Oh my God!!! My brother and I were just talking about that! He said that there was a guy in Maintenance by that name!!! My brothers name is Dan Cribari and he works in Shipping and Receiving!! He was going to come with on the cruise with his daughter but recently went thru a divorce and he figured he'd better save his $ instead! My Dads name is Robert (Bob) Cribari. It really is "a small world after all!!" ;) LOL!!!

Hi Tracey!! I guess Kenosha got hit pretty good with the storms hope your BIL is ok!!!

Hi Holli,
I've worked with Dan for about 20 years, nice guy. We were in Amsterdam taking a tour and ran into someone that lived in Racine around the corner from where my wife grew up-indeed it's a small world.

I beleive tomarrow night is a repeat of the Disney Cruise line on the travel channel-probably a repeat but still fun to watch.

Hi everyone.
Is everyone doing fish extenders? Are we doing little gifts? I think it would be fun. Let me now if anyone want to do this.

Since this is our first cruise, I am curious about the fish extenders. I have heard a lot about them but not entirely sure what they are??? Are they just pouches with strings that are hung beside your door? If so, is there any sort of size limit or would a small docorative bag work just as well??? As I am not the sewer, I am seeing what can be done to provide my daughters the full experience as much as possible.

6 weeks tomorrow !!!!!

I don't know much about the fish extenders either. :confused3 I've seen some pictures so I could probably put one together if I tried, but with so much else going on around here, I think I'd like to go the small decorative bag route myself!! Any advice from experienced cruisers? Also what types of small gifts would you do?
Michelle

We're in. That's two so far, I think. I'd really like to get a count of people who want to do fish extenders/gifts, so I know how many gifts to come up with.

Hello to all from Sioux Falls, SD where it is NEGATIVE 5 DEGREES right now.... with windchills in the NEGATIVE TEENS!!!

We're so happy to have found this sunny, cheerful, friendly board.

I have read the majority of the posts and I'm hoping we can make some new friends on this cruise.

Please add us to the compiled list... I'm not sure of our cabin number (the in-laws made the reservations).

I'm June (39)
DH David (34)
DS Shane (8 -- 9 on 2/27 during the cruise)

We will be traveling with my in-laws:
MIL late-50's
FIL early 60's (whose birthday is ALSO 2/27).

We picked this cruise so grandpa and garndson could celebrate their birthdays on-board. This will be our son's 2nd Disney Cruise along with my in-law's 2nd cruise too. It will be our 1st Disney Cruise -- but we have cruised twice on another ship.

We would like to find some friends for our son. Being an only-child on a cruise with 4 adults -- can't be much fun.

We have costumes for the Pirate Night and we'll be dressing up.

We purchased a Prince Costume for my DH and we are having one made for our DS (since there are absolutely NO prince costumes for anyone bigger than a Toddler -- who is going to escort all the Princesses???). I may even get a princess gown... but I don't think adults are allowed to dress up that much (cuz they don't want to confuse the little ones -- have to check with Disney on that).

We are hoping to sign up for Tea with Wendy as soon as we get on the ship.

We are arriving on the 22nd and staying at the Ramada Cocoa Beach then and catching the Cocoa Beach Shuttle in the morning (I've read good things about them.)

We are taking the Conch Train on our shore excursion at Key West.

We love to take pictures and hope to get many pictures with the Characters.

We also like collecting the Disney Pins (haven't seen much about that on the board). We have many pins we are hoping to trade with Cast Members.

After the cruise -- we are heading to the airport to rent a car and go to Downtown Disney to hit some stores, go to the big McDonald's that's just off the Interstate, and also visit the International Trolley and Train Museum... We plan to take the car back to the airport when they roll up the roads -- around 1:00 am or so -- and plan to sleep at the airport until the ticket gate opens... our plane leaves around 6:00 am.

I look forward to reading more posts on the board.

Hi Gary, Jeri, June, David, Shane and family! Welcome to our friendly thread!

