Wow! That is crazy your daughters go to the same school! What are the chances!?

We are snowbound here in NH yet again. School is closed today. Usually December is not very snowy at all here, but this year is a doozy! Makes me even more glad I booked the cruise to look forward to!

I wish school were closed in our district here in Mason, NH. Then I'd have help digging out the driveway. All the surrounding towns closed but ours didn't.

I got a ton of fabric to make fish extenders, assuming my dear daughter ever naps again and lets me work. If they're as simple to assemble as they look, I may be able to make some extras to share with those who can't sew.

I can't believe Mason isn't closed! And even more so I can't believe we've had two 2-hour delays and one closing all in the month of December! This is usually what it looks like in mid-February! I'm headed out to take on our driveway soon, as Megan has a doctor's appointment in Concord this afternoon. Wish me luck on the roads!

Hi everyone,

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, etc. etc.!!!!

It's exciting that our tickers are now under the 2 month mark - 1 month, 4 weeks, etc. etc.!

Who wants to start the kids' thread?

We gave our kids a present under the tree with a printout of the details of the Pirate Encounter at Grand Cayman, and they also each got their own brand-new suitcase. Then, they also received a Disney gift card to hand it at Guest Services to be able to spend while on board. I think the cruise is starting to feel real to them!!!

Have a great day!

Did they change the time of the Pirate Encounter at Grand Cayman? It now say's that the second one is at 11:45am, and the first one is at 9:30am. I thought the first one was 8:00am and the second at about 10:15. Am I crazy????? We are signed up for the second, but now think that the first one at 9:30 is not too early. Plus don't we gain an hour due to the time change?

Hi all,

I'm not sure if anyone remembers me, but I was a part of this thread early on. My husband and I booked the cruise a long time ago and for work reasons, I had to cancel. I switched positions and wasn't sure if I would have the time off.

Anyway, things seem to be looking up and we may just be booking it again. It will be a last minute thing though, which kind of has me on edge. However, I called Disney recently and there are appearantly about 20 inside staterooms left... So I have my fingers crossed. I probably won't know for another couple of weeks! I'm hoping some of you can fill me in on whether it looks like a lot of the excursions and dining times are booked up yet online... I have everything planned out in my head but nothing confirmed yet. :wizard: :scared1: My fingers are super crossed!!!

I also wanted to point out a few things that I noticed that might help you in your cruise planning........ Please forgive me if these were mentioned previously in the thread, I haven't been up to date.

- There is a Princess and Pirate Party the night before (Feb 22) and the night that the cruise ends (Mar1)! This would be awesome if you have to get in early and are worried about flights, and have some extra time to kill. I'm from Toronto and notice that there have been lots of delays this season.

- As a CAA TA, I've noticed that we have lots of good deals for the Hyatt at the airport coming up in our CAA Exclusive Getaways. One client came in and told me that we had the rate for 1/2 to 2/3 of the normal price, but this depends on the dates. Call CAA to see if it applies when you might need it.

Last of all, are there any other adults only without kids on the thread? Might be nice to meet some of you out there!

Talk to you soon... and say a prayer for me!!!!! :yay:

Hi,

We reserved the first Pirate Encounter a few weeks ago, and at that time the reservation was for 8:15 am. I just checked our reservation on the Disney website and it now says 9:30 am, ending at noon. We wanted to have some time to shop and then still get back on board in time for lunch. This will be cutting it close!!!! However, 9:30 is a bit more relaxing in terms of having time for a nice breakfast at Topsiders first, so all is good.

I did not receive any notification of the change in our itinerary. I do know that the Pirate encounter can also be booked independently - perhaps it was them that changed the options?

I think the hour gain is on Wednesday in Cozumel?

Welcome (back) misslissa! Hope things go your way and you can join us!

On another note, Julia and I will try to start a separate kids thread tonight. We haven't gotten any of our snail mail letters out yet either, but things have just been absolutely crazy around here! (Okay we started the thread. Here's the link: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1675401)

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday...let the countdown begin! :cool1:

Hi everyone. The cruise is coming up soon. Can't wait to go. Is anyone else staying at WDW before the cruise and using the disney transfers?

Oh No. They only have Balcony Cabins left on our cruise. We are booked in a 12Gty. and was hoping for a free upgrade or to purchase one at Port. Does this mean that there is very little chance of an upgrade now? I can't complain too much. We were orginally booked on a 4 day during school vacation, and switched to the 7 day non school vacation for about the same price. So I am really happy just to be on the ship.

I don't know. That is kind of what I was thinking. We booked a cat 11. I agree with you, we will just be happy to be on this ship. :yay:

Hi All,
DW(51) & myself(54) will be on the cruise as a break from Wisconsin weather-2nd cruise with Disney-look forward to seeing you all

:welcome: rav4lcrv and fellow Wisconsinite!!! I am originally from Racine and now live in Mukwonago. Small world!!! Its really nice to see someone else from WI!!!! This is also our 2nd Disney Cruise! I still have 99% of my family still in Racine!! We should try to meet up once we are on the ship! :)

Hi Holli,
Jeri & I (Gary) took the Eastern cruise for our 25th wedding aniversary in Oct. of 2001, we have DVC points so we thought it would be fun to try this one. We will probably ship all the sit down meals-don't want to rent a tux again, just be comfortable and sight see.

Hi Gary. We first cruised in 06. We did the Western the last time too and decided that we loved it so much that we would do the Western again. It is funny that we decided to do the same as you....as in we decided that we wanted this cruise to be more relaxing. We aren't going to rush to make it to every dinner and we are not bringing any formal clothes. We are spoiled though as we are staying in a suite so if we want we can just have the lobster delivered to our room. Where abouts in Racine do you live? My parents live in Franksville now but I grew up on Ohio St. Just curious!!!! :upsidedow

Hi Holli,
We bought a new condo in 2000 (I went kicking and screaming, but I love it now) located across from Pritchard Park on Durand & Ohio-close to the Regency mall.

Any thoughts on tipping? not to be cheap but last time all the waiters, maitrade, etc. got a piece of the action, since we will not be doing sit down, is it neccesary to tip all them?

Hey Gary...well I guess you will find all sorts of opinions on tipping if you check out other threads. Some feel that you should tip them whether you eat in the dining rooms or not. Others feel that if they're not eating in the dining rooms then why should you tip them?? I'm not really sure what I'm going to do as far as that goes becuz I can see both sides. :confused3 I guess if I don't go to the dining rooms at all I would still tip them something, but not the whole amount. And I would probably only leave something for the waiter and his Asst.

Ok Gary....how about that weather??? Freaky or what? Hope you and your family are ok! Well where do you work?? Maybe we have people in common? My Dad is a retired Firefighter and my brother works at All Saints.

Hi Holli,
I've been with All Saints in Mainteance for 33 years (started when I was 5), My brotherin-law works in the Lab, my sister, brother, niece all all RN's there so you can bet what is discussed at family get togethers. What is your brothers name and where in All Saints do'e he work? We were ucky with the storm, I was still at the 1320 Wisconsin ave. campus when they called a code gray so we started the Emergency generator just in case. We worked with quite a few Fire fighters during the Bob Uecker Make A Wish fishing turnament in Racine.
