Hi there....just back from a great WDW vacation at AKL and BWVs, 1 bedroom standard view. This was our first DVC visit as we are associate members with parents and siblings.

Of course my children want to go back again next year (ages 8 & 3) and I can't think of staying anywhere (at least for part of the visit) that doesn't have washer/dryer and kitchen abilities.

Since we are splitting the points we family members I am not sure what points are available next year.......

-Has anyone tried the rent system....I was checking out the message board on this? Has it worked for you? It would definately be less expensive than making regular reservations to stay at either OKW or BWVs....feedback please

-What is the difference between the studios and 1 bedroom units either at OKW or BWVs? Thanks!!!!

A major difference between the studios is the bedding. At OKW you get two queen beds. At BWV you get a queen bed and a sleeper sofa.

The OKW one-bedroom is considerably larger than any other WDW one-bedroom. The washer/dryer are full size and are in their own utility room. The living room has a sleeper sofa and a love seat. Just overall more space....even the jacuzzi is bigger.

just thought i should remind you that studios will not have a washer/dryer in the room! ;)

also, a studio is basically like a hotel room that has a kitchenette. (microwave, toaster, mini-frig, wetbar)
a 1-bdrm will have a fully equipped kitchen.

we rented 2x before buying in to DVC. it's generally a good deal. it involves some work, but is usually worth it.
check the user's profile, and past posts to get a feel of the type of person they are.
good luck!

I'm not a DVC member (although I'd like to be), but I very successfully rented points for a 5 nite stay at VWL last Oct. The member we rented from was very helpful making several calls on our behalf to member services including putting us on a wait list. I feel we got a great deal on a 1 bedroom for $9 / point and no sales tax makes renting an even more attractive alternative.
