I would be so far behind my parents because I kept stopping to take pictures of the Polynesian from a distance and all the details on the way.

That is the card holder I am talking about :goodvibes! Mine is in a lime green color, and it is very handy. I am glad that I bought it because like you said you can make a lot of use out of it in other places than WDW.

I know what you mean about the landscaping. If only we could get those lovely looking and smelling flowers here. I think I would spend my whole day outside sitting by them. :lmao:

We're Planning the Next Trip!

Like many other Disney addicts and lovers we are planning our next trip to Walt Disney World even though we just came back a few days ago. The thing is we are not sure whether or not to attempt to go February 2011 or February 2012. We think for the next trip that we will be staying at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa (I will discuss the reasons why later on in the trip report). However, the time of year that we went to Walt Disney World this trip was a little inconvenient for my mom at work because it is their busiest time of the year. Due to this, we have decided to go on my reading week in February. The problem with this is the fact that my reading week always falls in the 'peak' season pricing. There would be 280 days until the trip if we were to go in February 2011, and basically what would seal the deal would be if Disney released a good discount for that time of the year. I don't think that they will because they just announced that they are going to stop doing the deep discounts starting this fall at Walt Disney World so of course that makes me sad.

For this trip in May 2010 we were able to get 40% off of our room so that certainly saved us money. I am trying to figure out possible discounts and things that we can do to lower the price of the trip. One of these things could be if we did not rent a car, but if we wanted to travel to another resort for a meal not having a rental car might make it a little more difficult to travel in a timely manner. I don't know because for my mom she said that she wants to go in 2011 but she knows that if she goes in 2011 than we will probably have to wait 2 years before we can go back again. So we can either wait 2 years until 2012 or go next year. I don't know what to say because I was calculating the prices and paying almost $600.00 a night seems a little bit ridiculous to me.

We wouldn't be doing as many parks this trip, but more relaxing this trip due to the season that we would be travelling in. What do you guys think - would you wait 2 years or go next year?

The Introduction

Now it is time to move onto the Monday our first full park day of this trip. There was not a moment on Sunday that I did not stop thinking about going to the Magic Kingdom the following day. I find that once we go to a park and go on a ride, that is when the truth sets in for me...we are truly in Walt Disney World. But before we get to the park we have a few things to discuss. That is to say I would like to give a run down of our plans for the day, just so you know what we will be doing and the places where we will be eating. Enjoy!

1. Go for a walk with mom to the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
2. Eat breakfast at the Kona Cafe
3. Ride the monorail to Magic Kingdom
4. Lunch
5. Explore the Magic Kingdom
6. Dinner at Cape May Cafe
7. Relax

We had other plans before we went on this trip for our first day at the Magic Kingdom but these plans were not carried out. This trip was all about exploring the parks and trying new and old things that we have not done for a while or ever before. These plans are rough and not time specific meaning we do what we do whenever we do it, regardless of the time.

What is your favorite place to eat at Walt Disney World?

Mmmm...breakfast at the Kona Cafe

On our morning walk to the Grand Floridian, my mom and I discussed the plans for our day at the Magic Kingdom. This trip we wanted to try the Hall of Presidents since we have never seen it in all the years that we have been going to Walt Disney World. We decided to take a walk around the main lobby of the Grand Floridian, and I spotted more cool pictures on the floor to take pictures of. I forgot where I saw the Prince Charming and Cinderella tile design, but the Chip and Mrs. Pott designs can be found on the floor directly outside the Garden View Tea room. The Mickey Mouse design can be found right infront of the main entrance to the lobby as soon as you walk in. I did not see it the night before because there was someone in a scooter sitting over top of it.

dscf0103dc.jpg

I thought that they did a great job designing the floor in this hotel. It was a very nice addition and it gives the resort a nice Disney twist. After taking more pictures of the floor we decided it was time to head back to the Polynesian where we would wait in the main lobby for my dad. After we met my dad in the lobby we would go up to the second floor for our breakfast reservation at the Kona Cafe. My dad had met us a few minutes early so we thought that we would head up to the Kona Cafe a bit early to see if we could get seated earlier. Our reservations were for 7:45am and by the time we got to the podium it was 7:30am.

