Hello you Hammond-ites!!! Can you help me?? Not Dis related, but do you know anything about Elmwood Park Subdivision-you seem to get a lot of house for the $$ and THAT concerns me abou the area. I know nothing of Hammond other than the college is there and my DD10 had a recital there at the Columbia Theater years ago!!

We have lived in Elmwood Park for about a year now. We love it. Our home was custom built, not by Horton. We live on "the Loop". There is a seperate street with Garden Homes and there is a new section being developed now. I love my home and I couldn't ask for a better subdivision - great neighbors - many from St. Bernard. "

I happened upon this. I was googling trying to find out where they are located. It seems there are garden homes as well. I also found that they are D.R. Horton Builders and they have a website. Sorry I can't give you a personal view. I will say that for the liv. sq. it seems to be a good deal.

That is them-we went to walk through a few of thier homes and they were NICE. I am just not sure we want to move that far from church/homeschool, even though many do. Maybe I am used to these horrendous Mandeville, Covington, Abita prices!!

I can't think of a better way to start a year than to see my LSU Tigers win the championship and then head to Disney a few weeks later to spend my Mardi Gras vacation with friends and family......

Hi Lori, I would love to, but I have not figured out how to do sound files (yet), even though my Mac has a microfon built in, so I am sure I should be able to do it!! When will be your German day?

Flossbolna-you can write the word correctly, then sound it out?? would that work?? I ahve NO idea how to do that either. Plus- it doesn't have to be perfect b/c we are going to ask if we are saying it right to the interns(??) /employees that work at each country. I found out there are sooo many Chinese versions(?) that we had to choose one kind to keep it the same-mandarin. These are mini unit studies we are having fun with. I can do Germany whenever. I have no planned pattern. In fact I was going to do Mexico yesterday and we switched to the USA b/c we were having hamburgers/chips last night for the LSU game. I am trying to make our dinners to go with each country! I have a great cookbook that has recipes from different countries for kids to enjoy. We got it when we did a Olympics Unit study a few years ago.

Just heard from my AAA agent. Our final documents came in. She will be mailing them to me today. Bad news..both of my children have walking pneumonia and I lost my voice. The pneumonia isn't the worst kind but dr.'s office says it can make kiddos miserable for over 2 months if not treated. Not sure what I have..just hope it passes. On the bright side..with all the antibiotics..perhaps they will not be sick for disney trip..

Hope you all feel better soon. My kids are just now getting over their coughs and colds. I have been fighting a fever since yesterday. I say better now than on vacation.

Lillabelle0 - I had pneumonia in mid-November. I was out of work for two weeks. I could have went in for the 2nd week, but it was thanksgiving week (a short week for us), so I took off the extra days. What I found in the month following my diagnosis was that I felt ok after the 14 days of antibiotics were over (voice was back, cough lessened), I would tire very, very easily. I'd wake up fine, start the day, but then be really be craving a nap around 2:00pm!

Did they recommend your children have a follow up x-ray to be sure the infiltrates are gone?

I would say I felt 100% back to normal 4 weeks following my diagnosis

Enjoy your trip - hopefully you all will be good to go by then!!
