I don't have a LGMH yet (am I right that it's just a paint swatch thingie?) this is a suprirse Christmas present for our kids (ages 4 and 7) and a slightly belated anniversary celebration (2/8) for me and DH - and my MIL is coming with us. Right now we have reservatiosn at um, 5 hotels? I just can't decide! My first choice is the kids suite at hojo - but my MIL wants to be closer so we have reservations at the Camelot, too. We also have reservations at DLH but I'm realizing that as much as I'd love to stay onsite, I really don't think all 5 of us in one room is such a great idea!

yes the mickey heads, most people use something they get from home depot, a sample thing. some make their own as well. i will be making my own and i can not WAIT to do the hojo! we are in a kids suite! i dont think its bad. it is about an 8 minute walk. ACTUALLY somewhere on these threads, very recently they were discussing the distance of hotels to the actual disney gate and actually they were saying that the disney hotel walk to the gate is about the same as hojo. so maybe you can look at the post, im not sure where it is though lol. and i bet the kids will have a great time! what an awesome christmas trip!

I just booked at the GC for our Feb. stay!!! To be honest it was more than I ever want to spend on a hotel but I figured why not...we're only there for two nights so might as well go for it. For the last month I have looked at ALL of the DLR hotels and ALL of the GN hotels over and over that I think it was driving me mad! It finally boiled down to the fact that I just wanted to be in the thick of it all and want to make this trip special for the kids...(I'll use the kids as the excuse!!)

Now I'm thinking about dining...I want to surprise the fam with a memorable meal while we are there.

Hi, me, my DH and DD are heading to DL 2/24 - 2/27! For me and my 3m daughters first time (she'll be 7months when we go) and my husbands 2nd time. But so much has changed since he went, he's totally excited too. welcome! added you to our list of goers! i do have a great hotel or advice. youll also see many people like it. hojo. especially if you can get ent. rate which i dont see it available for your dates but they do update it every week or two and they MAY add your dates. even if they dont you still get a certain percent off with the card, or with a disboard discount and it seems it cant be beat. lovely hotel and service is what i hear. we are stayin there first time in feb. other than that one i dont know lol i was hooked on hojo as soon as i heard reviews on it so i threw all the others out the window lol but im sure there are plenty other people here to guide you!

I booked 6 days at the Carousel Inn and 6 day parkhoppers for 2 adults and 1 child for $1125. I thought this was a pretty good deal. I can't get HOJO for my dates so I went with this.

I hope this hotel is OK, although we only usually sleep very little and shower in our rooms while at Disney. I'm worried about the hotel as we have only stayed on property before and I like being immersed in the Disney experience but my DH is excited he won't be as immersed so it will be good for him.

It looks like it's quite close to the main gate and some quick food location, like Quizno's. I have read some good things about this hotel from other Dis'ers so I felt pretty confident booking it.

YAY alaskanmommy! im so glad you got all booked! and yes hojo is great for the ET rate if you can get it but if you cant there are some good priced places! my mom and i did stay at carousel inn several years ago, the last time i went to DL actually. it was xmas of 1999. and it was a while ago but when we stayed there it was pleasant and we both liked it. it wasnt to far from disney either. we walked every day we were there. i liked it also because, i dont know if its still there, but there was a dennys by the hotel and i loooooove dennys lol. so what days did you actually book for then? the original ones you had said!? im glad you got yourself booked!

We are booked 2/7 - 2/12!! Should be a great time!! We are also going to San Diego for 3 or 4 days before to do the Sea World and zoo thing. Anyway, I believe that I read somewhere that there is still a Denny's there which is great because my family loves Denny's!! Can't wait!

awesome! ill be at dennys then haha. and we too are going to san diego for 3 days as well. we were going to do the zoo, i grew up going there and LOVEEE it. but we didnt have enough time, it was that and cut down a day at disney but theres no way lol but we have the brookfield zoo a couple hours from us which is very large also. your trip will be great! lets all pray for minimal ride closures this year! im hopin since they are draining the river and basically taking 4 things to do out in doing so, that they are nice enough to keep all the good rides open LOL