For this trip we decided to make all of our dining reservations online. We changed some of our dining reservations multiple times so I had to go back and delete them. Just when I thought that I deleted these reservations apparently I was incorrect. The man at the podium told us that we had two reservations. We had originally made a reservation for the Kona Cafe at 7:30am but we changed it to 7:45am. Apparently the one at 7:30am was not deleted, even though I know that I deleted it. He said that sometimes the online system can cause glitches, and this was one of them. We went with the earlier reservation and had him cancel the 7:45am reservation.

The man gave us a pager and told us that we would have to wait a few moments before we would get seated. We didn't remember the Kona Cafe being busy early in the morning, but apparently it was. There were a few couples before us who were waiting to be seated as well. It wasn't long before we got seated on the right side of the restaurant. Our server was Jackie and she was a very nice server. This is what my family ordered during our Kona Cafe breakfast:

Mom
- Macadamia Nut Pineapple Pancakes (split with me) with sausage
- Side of Scrambled Eggs
- Kona Coffee (regular)
- Orange Juice

Dad
- French Toast with sausage
- Kona Coffee (regular)
- Pineapple Juice

Myself
- My mom and I split the Macadamia Nut Pineapple Pancakes
- Apple Juice

I do't like to eat sausage so my mom ended up having that. I found the Macadamia Nut Pineapple Pancakes to be a little too sweet for me. I like them but I'm not a big fan of them. My mom loves them and my dad enjoyed his french toast. He asked for his french toast to be well done, just because eating soggy bread is not pleasant. Overall breakfast was really nice, but I was more excited to go to the Magic Kingdom (PLEASE).

Can't believe I missed all these updates. Loving all the pics of the Poly and score for getting the LH you requested :thumbsup2

Kona breakfasts look yummy, can't wait to try it out this year, we have only ever had dinner.

Looking forward to reading about your first park day at MK :goodvibes

Thank you!
We were really happy to get a room in the Tahiti longhouse. It is such a lovely walk to the Great Ceremonial House! Kona Cafe is a nice place to eat but I think we have worn ourselves out of it for a little while :lmao:

Breakfast looks yummy(:
Love your GF pics!

Thank you!!

There's Magic In The Air

In the last update I discussed our breakfast at Kona Café. After we finished eating breakfast we walked back to our room to get ready to head to the Magic Kingdom. I double-checked what I had packed in my fanny pack to make sure that I had everything that I needed to for the day. Here was what was on my checklist:

[X] Digital Camera
[X] Digital Camera Extra Batteries
[X] Reservations, Park Hours & Extra Magic Hours list(s)
[X] Park Tickets & Hotel I.D. Card

Check, check, check and check. I had everything packed that I needed for the day so I was set to head off to the Magic Kingdom. After we had all finished up what we needed to do we headed out the door and off to the Great Ceremonial House to catch the Resort Monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Would it have been faster for us to walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center and catch the Express Monorail to the Magic Kingdom? Probably, but we just thought that it would be a little bit less busy to take the resort monorail. Once we got to the main lobby we headed up to the second floor to the monorail station where we were greeted with a long line up for the monorail. Would this crowd of people be any indication of what the crowd level would be like at the Magic Kingdom today? Maybe, we will wait and see. Instead of going onto the first monorail that stopped by the station we decided to wait for the next monorail. Rather WE didn’t decide, the monorail attendant working the station closed the gates and told us that we had to wait for the next monorail. Well the next monorail came, and we got on it but there was standing room only. See what I mean about the crowds…predictions for the crowds at the Magic Kingdom (nudge, nudge).

