oh yeah! lots of 40's on this trip, huh? well, at least we know how to celebrate in STYLE!!

would LOVE to meet up for a drink to toast our next era and anyone else who wants to meet up as well and join us!

any word on the FE exchange? is it too late for us to get in?? just got my FE!!

FE deadline is tomorrow so you just made it!

I've been 40 for a couple of years already but I'm willing to make believe I'm 40 again for a while. We have a late seating and two younger kids so I'm not sure if we could meet too late for a drink but we'd sure try!!

I am totally enjoying "Mid-Living" It's so much easier to look people in the eye and just say NO! and feel no guilt.

Lots of Birthdays on this cruise.... perhaps more incentive for the "upgrade fairy" I am so excited. And got all my FE goodies done! Now to find the "Formalwear".

Our very first 7 night cruise aboard the Magic was mainly to celebrate my 40th birthday. This year we'll be observing my 47th and the 4th time I'll have had my birthday on the ship!

I'll be celebrating my 47th on the Thursday of the week we travel and will be my 4th time celebrating my bday on the ship out of 5 the one time I didn't celebrate my bday, we celebrated my DD 21st bd...

We have an such a great group of 40 and plus celebrating.

Welcome aboard. I'll be adding you to the FE Group as well as the main listing. I have a couple edits to complete. I'll be posting the final guide lines be Thursday evening as it is our cut off date so you just made it in and welcome.

A night celebrating birthdays sounds like an excellent idea. Or maybe more than one night celebrating would be better!! We could have one night for the ones turning 40 and another night celebration for the experienced 40.'s



Kath (newbies08), if you are reading the thread, what night would work for you guys to have a celebration .... I told you I would find away to have a great celebration for him!!!

I am good for the birthday celebration as well. My birthday is at the end of Feb but it is never to early to start the celebration. I am celebrating that I am still in my 40s....but not for much longer!

This is sneaking up so fast! Got my FE's today, rethinking now how I'll fit them all in my suitcase....but I am a master at packing, so now worries.

The only thing wrong with this Bday celebration for me is we're not going to be at WDW on either of our exact Birthdays, so no free ticket from Mickey

I am so interested in making this upgrade happen! Is it just fate? Is it a dice roll? How do I get some of that fairy dust? Should I wish upon a star? HELP ME!

not only are the DH and i celebrating our 40ths, BUT DD 6 is turning 7 on Feb 26th and DD 8 turns 9 on St. Patty's day! CELEBRATIONS ABOUND!

I checked mine first thing this morning and was surprised to see we are in a different room, but no upgrade. BUT I am a goof, I just checked my new room number on the deck plans and we did get upgraded!! From cat 10 to cat 9, not huge BUT we get a porthole, I am soooo excited! Can you tell?

What did everyone else get?????

I had my monthly meeting with the Upgrade Fairy and she told me that sine we have all been such good planners and Disboarders that each and every one of us will be upgraded!!! I gave her a nice tip

Upgrades are just luck. Since all the rooms on the ship are not full they "upgrade" those of us that are already booked into the empty rooms in higher categories than we booked. Then sell our old rooms cheaper. We get the big end of the stick! Make sense?

Rub it in why don't you! I know, it's all relative, right? One good thing for me is once I turned 30 my memory has decreased each year so by the the time I reach my next few landmark ages I probably won't even remember my age or how much I hate getting older.

I'm guessing that for those who find out before sail day will scream (I mean share) it on this thread before hand so Sue could update it . For those who maybe get the upgrade at time of sailing would have to tell everyone at our DISmeet.

Which brings us to the DISmeet ...

all hands on board ...
We may have as many as 128 people if everyone comes, if even half come we still have a very large group.
I propose we meet in front of Lumière's for the space and wonderful picture location. We could have a nice picture surrounding the statue in front of the restaurant or we could arrange ourselves along one side of the beautiful staircases. Large group or not it should make for a very nice photo. Then as Brinalyn530 pointed out there is the area above the atrium with seating. We could then pair off or break off as needed/wanted and go sit and really chat.

As for time to meet ...
The drill happens from 3:30-4:15 followed by the sailaway party at 4:30 and we depart at 5pm.
How about gathering at 2:30 so we have time to set up our photo shoots and meet but still have time to get to the drill without rushing. Then we'll see and recogonize our new friends at the sail away party

And finally...how goofy would anyone like to get this DISmeet? It may be past lives as a corporate trainer,teacher or coach emerging, but is too hokey to plan an ice-breaker for our meet? A silly, yet simple, scavenger hunt where we have to gather info about each other or a fun Valentine Voyagers Cheer. People roll their eyes and maybe even run from such things but these things really do create fast bonds whether just better face and name recognition or raise comfort levels. We could even just do it for the kids if we don't have any adult takers.

So what are your recommendations for our meet location, time and possible easy activity and let's see where we end up?
