February 7, 2009 Western early check in!

I think Sue's name tag should say Valentine Voyager Goddess!!!! :-)

Sue you seriously do rock! thanks for everything....:flower3:

DH got day off but new policy means I am showing up with an attitude at office. Wish us luck driving on solid ice in cinci.

The good news is that next Friday, February 6 - 36 and dry!!! I hope that forecast holds.

Wow! I am finally able to see the weather for the day I leave.

10 days!!!

And I can't wait to meet you all!

Margo

Sue...thank you! I haven't been on the boards as much as some of you and the name tags will really help!

I'm looking for advice for CC. I booked the Extreme Getaway am wondering about the temp of the water. We already have parasailing booked for there and am thinking to give up the Extreme package and just relax doing whatever strikes the mood. Any words of advice?

I've been working on my packing list and I think I'll all set and just need to go down the list and get it done. So far I've got piles here, piles there and soon it's got to magically fit in the bags!

Have a great day everyone!:cheer2:

dceks, sorry I cannot remember anyone's first name without my facebook! Usually it isn't a problem booking things on CC that day. Thats what we are doing. I heard on recent cruises the water was so cold people didn't even go in the water and they had already booked snorkel stuff and couldn't get refund. Hopefully it will be much warmer for us!

I just checked the Disney Cruise site and it looks like our ship is almost at capacity. I found 3 rooms available. WOW. That's a full ship!

Thanks so much Sue, for all that you do for all of us! :flower3:

Enjoying another lovely New England day....forecast calls for about 10 inches of snow! Ugh!! Of course there is no school, so I'm not sure how much packing I'll get done today. Remind me again why I pay preschool tuition if they never have school?! :confused3

Anyway, it feels so good to know that in 4 days I will be out of here!!!! :beach: Bring on the sun and warmth!

Hi!

This was posted on the regular board. Just wanted to make sure that you all saw it....I have the DVR set....

The Magic on TV in Dry Dock

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Wednesday, January 28, the DIY network debuts a new season of Project Extreme. In the one-hour season premiere Host Matt Blashaw "helps out" at last fall's dry dock of the Disney Magic. The show is scheduled to air at 10:00pm in the Orlando area. (Check local listings for exact time.)

Just wanted to pop in and say "Hello everyone" :wave2: ! Warm thoughts to you all, especially those buried to their eyeballs in snow  DS is a little under the weather today - just a bit of a head cold, but I am trying my best to flush it out of him! I stayed home with him today to make sure the fluid and meds routine gets underway. I think we're off to a good start :thumbsup2 ! I am determined that he will be perfectly well before we leave next week - whether he likes it or not  !

Schools were cancelled here too, apparently we got a bit of ice last night (I have yet to venture outside, and probably won't until tomorrow morning so I'll just take their word for it)! At least I can use this opportunity to finish up the packing and get a head start on this weekend's laundry - see there is a silver lining ::yes:: ! Thank goodness for TV on days like this :happytv: !

Sue, you are truly awesome :worship: ! I like to think I'm pretty organized and on top of things, but my goodness, you have me beat by a mile! Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything! Three cheers for the VV Goddess!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

OK, off to the suitcases. Have a great rest of the day everyone!

That sounds really cool :-) I don't know what channel that is here, but I'll find out by tonight... I've looked at everything I can find that has ship stuff on it online, so something new to tide over my cruise obsession will be great :-)

Speaking of cruise obsessions, I just looked at all the 10-day weather forecasts for our ports... For the 6th, temps are hovering between 70 (Key West) and low 80's (GC) and winds are (so far) only at like 10 mph. The only place that had any clouds in the forecast was KW, and it was just partly cloudy (which will actually make for a prettier scene with the sunset I think!). I think the weather fairy seems to like the Valentine Voyagers so far!!! :cool1:

Oh, and here's one of those scatterbrained stories for you... I've been looking desperately for a pirate costume that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and has more material than that which would cover the surface of a Barbie Doll. DH knew this and I even had him look at some ones I had found online. Last night, he bought me one off of eBay that I think I can work with (I think I need to add a little more skirt, but other than that it covered all the right places, haha) and it was on sale. So then, this morning, he's showing me his Jack Sparrow costume that he got from someone at work and he's like "you know what-- we have a girl pirate costume in our halloween box..." Niiiiiiiice of you to let me know :-) Oh well- now I'll have two to choose from pirate:

Time to go look for another snow day! We're going for 3 in a row :cheer2:

i must agree, Sue is superwoman!! i wanna be just like her when i grow up! ;)

I refuse to grow up! I'll have to look up the DIY show when I get home tonight.

For all you space nuts, It looks as if they should know the launch date for the shuttle on the 3rd. I'm hoping it is for the 14th or even a few days after. That would be one thing I could cross off my bucket list.

