FEBRUARY 14, 2009 (very early roll-call!)

This sounds fun, but I am not sure I will find a "fish extender between now and then. And the 2nd problem is as a cast memebr I dont think I will find out our cabin number till we check in. I paid for a 12, and that's what we will most lilkley get. Will that be a issue? I work at Radio Disney had have access to cute Disney tattoos and stickers from work. Do you think my lack of cabin number will be an issue?

First, fish extenders are NOT required. It is just an extra to have IF you want, but not needed. I don't have one and am not sure that I'm going to get around to making one before the cruise and I'm in the gift exchange!

I think we can work out the no cabin until embarcation issue, if we have a DIS meet and I give out the cabin numbers then. That's what I did when we were on the Med cruise. We met on the early afternoon of Day 2 at sea and I got cabin numbers then from people who were just assigned or changed. So I think it could work. Is everyone up for a DISMEET on Day 2? We do have a sea day for Day 2 don't we??

Yeah, what is the exact schedule??? :confused3

Day 1 (Sat.)-Port Canaveral, Deck Party :cool1:
Day 2 (Sun.)-
Day 3 (Mon.)-
Day 4 (Tues.)-
Day 5 (Wed.)-
Day 6 (Thurs.)-
Day 7 (Fri.)- Castaway Cay :yay:
Day 8 (Sat.)-disembarkation :(

Like when is formal night? princess: Pirate night? pirate:

We would be up for a meet, we have no kids, but will be fun to meet everyone. I can start collecting tattoos, they are from the past newer Disney movies. I can bring them that day, or it may be more fun to deliver them. whichever. I have a stack on my desk as we speak.:woohoo:

Please check over the list and let me know:
1. If you aren't on the list and you want to sign up
2. If you need to change the number of cabins you have listed
3. If you have any ideas/questions

The winter holidays are almost over and it's time to start getting ready for the cruise! :woohoo:

Hey--count us in! As long as the little gifties are SMALL, I am game. As I said before, I am already having nightmares about trying to pack for 5 people for 12 days in 4 suitcases!!! :scared1:

We have 2 cabins on deck 2 (darn category 9's, only on decks 1 &2!) for me, DH, and DS (14), DS (12), and DS (22 mo.).

I would love for the older boys to meet some other guys about their ages. The 14 y.o. is into classic rock and playing guitar 22 hours a day; they are both into skiing (downhill), video games and playing "Warhammer" (a role playing board game). They are really nice boys (I am their mother, yes, but they really are!); anybody interested in a Teen Thread? Or would PM-ing be better? I do not know what is the best way to go about this.

Thanks! I think I will make a simple, simple FE using scrapbook supplies, or look at Target in the dollar section for a cute bucket-y thing to use.

Getting EXCITED!

I have seen pictures of other DISer's using decorated paper gifts bags for FE's...easy to pack, cheap, lightweight....and perfect for last minute!

So when and where should we have a DISmeet? Let's try for something on Day 2. Are there any times that aren't going to work for people? Any place that would like to suggest we meet?

I had a DIS meet at Quiet Cove, which was nice. But kids couldn't get in, so maybe something like Promenade Lounge is better? Bring forth your good ideas!!

Hey To All The "New Peeps"! :yay:

GirzzBuzz - I'd bring forth my good ideas, but alas, I have none  . Wherever anyone wants to meet is fine by me...I'm sure I'll get the old  from my DH on this one :rotfl2: .

As for the older boys hooking up beforehand, I don't know how to go about that :confused3 Jennifer, I've got 2 13 y/o's in fact, one will turn 14 on the cruise! Both into video games big time :headache: & a bit apprehensive about going to the teen club  .

I Can't WAIT!!:yay: :woohoo:

Do I have the only DD who will be 14, Is there any more 14 year old girls? She loves the guitar, rock & video games.

Tell your DH mandatory mickey ears and lime green shirts for him -- for the whole cruise -- just because his wife agreed to show up at the DIS meet! :scared1:

Last cruise I took, I unfortunately didn't get the chance to spend a lot of time with other DISers, as I was chasing around my 2 year old trying to keep him out of trouble and out of the water. But it was still so nice to have familiar faces on the cruise. And I'm hoping I'll have more time to chat and be somewhat social on this cruise - now that both of my kids are old enough for the clubs.

