I've finally made plans for our excursions... what a relief!
Key West we'll just wing - we're the only ship in port that day according to a website I found so it shouldn't be hard to get tickets to the on/off trolley. I almost bought them on line but decided that since we're driving through the night to get to the ship I may be too tired - so we'll play that day by ear.
Grand Cayman we're doing a Disney Excursion - the Island Tour and Stingray City snorkle... I was going to do that one on my own but got lazy
Cozumel - I just made reservations at Nachi Cocum - I read about it here on the Dis and while it doesn't sound like as much fun as Paradise Beach for my DS who is 11 - there are supposed to be 4 or 5 other ships in port that day and I wanted to be someplace that wasn't packed with people.
Now .... I wait!
We are also booked at Nachi Cocum for the same reason - with that many boats it will be crowded and we thought this looked a little quieter. Our kids (DD 8 and DS 5) will be happy with any beach. We are staying on the boat for Grand Cayman and with respect to Key West, we will wander around rather than book a formal tour.
My heart goes out to those of you in the US Northeast with the snow. We are further North but every storm this year seems to be coming as rain or missing us completely. At this point as I look out the window it is light rain/mist with some snow formed along the edge of parking lots but otherwise bare roads and only a light dusting on the grass. I know we will get no sympathy but this is 2 winters in a row with little to no snow and warmer temperatures. It is high 30s here today which is unusual for us the end of January. My father has been living in Manhatten the last couple of years and gotten way more snow than us.
We leave 2 weeks from today for a 9 day Disney holiday before the cruise. Our documents have arrived and we are all ready to go. Not that we are getting excited or anything....

in order to save me from a search...
does anyone know when the "special" nights are? that is, formal, pirate, etc?
have I ever told you that i HATE the DIS boards search engine?
Yup, another Westfielder here! (hi Lisa! and welcome Bonnie - wonder how many more of us there will be...) I have 1 at Roosevelt, 1 at Wilson, and 1 at Christopher Academy (Jackson is THRILLED he'll have Jacob to hang out with!)
Does anyone know what the weather will be like on the trip??? I have no idea what type of clothes to pack. The last time we did this cruise it was June/July and it was scorching. I'm thinking it might be a little cooler this time, especially at night.
Has anyone done a Carribean cruise in February before?
We are looking for a few more families (late comers who missed the first FE list cut off)
I will collect and post rooms numbers ASAP
email me if interested