Our first stop on the monorail was the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa where even more people got on the already crowded monorail. Soon enough we were on our way to the next stop, the best stop, the MAGIC KINGDOM! Yes, let me be the first to say . . . Welcome to the Magic Kingdom!!!!!!

dscf0138z.jpg

It seemed as though there were a lot of people coming off of the monorails and the other transportation that services the Magic Kingdom. Of course I looked at the time and realized that the park had just opened so that was why there was so many people there. Once we got through security and the ticket gate we walked through the left tunnel and came out onto Main Street U.S.A.

dscf0139f.jpg

The music, the sights and the sounds all seemed so familiar to me. The only thing that was going through my head at this point were the words “Disney, Disney, Disney YAY!” We walked around the first part of Main Street U.S.A. which is right before you head down the main street and can see the castle in the distance. We decided to walk by the Main Street Emporium, and as we got to the corner I saw the beauty that is Cinderella’s Castle.

dscf0143vq.jpg

We decided from the Main Street U.S.A. “hub” to cut through Liberty Square to go to Frontierland.

dscf0166g.jpg

As we headed through the bridge that crosses the moat surrounding Cinderella’s Castle we noticed a difference in the crowd level. Walking through Liberty Square to Frontierland it felt like nobody was around. The reason for this, we would soon find out! We had decided beforehand that we would get a fastpass for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and then ride Splash Mountain.

dscf0146h.jpg

Well I could see Splash Mountain in the distance and it seemed like it was an empty ride. I began to get excited because I thought that the ride was going to be a walk on. So we headed on over to Big Thunder to get a fastpass which had a return time frame between 10:25am and 11:25am.

dscf0173l.jpg

After we got the fastpasses we headed back down to Splash Mountain. Of course as soon as we got close to the stand-by line we heard a cast member saying the following:

“Splash Mountain is currently closed due to technical difficulties. We do not know how long it will be down for or when it will re-open. Please come back later to check for any updates”

dscf0155e.jpg

Sadly no Splash Mountain for us it seemed like for that morning. We decided to head on back over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad but it was too early to use our fastpasses so we just went on into the stand-by line. The line up didn’t take very long, and soon enough we were screaming on a runaway mine train. I love that ride very much, but it sometimes can be a little too much for me to handle. Especially since we were in the very last row.

dscf0149j.jpg

As soon as we came off of Big Thunder we thought that maybe we should get a fastpass for Splash Mountain just incase. Well that was a disaster! Let’s see the first machine that I tried took one of my tickets and didn’t give it back. I had to ask a cast member to help me but he wasn’t very pleasant about it. It seemed like many people had the same problem as me. The next machine I tried didn’t want to give me a fastpass. I had to ask another cast member to help me, and he did – by giving me 3 fastpasses because the machine was not working properly.

Next Up: To Snack or Not to Snack in the Magic Kingdom

Yo Ho, Yo Ho A Pi...HEY Food!

Don't you just love catching people in the photos that you take? It's always funny to see their expressions - some of clear confusion and some of pure excitement. Sometimes you can never take a clear photo of something like Cinderella's Castle - no matter how hard I tried I have gotten an empty front shot of Cinderella's Castle. Maybe someday, yes someday I will, if only someday was soon.

The last time I left you all we had a little...trouble...getting the fastpasses for Splash Mountain. After the nice cast member handed me the fastpasses for Splash Mountain we decided to head on over to Adventureland. Adventureland has so many rides and is such a beautiful land, the music is lovely and the food is amazing. I cannot go one update without mentioning food see because "food" and "disney" belong in the same sentence together. Besides me getting distracted about food, let's take a peak at what we did in Adventureland!

Arrrrr me mateys! Can you guess what ride we went on first here? Well if you guessed the Magic Carpets of Aladdin you are totally...incorrect. Although someone did get a little wet from that spitting camel, not going to mention any names...:rolleyes1. I love Pirates of the Caribbean and I think my love grew even more for this ride when I saw that it was only a 5 minute wait. Yes, infact in less than 10 minutes we were singing with Jack Sparrow and watching those Pirates steal themselves some loot. After we went on Pirates of the Caribbean we searched Adventured land for some fo...FUN! Thought I was going to say food there right? Yeah well I am. We searched Adventureland for the eggroll wagon. My parents love these eggrolls. I ended up getting a sprite and a few minutes after they finished their eggrolls we went to Aloha Isle for a citrus swirl. :cloud9: I am craving one right now so I better leave this update for right now.
:lmao:

dscf0162t.jpg

dscf0160.jpg

dscf0163xt.jpg

Now that I have gotten over my Citrus Swirl craving, I can finish my Magic Kingdom trip report update. After we had finished eating our Citrus Swirl's we had decided to look around in the shops. I think that the Adventureland shops are very well themed, and I noticed the theming when we were sitting down on a rock type bench while my parents were eating their vegetable egg rolls. The one thing that I like about Disney shops is that they tend to be themed from the top of the shop building (the roof) to the floor. This theming allows the guest to still feel as though they are in the same land, and not some random out of place store.