Found DIY on our network :) They have an OnDemand channel too so I'm crossing my fingers that maybe they'll stick it on there too. If you go on the site, it's actually on several times over the next week... What perfect timing!!!

Jen - we're leaving from Pitt... it's the closest airport to us too. We could fly out of Morgantown but it's tiny planes and they get cancelled all the time. We're flying out Feb 7 at 6:40 AM so we're gonna go stay in Pitt the night before and leave our car at the hotel. Gotta love parksleepfly.com :goodvibes

That'll be nice to not have to drive up in the morning to meet that flight! I think you guys have about the same driving time as we do to there (yours is probably a little bit longer). I'm crabby about having to be there for a 9-ish flight... Minus two hours, minus the hour drive time = up and out the door by 6 am with two boys in tow... It's gonna be interesting! Where do you guys park your car for that? We usually have someone drive us up, but our return flight won't put us on the road going home from the airport until at least 12:30 in the morning-- didn't seem fair to put that on someone! Now I'm trying to figure out the best (and most economical) place to stash the car...

I am so enjoying this group you will never know how much. This has been the best group I have ever been in a "meet" with.

I seriously am laughing with tears in my eyes. You know the 36 hours a day stuff is about right. I was up last night until around 2 am and back up dressed and out the door by 7:30 and I generlly work until about 6pm each night if not longer. I think that one of these days, I going to see a post from Michelle at her time 4:30am and I will say hi and she is going to say wow you are up early and I going to say, nope I haven't gone to bed yet.

I just so enjoy doing all the things that I have for this group. But really, I did run out of time, I didn't make DD and my formal dresses this year. I have made one or both for the past years, but didn't this year.

So we are going to be going just a bit more casual this year with short dresses well at least one of mine and it is store bought.

Talk with you all later, gott to go tanning. Ahhhh warm booth, Ok, we have gotten a little colder here now, was down to the 30's this morning, but that is about it.

Sue, I'm the same way...I mostly am a stay at home mom (accept when I'm doing Pampered Chef shows and PTO stuff) so I don't work out of the house until 6 like you but so many times my DH will be getting up for work at 4:30 am and I haven't been to bed yet. Partly because I'm such a bad sleeper and can't get things out of my head and also because I do my best work when everyone in the house is asleep. Give me a shout out the next time your up at 4:30. There's a good chance I'll be up and you and I can then tune into Michelle's show good and early.

I'm going to make my 3rd attempt to get some sleep. Hopefully I'll get some rest.

Quick question about laundry onboard the ship - can we bring our own detergent? Is that an allowable liquid? (I'm driving not flying)

OK - night night

Hey there Dee, I'm still up, so busy at work these next couple days. We are heavy into dealing with major budget cuts 10%, plus potential work furloughs, so we are jumping though hoops with multiple versions and then I have to leave and everything has to be done during the time I'm gone, normally this doesn't happen until the end of Feb so my vacation time doesn't get in the way, and my boss is going to be gone the 1st week of Feb, to an area wide emergency operations training in Maryland,

I feel bad for him, I going to were it is going to be warm and he has to go out and get a different weight coat for the cold weather. Our heavy coats we buy here are only good for short stints of cold weather nothing long term outside and I believe they are going to be doing a lot of test drills outside.

If I handn't already had my vacation planned I would have had to go to MDfor the excercises also. A week long. I would love to go to MD, but not the 1st week of Feb and then do training outside.

I went to DC in summer between my jr and sr year of high school, so that was a veerrrrry looonnnng time ago.

Good morning,

I have been up all night, and will be for the next couple of nights. When I have a quiet moment it is nice to read your posts and dream of the cruise. In the midst of this storm it is hard to believe that we will be somewhere warm and tropical soon.

Sue - thank you for all your work. This is my first cruise and I am a relative newcomer to this group. Thank you all for being so welcoming and helpful. It would appear that any future cruise groups will have alot to live up to.

Sabrina, I couldn't drink 'ritas at 10 am either.....well I could, but it wouldn't be pretty. I can't remember the details of the dolphins. We could probably meet at the park. I'm hoping to spend sometime there or go to the neighbouring beach but I really have no idea of travel times and what is reasonably possible.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi.

Oh yes I did give in to the lure of facebook but I have absolutely nothing added....yet. It was surprisingly easy to join.

My beautification is booked for next Tuesday...unless we have to leave early to drive around lake effects snow.

Time to go back to work,
Take care all.

Marie

well?? im up waiting for all of you insomniacs!! WOOHOO! 4 am coffee on the ship?? KIDDING but chances are, i will be there.....

Hey Michelle, I'm up early too, I cannot sleep anymore with so much on my mind. I'm hoping the motion of that ship will lull me to sleep every night.!!

Dee, I don't think you can bring liquid detergent unless it's sealed up and they can tell it hasn't been open. go for the powder I guess.

UGHHH.....2 hour delay today.... great!
