2026 Midwest DIS Meet

It's that time of year when I start planning camping trips for the season. I already have some of the summer booked up with week long vacations, but I'm always good for wedging in a long weekend somewhere. It has been a while since we had a Midwest Meet. I was chatting with @Part-Time Paradise about his plans and it looks like we both have the last half of August open. I know the heat can be an issue in August in the Midwest. But it is better than July.

Anyone interested in getting together again?

I don't think we are locked into the 2nd half of August. If you have another time, let us know.

[Part-Time Paradise]

@Teamubr a date we didn't talk about is the Kansas Speedway fall race. It's Sep 25-27. Even though it's close by, I'm considering camping in the dry camping area and taking off work FRI and MON.

Labor Day is also a possibility too.

Some of us are going to Hershey, PA for the RV show Sept 13-19.

Labor Day weekend would be good. Not sure about availability for a holiday weekend. Maybe worth looking at private cgs. I know the state parks and COE places around me are booked for the summer holidays already.

DW and me have a wedding in DC in the middle of August. Thought about doing some sightseeing on the way home which would essentially block out turning around and heading out the following weekend.

College football season starts Labor Day weekend and I run a half-way house on Saturdays for despondent Alabama fans/family (since Nick Saban has retired). I try to explain to them that as an Alabama fan for 48 years, I have experienced some lean times in the past. But this current generation does not know the occasional hardship that I take for granted.

Would love to hook up with you guys again (had a great time on the Marceline trip) but for us 2026 is not in the cards.