We spent a little while looking in the shops but after we had finished we decided to head on over to explore Liberty Square. At every park in Walt Disney World there are rides and shows that we have never seen in the past 9 trips that we have taken to Walt Disney World. One of those never seen shows is the Hall of Presidents. We have always wanted to see the Hall of Presidents but it seems as though the only thing that prevented us in the past from seeing the Hall of Presidents is the fact that we were more focused on the thrill rides of the Magic Kingdom. It is sometimes so easy to over look things such as this show if you are more focused on riding the more famous rides such as Splash Mountain or Space Mountain.

We decided to try the Hall of Presidents, and as we entered the building it made me think of the American Adventure show at World Showcase in Epcot. The only thing better about the Hall of Presidents were the outfits that were on display that were worn by past presidents and first ladies. The waiting area for the Hall of Presidents was surprisingly busy, but it was no wonder why. The cast member who was waiting in the room with all the guests was telling jokes as well as asking trivia questions that were very interesting and informative. Of course being Canadian I know practically nothing about American history, so I was quite lost. But anyways, we didn't have to wait long before we were let into the theater. My overall thoughts about the Hall of Presidents was that it was something very interesting to see and I am glad that we went to it. Two thumbs up!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I never tire of seeing pictures of the GF floor :goodvibes Funny you mention the OPI nail polish! I saw it everywhere!! Several weeks before my trip I found the set on eBay...only $20 for the set :thumbsup2 And in case you are wondering, yes the silver is hard to take off!! :rotfl: I have used it in between pedicures so that she has to take it off instead of me :rotfl2:
I love all of your pictures....they are doing a good job at telling a story if that makes any sense :confused3 I like them because they are not the pictures that everyone would normally take...;)
Funny that you already booked another trip! I did too :rotfl2: Oct 23-29 again at AKV (my home resort.) I used airline miles and I have an AP so it will be a "cheap" trip for me. I am going solo which will be a first but that could change because I am sure I could find someone to tag along! :goodvibes

$20.00 for the set?!?! That's amazing!!
Thank you! I tried to take as many pictures as possible, and most while walking haha. Congratulations on your upcoming trip! You are lucky lucky! I want to go back right now :lmao:

From Screaming to Splashing, It's All Magical

It's always nice to try new things because you never know if you will find something you like, or even something that you don't like so you know for sure. To recap, something new that we tried on our first day at the Magic Kingdom for this trip would be the Hall of Presidents - and I liked it! Now of course there are the things that we have heard about and already decided that we will never go see it or ride it. Just like Stitches Great Escape, right? I mean I'm sure it's a good show/ride it's just from what I've heard it is everything that I find fascinatingly frightening. Which is why I always avoid it :goodvibes

dscf0168t.jpg

So after the Hall of Presidents we decided to go and see how long the line up for the Haunted Mansion was.

dscf0178c.jpg

Now keep in mind that up until this point the crowd level at the Magic Kingdom had gone up drastically. We thought that it wasn't going to be busy at the Magic Kingdom, but it was and crowds plus the heat make it even more angering when you get cut off or have your foot stepped on by someone who doesn't say "excuse me" or "sorry". ANYWAYS...the sign for the Haunted Mansion said that the wait time was 25 minutes.

dscf0170.jpg

I thought it was a good wait time because I knew how many people can fit into one of the "pre-show" rooms inside the Mansion. Knowing this we decided to get into the ever twisting line up. Now the last time I was at Walt Disney World I could swear that the entire line up was never covered by a red cloth type fabric/material. But apparently it was, which ended up being a plus because for the most part it blocked out the sun and the heat(ish). The line up was constantly moving, meaning that there was never a time where we actually had to stop, and if there was it was only for a few seconds. We passed through the turnstiles and entered into the non-line up portion of the ride. This is the part where you are standing by all the gravestones, oh and that creepy Madame Leota gravestone that seems to move. I knew that she opened her eyes but I never knew that she actually moved :scared1:. Eeery.

