February 4th, 2012 MAGIC 7 night Western cruise

Does anyone know which evening the "Pirate Party" is usually held? I'm trying to decide which night to book Palo so I don't miss anything. Is there anything else in the evenings I shouldn't miss?

Unless it's changed, Pirate Night is on Wednesday evening on our itinerary. According to the Navigators from last March Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday evenings are the nights each dining room does it's unique menu and "show", which is most important at Animator's. As far as Palo you can also "double dip" either have dinner at Palo then go to your dining room for the show and something light or do the dining room first then Palo.

Thanks great idea, that way I don't miss anything in the dining room.

Another question: Is there a different Disney show in the theater each evening?

There is a show every evening. Sat is a welcome aboard variety show, sun may be a performance by one of the entertainers, mon should be Twice Charmed, tue, Villians, wed, is usually a movie in the big theatre, thur, Disney Dreams and fri a farewell variety show.

If you look on the frequently asked questions thread you can find Personal Navigators for the western cruise. Also some folks that just got off the magic promised to post their Navigators.

Hey Guys- When you get a chance check out the Cruise Forum. Someone from this weeks past cruise on the Magic(10/1-10/8) downloaded all the navigators, movie times, excursion info, etc. Indicated that the menus will be following- This is great stuff!!!

According to the latest Navigator posted the "Pirate Party" is day 5 on our cruise/Wednesday night-Looks like it hasn't changed.....

Hello everyone! This is my first post to this thread, and I will be on this cruise. My wife, TifffanyD and mother-in-law (cheryl046) already are posting, or at the very least lurking, on this thread. DW and I have taken several cruises in the past...this cruise will be our 7th DCL sailing, and 9th cruise overall. We've done 3 3-night cruises (2 on the Wonder and 1 on the Dream), 2 7-night Western cruises, and 1 7-night Eastern. We've also sailed NCL Epic out of Miami on a 7-night Eastern (my mother-in-law's first cruise), and a 7-night Western on Carnival Legend out of our current home town of Tampa. It's safe to say we've been hit by the cruising bug almost as hard as we've been hit by the Disney bug.

I look forward to going over the pages of chat and getting to know all of my fellow cruisers on this thread. DW & I haven't yet decided if we'll be doing the FE for this cruise, but I'm sure we have plenty of time to get that all set up. I think the only things we're pretty sure we'll try to do on this cruise are the DVC Member Meet, possibly a Palo Brunch, Dinner, and Tea. We haven't really thought of much to do excursion-wise so far. As you can see, we're no strangers to these ports, so we might look for something new to do, or possibly just hang around the port areas.

DW & I are going on a Western in just a couple of weeks (the sailing over Halloween, for my birthday), and we don't really have much planned for that one either. I think pretty much the only things we have booked are a Palo Brunch and Dinner (got shut out for tea...not sure if we'll try to book on board), and possibly going to Margaritaville to try to find the dollar we taped to the bar last time we were there.

Well, I think that's about all I have to say for now. My posts usally aren't quite as wordy, but I guess I'm feeling the need to talk to people about non-work related topics. Mondays are kinda crazy around where I work.

Hello there! Do you have any recommendations for excursions on the Western? Which ones if any have you done? Just trying to figure out which ones we would like to do...Hopefully, with the magic doing the western/eaastern again we can get some more excursion reports....

We've done excursions in 2 ports visted on this cruise, but while traveling on a different cruise line. One of the tours is the same, the one in Grand Caymen where you board a bus and drive around the island for a couple hours. You stop at 7 Mile Beach, a turtle farm, the factory/store where the Tortuga Rum Cakes are made, and Hell. That one was pretty fun, not a bad way to spend the day.

The other excersion we've done was in Cozumel, and DW & I aren't sure if it or something similar to it would be available thru DCL: it was an ATV ride thru the jungle, and stopping at various points along the way to show Mayan ruins in the area. It was fun for the most part, but DW was afraid for her life for most of the ATV portion, which dampened the fun for both of us a bit.

Been away from my computer this past week, thanks so much for the information.

I just finished paying for our cruise and am really getting excited, starting to figure out what excursions and reservations to book next. I've also decided that I'm going to do a spa treatment while on the cruise. I want to do everything just not enough time in the day to do everything.

And I went so slow that I lost the rest of the people and blazed my own trail. Woops! :scared1:

Sounds exactly like something I would do!:rotfl:

I wanted to say a quick hello to you and your husband...I am from Tampa/Brandon too. Currently living a little bit north in Dade City but I work in Tampa and was raised in Brandon where my family still live.

People!! JetBlue, Airtran, Southwest airlines all are having sale, including our travel dates!! I got our reservations - $95 each way!

Hello to you too, Cheryl and Rick. Funny enough - those are my parents' names! :)

We are originally from up North... been down here just over 3 years and loving it!

We got that deal too! Flying out of Buffalo on the Friday and staying at the Hyatt at the Orlando airport.

Could we be added to the fish extender list as well? Myself, my wife, and my son (age 7)

We are getting ready to book stuff tonight! Who is with us? :cool1:

I've been so swamped with work and busy-ness this week that I didn't make our final payment until this evening. Hopefully we'll get a confirmation from our TA and we can begin to make reservations.

Alone Time is my favorite. :lovestruc