So I'm thinking maybe 11am or so on Day 2. How does that sound? The good thing about the Quiet Cove is that there won't be any scheduled activities there. But bad thing is no kids.

I'm looking for some input here on where to meet... Anyone??

:rolleyes1 ...:lmao: Um, what about up on the top deck or something? or out on the front of the ship near that food troth line :rotfl2: , you know, the buffet place (where you'll find me most times of the day).

Anyone up for the 5k on the CC, if they have it this time around? I've been reading about it somewhere else on the boards...sounds too fun!

I'm headed down to WDW on Thurs. for a quick 3-nighter to do the 1/2 marathon on Sat. We're staying @ OKW, can't wait!

Can it be after brunch times. We don't have a reservation yet, but hope to get in last minute. Maybe before lunch or at lunch. A few years ago, a group I met up with all met in Parrot Cay that first day. Or topsiders has outdoor space.
But I don't know, where ever, just don't want to miss brunch if we can get in.

I'd LOVE to do the 5k on CC! Do we know if it's happening on our cruise? I think it would be great! :thumbsup2

Good luck on the marathon!!!!:cheer2:
Can't wait to hear all about it!

After brunch makes a lot of sense. What about 1pm? Is Parrot Cay open for lunch on Day 2?

So are you in the gift exchange?? If so, how many cabins?

Oh, and I have a question for SNOW WHAT: Did you figure out anything to do for your daughter's birthday on the cruise? I keep telling my DS3 that we're going on the cruise when his birthday comes, but I have no idea what can actually be done, if anything, on the cruise. He won't actually turn 4 until Feb 24, but it would be great if we could do something on the ship, as I'm not sure I'm going to have much energy to pull together much of anything on Feb 24.

Sure. We just have one cabin, it's just DH and I. No kids.
Day 2 around lunch sounds good to me. I can't wait to find stuff to bring. all small stuff of course.:)

-Participants will get small gift for each cabin signed up (not including your own cabin). So as of now, each participant would bring 16 gifts. If you still want to sign up, you can!
-As we get closer to the departure date, PM grizbuzz your cabin room.
-grizbuzz will write up a gift exchange list to distribute about a week prior to departure or at our DISMeet (are we having one?) with a list of cabins to deliver gifts to, as well as your assigned day to deliver the gifts. So that way, each day a gift or two will be waiting at your door.
-Fish extenders not required, though if you want to make/bring one, by all means do!

Do I have the only DD who will be 14, Is there any more 14 year old girls? She loves the guitar, rock & video games.

Ohhhh noooooo--not a girl who loves the guitar! My DS is too young for an onboard romance! OR offboard romance. EVER! :rotfl2: He is, oh what is the line from "A Christmas Story"..."perpetually 3 years old." Or something like that. Yes, DS has to shave (once or twice a month!) and is taller than me, but he is still a 3 year old. My sweet 3 year old.

oh, and do not show this post to anyone under the age of 25. Pinky swear?

OK NEW POST!!! :goodvibes: Should we start a new thread titled "Feb. 14 MAGIC KIDS" and let the kiddos post? And would it automatically be directly under this thread on the list? Or does anyone know how we could get it in that position? Or, seriously, any other suggestions? Buehler? Buehler? My boys are 14, 12 & 22 mo. (but don't expect too many posts from him, as typing is not his strong suit!). :lmao:

Hi all just an update, my ds17 will not be going on the cruise, he is going with his dad to wdw instead. it will be dd8 myself in one cabin, my friend and her 3 kids ds 7 dd9 dd12 in another and two more adult females in another cabin. this turned into a girls only cruise with the exception of my friends son who is 7. hopefully i will get a fish extender for outside the cabin or perhaps make one. we just returned from wdw a quick 4 night Christmas visit (never have been there at that time) and it was awesome. plan on doing it again next year. not long before it is time to sail!!