Consider yourselves added - here is the updated link to Post #50 - the official cruise roster!

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=18468602&postcount=50

Ontario is seeing very cold weather this weekend, especially with the wind chill factor. Definitely makes it that much more fun to look forward to boarding the Magic in just over a month!

I have to read the Fish Extender thread to get my head wrapped around it - in general it sounds like fun, but I am definitely NOT a seamstress - when I have spare time, I am online! :surfweb: I will let you know for sure, but for now count us in on the fun!

Are you doing a door sign for your door??? I have to head out to Staples / Office Depot soon and see if I can find magnetic paper...

Welcome June and family ! :goodvibes I thought it was cold in NH, but it's only in the teens here today! Making the Caribbean look better and better!

Very cool that your family will be celebrating two birthdays on the trip.

Our daughter Julia (7) likes to trade pins too, so she will probably bring hers along. It's not that big of a collection though, between the ones she has given to friends and the ones that have been lost!

We created a thread just for the kids too if your son would like to participate: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1675401 Welcome to the board.

I was out yesterday and picked up some fabric to make mine. I actually have a sewing machine and used to do some quilting (before kids!) but am really not in the mood to haul it out and be so precise! I have seen a couple people accomplish the same effect with fabric glue, so I may try that.

I did a few magnets for the door with the help of one of the very talented people on the disboard. You can see them on this page: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1645668&page=8 I may make a few more of my own before we sail. By the way I found the magnet paper at either Target or Walmart in the office supply section.

Hi all! Figured it would be easiest to compile a list of the folks who want to do fish extenders. That way we all had just one place to look to find who/how many.

Playing the fish extender (FE) game is simple: you hang an FE outside your door on your mail clip (that is shaped like a fish), and you bring a small gift to put in everyone else's FE. Gifts are usually very inexpensive, small and usually either Disney-themed, or practical, or cute or something from your home town. Glow in the dark bracelets, home-made Disney-themed magnets, miniature sewing kits, candy, personalized pencils, etc are all things that people have used for FE gifts in the past.

You can do fish extenders even if you're sewing-impaired. They can be as simple as a purchased bag hanging from your fish to as fancy as some of the creations that have been posted on the FE threads. The important thing is that it be yours, and it be capable of holding a small gift or two.

Fish Extender Roll Call:
disneytraceyl 7065
gweeptrish 6628
mastmi 2022
cdndizzylizzy 6071
jump4joy8390 6080
castawaycayley 5518
2princess_2pirates 7520
tennisgirl24 5137 and 5139
mousecruzer 7041
jmaylyn
gabeoak 5629

Very good description for the fish extenders. Should we include room numbers. Ours is 7069.

Hi gweeptrish!

Please add us to the FE list. I've been checking out some FE threads and I think it sounds like lots of fun! I saw some really easy ideas at Michael's today, like mini canvas tote bags or plain handbags that you can personalize with iron-on patches, fabric paint and glittery stuff. Do we bring just one little gift for everyone or do we bring gifts for everyone for each day (like 7 gifts for a 7-day cruise)?

See you all soon (in less than 5 weeks.....)!

Corinne :hippie:

Ok....we leave on the 21st!! Sooooo today I can say WE LEAVE IN ONE MONTH!!!!!! WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

We probably wont be doing the Fish Extender! I am not that crafty!!! :sad2: But I did manage to make a bunch of door magnets!

You don't have to be crafty to do FE, so if you change your mind let me know and I'll add you to the list.

I'm doing one gift, not one per day because frankly I can't afford 7 gifts per stateroom, nor can I spare that much luggage space. Since my DD is flying as a lap child I don't get any baggage allowance for her, but toddlers sure need a lot of stuff!

I'm gonna wait to add room numbers until 2 weeks out, to save the bother of changing them if anyone gets upgraded.

I was curious about this...is it common to get an upgrade even after room numbers have been assigned? (We picked our specific room at the time of booking.)
Michelle :)
