FEBRUARY 2008 WDW travelers post HERE!!!

I didn't mind the arrival part, it was the departure that I didn't like in comparison to the private service we had for our first trip. Also, with ME we have to be back the resort 3 hours before our flight. With a private service it's 2
That is a good point. In Sept 2006, DH literally had to RUN from the MK to the CR (good thing he runs 6 miles a day and half marathons) to flag down the ME bus to wait on us. Our luggage was on it as we'd left it with Bell Services to load for us while we went to the MK. Got stuck waiting for the monorail. A towncar would have been great!

What size car do they send for larger families (5 of us) and lots of luggage? Might be worth getting just for the return portion to MCO. Our flight isn't until 6pm the last night, so we'd get almost another full park day.

Suburbans, Vans, limos. We reserved a limo for our first trip (there were 8 of us that trip) and they upgraded us for free to a navigator limo on the arrival and hummerzine on the return. I believe it was around 200.

Our flight is at 7, so we'll get picked up at 5, should be a full day for us to

I know it's a little over the top but that I way I feel like I didnt forget anything

I am still trying to get over the pack what you need then take half out!!! I NEVER wear everyting I bring to Disney....but I like having the options. I don't think I could pack 1 outfit for each and then no more. I guess we will see soon enough. I have my packing done right now in the bottom of the closet. The left pile is me...the middle pile is DH>....the right pile is Carsyn.

I know we are going to have way tooo much. I have to figure out what exactly to do yet.

Normally I pack shoes to match every outfit (wore the same pair just about everyday :rolleyes1), but the first two trips I had other people with me to help out with the luggage. This is the first trip with just me and the kids so I am cutting back big time. Bringing 2 tennis shoes and 1 pair of flip flops for each one of us. I printed out the spreadsheet today will put out all the clothes tomorrow and throw em in the suitcase. That way if I feel we absolutely need anything else I have a couple of weeks to shop around.

Flosbolna- Why don't YOU tell us how to say hello and thank you in German!!! It would be perfect coming from you.

Here are a couple photos from today- we did a small study on China. We did the Zodiac calendar, found out what 'year' we were born in and how to spell(say??!) our names in Chinese. We learned about the importance of a dragon to the Chinese and why there are restaurants with "9 dragons' in thier name. Here are the Chinese lanterns we made. Chinese New year is 2/7-the year of the rat(ugghhh) but they revere them...

We also had pork/lo mein noodles (homemade)with an egg roll (frozen!)for dinner along with fortune cookies for dessert! Forgot to take a picture of that and thier calendars.

DD10 after waking...with a book in hand(always!!!).... notice the beginnings of our study on the white board...

lol:laughing: I know lots of those to!

What sorts of phrases?

Hola, como estas? - Hello, how are you?
Muchas Gracias - Thank you very much (pronounced Moo-ch-ahs)
Me llamo Sabrina - My name is Sabrina (llamo - yamo)

You could make pinatas

Wendypooh: Thanks for the mousesavers link to the transportation info. I think we're going to use ME when we arrive, but get a car service to take us back to the airport. My husband gets a little nervous about missing flights and such, so I think he'll feel much better with a private car on the return.

I'm so glad there are plenty of veterans on this thread. Even though I don't post a lot, I read everything and have learned so much.

Thank you Sabrina!! That was perfect and about all we can retain right now after the holidays!! PLUS we still have other ones to learn too. When we do Mexico, we are making paper mache maraccas, but a pinata might be easier!! We are also going to have quesadillas for dinner as I am not much of a Mexican food person(but I WILL eat a chicken quesadilla or a chicken chimichanga, but it is probably a VERY Americanized version):) .

On the other conversations going on , here is my 2 cents...
if we were flying, we'd take the advice of renting a car and not using ME. Since we are staying at a value resort, I heard that they are the last stops on the run and it takes a couple hours to get there after dropping other resort guests off. IF we were staying elsewhere, I would proabably still get a towncar or something b/c I heard they will make a stop for you at no extra fee(and we are big proponents of bringing our own snacks and waters, etc). Anyway-I am sure others know morew about that. My info is from some friends who get the towncar/van, and also from TGM and the Dis.

No problem Lori! Maracas sound like fun to!

So, I pulled out the suitcases today. Gosh those suckers are hideous:eek: . Mom bought them for me last Christmas, she said she picked that color/pattern so that they would be easy to recognize at the airport. I'm gonna post a picture of them later today so you guys can see. I have half the mind to go and buy a new set, but that would be coming out of my souvie money, so looks like I'll be rolling into POP Century with burgundy floral print suitcases:laughing:

I made the room only ressie for the 30th:woohoo: ! Kids school is closed the 1st so I figured it was ok for them to miss another day in place of the 1st.

Confirmed our Quick silver ground transportation. Still need to arrange transportation to LAX. I hate to wake up my grandparents that early to take us. (Have to be there at 6:40 a.m.) Freakin towncar rates are expensive here in L.A. I only live 9 miles from the airport and they want $144 round trip :confused3 . Seems a bit much for me. Supershuttle is only $48 (one way) so I might go that route.

Still have to do my garden grocer order. Have any of you ordered from them before?

I have not but have heard loads of great things. Tell us what you find out!
And we used the Super Shuttle from LAX to DL and back to LAX and it was fine. Took no time at all really! It was worth the money.

You are welcome!!! Hope it helped!

OK ~ we went to the Disney store today, they are having a huge 40% off sale. We got DS some gloves, a hat and a pair of sweatpants. I wanted to get a giftcard (he wanted that instead of Disney dollars) but they didn't have any......... Oh well, another reason to go back!!

I'm feeling good today - a little sore, but overall I'm good!!! I can hardly believe we've only got 28 days left!!! Whoo Hoo!!

How do subscribe to this? if anyone has and good codes for POFQ november 9-15 it would be greatly appreciated (im going with my extended family 20 people!):rotfl: :woohoo:

Hello you Hammond-ites!!! Can you help me?? Not Dis related, but do you know anything about Elmwood Park Subdivision-you seem to get a lot of house for the $$ and THAT concerns me abou the area. I know nothing of Hammond other than the college is there and my DD10 had a recital there at the Columbia Theater years ago!!
