So I know there are other threads that discuss groceries and such but wanted to see what other Feb WDW visitors think.

My hokie plan is to (1) pack kids snacks, breakfast bars and a few other non-heavy, non-perishable supplies in a checked bag which we may use for souvenirs on the way back and (2) order milk, fruit and bottled water through garden grocer.

I was thinking of making the garden grocer order after our first day there just in case we don't have a working refrigerator. Am I being overly worried about the frig? I'm at POR.

Also, wondered if anyone had used the brita water bottles with success? I've never tried them and wondered if I should be a little friendlier to the environment.

I do think that you are being overly worried about the frig. All refrigerators at POR have been replaced. There is no freezer portion. One flaw that I see in the plan of making the Garden Grocer after your first day there is that oftentimes GG has no openings left for delivery on day of order (& at busy times, for a second day.) Have you priced out what your order of just water, fruit & milk would cost? GG does have a $40 minimum order (before delivery charges etc.) requirement. If your order for those items meets the minimum by all means pack the breakfast bars etc. We've done some of each (packed some and placed enough (at double the price!) on our GG order to reach our minimum. Our last trip I found those Dole fruit bowls (peaches) on the GG site and ordered them for our grandson to have along with cereal in the mornings.

We used Brita water filter pitchers for years until my husband installed a reverse osmosis water filter system in our home that supplies treated water by our kitchen sink and through our refrigerator. The Brita did a pretty good job and I still use it when we drive to a vacation destination for a week or longer stay. You do need enough clearance from your water source to fill the pitcher though which you would need to keep in mind. Personally, we order bottled water at WDW. For our trip next month we'll be driving from a point further south in FL and will stop at a grocery store for water before checking into POFQ and then returning our rental car.

Any chance your renting a stroller? If so some companies will also deliver a case of water with the stroller. We rent from Kingdom and know they do. Works out great. We pack cereal and snacks and get milk at the resort store. We get fruit from the food court instead of GG. Often times we choose fruit as our dessert and save it for later.

Thanks for the tip about the total order. You are right that I would likely move my online orders to garden to make that minimum garden grocer order. Also, likely will order for delivery on the first day since it appears I am overly worrying about the frig. Thanks all!

All POR and POFQ rooms have working refrigerators now.

I haven't used the Brita bottles but I've heard great things about them. I think they pay for themselves after less than 5 uses.

I think I talked myself into getting the brita bottles for the kids as well as a small case of bottles for the adults. To be candid, buying ~$15 bottle/person may be a little more than I wanted to spend on hydration. Of course this is a drop in the bucket for the total vacation cost. What a great gimmick for the stroller/delivery company!

Even though our kids 5, 7 haven't been in a stroller in years, we are bringing our trusty light McClaren stroller with us ... come to think of it, I wonder if I will put it in a bag and check it or check it at the gate.

Have you noticed whether the price of milk at the resort store is comparable to the delivery services like garden grocer. This is our first time at WDW and I just assumed any product on resort will be marked up.

Woo Hoo! February 2014 here we come! I didn't see a thread for February 2014 already so I decided to start one. I was surprised not to see one already. My son's high school band will be marching at WDW and so we will be tagging along! I can't wait! I have been dreaming about returning to WDW and now I get to have lots of fun of actually planning a real trip instead of just an imaginary one! We will be traveling the week before President's Day. Not my ideal week to go since I expect the crowds to be big but at least we are going!!!! Anyone else? It is my family's first trip back since our 2009 summer trip. It is our first time in February and I am looking forward to not having to sweat the entire time I am at Disney!