dscf0182o.jpg

We didn't have to wait here long (thankfully) before we were let into the cadaverous palace. I'm telling you I didn't remember what the Ghost Host sounded like but he sounded a lot more creepy. His voice seemed to travel through the room with a weird whisper after every word that he said. It almost reminded me of one of those creepy ghost movies or even Voldemort in Harry Potter. Remember when the Ghost Host said that the room had no windows and no doors, but there is always his way to get out? And then there is the body hanging from the ceiling. Well I use to find that scary, until I realized that it was actually a doll. The things I thought it was it wasn't :lmao:. Regardless I ended up coming off of this ride being followed home by a ghost that well...I really didn't want to be followed by :scared1:.

After we exited the Haunted Mansion and began walking towards Frontierland I could see Splash Mountain in the distance and there were logs flowing down the 5ft drop. Could it be?! Could Splash Mountain really be open? We walked closer and closer to Splash Mountain, and then we realized that it was re-opened but at first we thought the line up was a little bit too too long. Disappointed, we decided not to ride Splash Mountain just yet, and instead go look at some shops in Frontierland. In these shops they had some cute Toy Story plush toys and such. They also had a really good selection of pins! Which reminds me I don't know how I didn't buy a pin this entire trip.

dscf0147w.jpg

We thought about leaving the Magic Kingdom because it was just too busy, but instead we decided to give Splash Mountain another try. It's a good thing that we did because as soon as we entered the Fastpass line we were on the ride. Yes, while the stand-by line up was a 45 minute wait the Fastpass wait was approximately 0 minutes. Minus the time it took to walk down through the queue to the actual ride. It was a Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah ride! I sat alone in the first row and my parents sat together in the second row. Of course by sitting in the first row I ended up getting SOAKED. Now to tell you the truth my hair and my shirt did not get soaked. It seemed like all the water that hit me on Splash Mountain all went down on the front of my pants. :lmao: Yes.

After we rode Splash Mountain we decided that it was time to head out of the Magic Kingdom. But not before we did some shopping! It's nice looking at the shops on Main Street, but it would be a lot nicer if they had some unique merchandise. That is my one complaint for the day. I remember when we were in Adventureland and they were selling some Animal Kingdom merchandise. We arn't in Animal Kingdom so why sell merchandise with the Animal Kingdom name on it? Whatever happened to park unique merchandise? Stuff at one park is unique to that one park, not every single store in Walt Disney World. Oh well though, this didn't stop me from buying Walt Disney World merchandise.

Anyways, after we had finished looking through the shops on Main Street my parents decide to get a piece of fudge. I love looking at the Main Street Confectionary, but of course only for a short little while because if I spend too long in there I begin to want to buy everything in the store. So after we were finished there, we headed out of the park and walked to the Resort Monorail. We had decided beforehand that we should go and visit the Contemporary. We didn't eat lunch or anything at the Magic Kingdom because we had a big dinner buffet, and of course we wanted to be hungry for that. At the Contemporary we went to go look at the Contempo Cafe.

dscf0186g.jpg

They had some yummy looking food there, but we decided to get some french fries, water and chocolate milk as a snack.

dscf0196t.jpg

The fries were delicious and they were just enough to keep our hungry happy. Just for fun here is our ratings for the french fries at the Contempo Cafe:

Myself: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
Mom: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
Dad: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

The Contemporary is a very nice resort. I like looking at the murals that are located in the Grand Canyon Concourse. What did we do after we looked around at the Contemporary? You be the judge!

dscf0187x.jpg

dscf0183m.jpg

This will be a short little update because the dinner update will be HUGE.

