February 2014

I've heard the pools are heated. Well seen 1 person post that in a FB group. Can someone confirm? DD would love to swim while were there!

All Disney pools are heated to 82 degrees. The air isn't heated though so if it's really cold, it's still going to be miserable to swim.

Hi and welcome to the group! I just added you to the list.

So, what are you looking forward to the most?

The two main things I am looking forward to:

1. Excitement in my kids eyes from all the rides and characters at the park.

2. The day after the trip when I can kick back and take a break from all the planning? :woohoo:

Please someone tell me the planner in the family will enjoy the following trips ...

I love the planning! And you are right there is nothing like watching our kids eyesight up meeting their favorite characters! So special

I just can't wait to stay at the Villas at the Floridian!! I have always wanted to stay at the GF and now we get the chance to.

My daughter loves Duffy so hopefully we will get to see him again. She and I also want to do the Wilderness Explorer activity at AK.

My DD is looking forward to swimming if possible.

Right now, we are snowed in and before noon today, school has been cancelled for tomorrow due to the expected HIGH temperature of -14 degrees!

Yes, that is negative fourteen degrees as a high. This is not the wind chill temperature. With wind chill it is suppose to feel like -45 degrees!

So, I am definitely dreaming about our trip to WDW in Feb. Anything will be better than this!:beach:

I am looking forward to checking out some new restaurants and Magic Kingdom.

I have a reservation for Boma's but am considering changing it to Sanaa's. I also have Whispering Canyon reservations and O'Hana's. Of all those restaurants we have only been to O'Hana's.

That cold weather is headed our way. Guess we will get rain tomorrow and then it will get cold. Should be fun skating down our street to get to work and school!

We have an ADR at Ohana. Can't wait to try it. Also going to do Hoop Dee Doo Review, Biergarten, and Crystal Palace. We have only done CP before, the others are all new.

Right there with you MDSouth....I'm in Michigan and not looking forward to those temps tonight/tomorrow!

I think the Wilderness Explorer Activity will be something my daughter will love too! I have told her anything about it since I thought we would have a very limited time at AK. I think we are going to have more time at AK now and think this is something we will try to do! On our last trip, I created my own version of the Amazing Race for my family to complete at the World Showcase at Epcot. The kids still talk about it and loved it! I made simple activities for the kids to complete at each country, like take your picture beside the totem pole. It was a family activity that we completed together instead of competing against someone.

The Wilderness Explorer Activity sounds like it would be something similar.

If anyone is a big Amazing Race fan, I think I still have all my Word files with the clues and activities so if anyone is interested, just PM me.

KayW be careful on the ice. I think I prefer the frigid cold over ice.

I think Hoop Dee Doo would be lots of fun and the Biergarten. We are just limited in the time we have there this trip. I think the atmosphere at the Biergarten would be lots of fun but I am not sure if our family would like the food.

Take Care DT83097 and keep telling yourself that we are just a month away from Disney!!:hourglass

I am so excited about the VGF too!!! It looks like you'll be arriving as we are leaving, bummer :)

My boys are looking forward to trying the Wilderness Explorers, too! We usually don't spend a whole day at AK but I'm thinking this trip we may be there longer if they like it :)

Started the day around 53 degrees, and by dinner time it's supposed to be around 13.......with a high tomorrow of 12 :scared1: We haven't seen these low temps in years, hoping for some slightly warmer Fla. weather in 33 days!

Hopefully, everyone is staying warm and safe. I am also hoping for some pixie dust and decent weather the whole month of February when everyone here on this thread will be going.

I need to do a bit of research on the Wilderness Explorers thing. I read about it months ago before I had a trip planned and vaguely remember information about it. I need to find out where you go to sign in and start the activity. I am guessing it is something along the lines of the Kid Spots they have in Epcot.

One of my students did it in October. You get a little booklet and a map and you go to the different spots. If you complete an activity (WE call, listen to info on an animal) you earn a badge (sticker) for your book. It looked pretty fun!

Thanks for the information. We are definitely doing this!

I am super excited. I just added four days to our trip. My daughter and will be there on Feb 9 and then my husband will join us on Thursday, Feb 13'.

Magic Bands for first part of our split stay should be here today :cheer2: 29 days to go!

mdsouth, are the days you added at POFQ also? We're there the 8th-15th :)

Oh! Can I be added to this list? Our trip is from 2/22 - 3/4. We have never gone on such a long trip and I am SO excited!
