February 25, 2006 Western Magic Cruisers!!

We are considering switching our reservations to this date. The only thing is that my husband is really worried that the ocean will be too cold to swim in. Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks!

Each year is different. We've cruised during Feb for the last two years and had different weather each time.

In 04, it was rainy and cold in PC :umbrella: , warm in Nassau :sunny: , but we missed CC due to high winds and waves :faint: .

In 05, it was sunny and warm in PC :sunny: , and just wonderful in Nassau and CC :teeth: :flower1: . The water temp at the Family Beach was 75F (pools were 83F) :boat: .

With the routing of this cruise, I am anticipating nice weather. I think the only question mark will be CC.

 It will be my DH and I (no kids), plus another couple (friends) and their DD (12) and DS (6). Our 2nd cruise, their first. Will be making our final payment within the week and hopefully there will be some Palo reservations left for dinner & brunch! It's getting mighty cold here in WI :cold:

Welcome aboard Beaner!

It's getting cold here :cold: here in Michigan too! Glad to hear about another 6yo on the cruise. We have two boys 8 and 6. Should be a fun trip!

Rick:

I hope we have nice, warm weather as you did on last February's cruise! :flower:

I have a question for you, if you don't mind me asking ... what do our friends need to do as far as their DS (6) is concerned with the clubs and activities on board? Do they need to register him in anything beforehand? As we don't have any kids, I'm not sure, but I'd like to give them a head's up as this is their first cruise and not very knowledgeable about the whole thing. Thanks for any input you might have.

Trivia Question: What state has the most lighthouses? This question was posted at my bank today.

Once the cruise is payed in full, then they can pre-register their DS on the Disney Cruise web site once we hit 75 days out (90 days if you are a Castaway Club member). Otherwise, they can fill out the registration forms either in the terminal building prior to boarding or at the Club after boarding.

I am going to say Michigan . . . .

Rick

Thanks for the info. I will let them know.

Correct on the trivia. I wouldn't have gotten it right without some clues from the teller.

I remember seeing something about that over the summer from the Michigan Tourism group.

Do all kids get registered? I have my 4 yr old grandaughter. Am I supposed to be registering her for anything in particular, or just registering her so during the day she can go to the kids club? Man, I thought I was up on all this.... I am way NOT!!! Hahaha Karen

Karen,

You only need to register the kids if you want them to be able to go to the Club or Lab. Doing it on the web site just saves a bit a time. You can still do it once you board.

Rick

We definately will need to put her in the club here and there. I am going to figure out when my 70 days are so I can go online. Thanks for the info! Karen

Karen, I just checked and it's 75 days out, not 70. I fixed my original response. Also, if you are in a Cat 1-3, then you can book at 105 days out. Sorry for the confusion.

Rick

Hi Rick! Thanks for the checking. I will calculate 75 from the 25th and then mark it on the calendar. I also need to make my official order for my baskets and put that on my calendar too so I don't forget.
I just cannot wait!!! Thanks again and I hope we can meet. Actually, I think I may have a pic of me posted on a thread. I should find out where and then pm you and you can look it up and if you see me on the ship... you can let me know!!! First day I will be with my family wearing red t-shirts (guys) and red tank tops (girls) that say Family Reunion 2006 on them, but I don't know how long we will be keeping them on!! Let me re-word that.... we will probably change shortly after we get on board :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ... after that first family picture!!! Gotta go to work now. Once again, thanks! Karen

Last year, all us DISers got "Alien Green" Mickey paint chips from Home Depot to wear on the first day. We all met around 3:00 or so by Scoops. It gave everyone enough time to board the ship, get some food, stop by their rooms and perhaps even have a quick swim. Has to be quick because the safety drill is at 4:00 sharp.

What does everyone else think?

Rick

as long as I don't have to be creative, because I'm certainly not. A paint chip from Home Depot, now that's easy!

Donna :earboy2:

What day is the 75 day mark? Is that when all of us first timers can sign up for Palo and the spa?

Hi all! (Thanks for the heads up beaner720 for this thread!!) We are also cruising!! DH, myself,DS (17) DD (15) and DS (3). I was wondering if there is a get together or a place where all the DISers meet? It would be really nice to meet everyone!! And put faces to the names that we've been talking to all these months!! :teeth:

sorry I just read the thread about the paint chips and meeting by scoops! Cant wait to meet everyone!!

I am game!!! Knowing me, I will go to Home Depot this weekend to get themas I cannot wait to go.... I am really practically packed!!! I am SO bad!!!

Correct, when we hit 75 days out, you will be able to pre-book Palo and spa ressies. Also, you can register your kids for the Club/Lab and book Flounder's Reef ressies if needed. Plus you can book Disney shore excursions. For your next Disney Cruise, the deadline jumps up to 90 days.