After we visited the Contemporary Resort we decided to take the boat over to the Wilderness Lodge. Out of all of our trips that we have taken to Walt Disney World, we have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge twice. We have not stayed there since they have re-done their rooms, but maybe someday we will stay there again. We walked down the stairs of the Contemporary to the Convention Level and took the outside stairs down to the marina instead of walking all the way down to the main lobby and through those doors that lead to the marina. We saw a boat sitting at the marina and noticed that it was one that was traveling to the Wilderness Lodge. The boat captain saw us coming and was nice enough to wait for us. We were thrilled because we didn't have to wait in the Florida heat. Once we got to the Wilderness I immediately got that feeling of being at home. I was so excited to hear that lovely Wilderness Lodge music that you can hear as you are walking by the pool to the main lobby. That was until I didn't hear the Wilderness Lodge music but rather I heard pop music being played instead. Now I realize that some people like this music, and I do too, but there are times and places. We were going to stay at the Wilderness up until my parents heard that music. The pool at the resort is quite small, and the music they said was ANNOYING. So, that rules the Wilderness Lodge out for our next resort to stay at. We look around in the Wilderness Lodge at the food court - which of course had yummy food. Then we looked around at the shop in the Wilderness Lodge. Of course the Wilderness Lodge has some resort specific merchandise, but they also have merchandise that you can find in every single shop at Walt Disney World. If I had to choose between the Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian as my favorite resort, after visiting the Wilderness Lodge I would choose the Polynesian. We spent no more than 30 minutes at the Wilderness Lodge and we were ready to go back to the Polynesian.

Up Next: The Adventures at the Beach Club

I stayed in WL last November and I love the music they play throughout the resort! And yeah, the pool music is awful...they do that at the Beach Club too. :sad2: I wish they would only do it for an hour or two...I understand it's for the kids and everything, but they really shouldn't be doing that all day!!!! :scared1:

I love the music they play at the POP, but the WL is not the right place to play it... it ruins the atmosphere!

That kind of music does ruin the atmosphere of a resort. I mean when we were walking inside the hallway that connects the food court to the main lobby in the Wilderness Lodge all we could hear was the music - and we were not even outside. Don't get me wrong, I sometimes listen to the music they were playing at the pool but there is a time and a place.

But enough about that and let's move on to the dinner of the day. After we decided it was time to leave the Wilderness Lodge we caught the boat that took us from the Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness and from Fort Wilderness to the Contemporary. Once we got back to the Contemporary we headed up to the monorail station and took the monorail back to the Polynesian. Our dinner reservations were not until 6:05pm but we thought that with driving time and such it would take approximately 30 minutes to get there and check in so we decided to leave at 5:20pm. While waiting to leave for the Beach Club we decided to watch some Disney Channel. In Canada we don't get the Disney Channel, and instead we only get a rip off of the Disney Channel that does not play new episodes or movies.

Time passed by and finally it was 5:20pm. We walked out to the rental car and soon enough we were driving our way to the Beach Club. In the far distance I could see the Swan and Dolphin as well as the Tower of Terror. Seeing the Tower of Terror put a big smile on my face because I knew that tomorrow we would be heading to Disney's Hollywood Studios - my favorite park. Anyways, we took the correct cut offs and I could see the Tower of Terror getting closer and closer as we headed towards the Epcot Resorts Area. There is one set of stop lights that has an amazing view of the Tower of Terror - the back side of the Tower of Terror. Of course you cannot hear any screams - I'm sure that would be a bit creepy to hear people screaming as you are driving along. After approximately 15 minutes of driving we were at the Beach Club Resort. We parked the car and walked to the main lobby.

We checked into the Cape May Cafe podium and soon enough we were seated. I was excited to catch a glimpse of the oreo bon bons. I will let the pictures of the food do the speaking from this point on. Enjoy.

I had mainly salads. But there was also a macaroni and cheese that was delicious. I had more food the second time that we went to the buffet on Saturday. They had a lot of meats and seafood that didn't really interest me at all. My parents had some of them though and they did look delicious.

There was a lady who was picking out the raspberries and blueberries from the fruit mix. It took her forever and she was holding up the line :lmao:. The green stuff on the fruit is mint. Yum yummy!

I think the desserts are self explanatory. They had a berry cheesecake, a key lime tart, oreo bon bons, some sort of bread type dessert, cookies, cupcakes and lava cakes. They do change the desserts with the seasons!

After we were done with dinner, we went for a walk at the Beach Club. We ended up walking around the Boardwalk. I will post those pictures in a separate post!

Great updates, loving the Cape May pics, food looks yummy :thumbsup2

Shame about Splash being down, but at least you got three FP's for later for your troubles :)
