February or April 2017?

We usually go the last week of February as that is when my school ( vacation (I'm a teacher) falls (which is nice as it is the week after President's). However we are thinking of going April break instead next year because we are always dealing with sickness in February. This February was pretty busy. How do the two months compare?

The two weeks connected to Easter are some of the busiest weeks of the year. (So the week before Easter and after Easter). We went Easter week our first trip to WDW in 2000 because we didn't know better and the crowds were miserable. We waited in 2 hour bus lines each night to get back to our hotel (CBR). I would pick February over Easter week. Since you didn't day what week in April, if Easter does NOT fall on either weekend of your planned trip, then April might be OK.

It would be the second to last week of April

Easter is the Sunday of that week in 2017, so if it were me I would go in February if crowds are a concern.

There's no such thing as a not-busy week at Disney World. (Unfortunately. I wouldn't mind going then, myself!) :)

If your break overlaps with Easter, I'd say that would be quite a bit busier than a comparatively off-week in February. I went to Disney in the week leading up to Easter several years back and found the time I was there to be pretty hoppin', and getting busier as the week went on. Not quite "bad," but definitely what I'd call busy. Someone who's gone in April more recently can probably weigh in with more recent details... What I do know is that the weather is likely to be warm (even hot!) and the Flower & Garden Festival is in April - that's always a fun little extra. There are often discounts in April, so from a financial standpoint, it's not a bad time to go. :)

ETA: I should have said that I left a few days before Easter. I'm sure the crowds got much worse that weekend, but I wasn't there to see them.

April for us, we don't have kids but my husband is a teacher & Easter week is when their Spring Break is. We go every other year & have been there on Easter Sunday several times. The parks are crowded in the afternoon each day but we are early risers so we get to the parks early while the crowds are still low & then leave around lunchtime when it starts to crowd up. We hit the pool then go back out later in the evening. The weather is perfect-the first warm weather of the season (ahhh) for us NYer's & all the flowers during the F&G Festival are an added bonus as it's usually the first color we've seen after a long gray winter.
