February 13, 2011 - 7 Night Mexican Riviera Sailing on the Wonder

Hello Everyone!

Our family is flying in from Calgary, Alberta Canada just a short flight down from the freezing cold. This our third DC and loved everyone of them, we have also booked a Mediterian DC this August. Safe to say we are hooked on DC.

We fly into LAX on Feb.10 and plan on staying near Universal Stuidios, we will spend some time at Universal and of course it the Grove for some shopping.

Our family will leave LAX on February 13 at 10:45 am and travel to the ship, our plan is to do this by limo. It’s not expensive at all, we have extra room, so if you need a ride let me know!

We have 4 people in our family Carrie (41) Lorne (43) Cassidy (15) and Logan (8).

It would be great if we can chat more!

We are using american limo service 148.00 to get picked up at LAX then dropped off. this limo takes 8 passengers

This is our third cruise and first time with a Fish extender, I have searched a few threads about the fish extender protocol if you will and instead of reading thousands of posts, I thought I would toss it out to our group.

1. What are some neat FE gifts that people have rec'd?

2. Are there different gifts for the adults taking part?

3. Is there a schedule for delivering your FE gift?

4. How many times to you make a delivery?

If I have missed a question that I should have asked, please feel free to comment.

The lady that makes the FE on ebay is on holidays as of now and although she says she has time to make one for us, we don't think then we will have time to ship to Canada before we leave
I haven't used a sewing machine in 20 years, so was pretty happy when I stumbled on this post for anyone looking for a no-sew option of making the Fish Extenders.
(unfortunately, I'm not allowed to post the link because I have only posted 4 times, and you have to have posted 10 or more!?!?!)

Going out to get our fabric today! Wish me luck!

Hi everyone! We are a group of 8 coming on board as well! We are also from Canada - 3 of us are from Tillsonburg, Ontario, 3 from Windsor, Ontario and 2 from Kingston, Ontario. We are so looking forward to escaping this Canadian winter!!

Just an update. We have a room assignment # 5018. seems like a nice room. We are flying in on Feb 12 and staying at the doubletree ($81 total from priceline). I believe we will go to stone island on our own in mazatlan, Do a whale cruise through a private company in Cabo, and not to sure yet what to do in PV. We then have 3 days planned for Disneyland. Seems like a lot of time taking the boys out of school but this will be the last time since the 15yo DS will be in high school next year so we wont be taking him out any more.
I have never done a FE exchange if someone is over this or can clue me in I would be greatful. I have read some about them but this will be our first time doing one.
I am in the process of arranging transportation. I believe we are thinking about using supper Shuttle. It looks about $65 each way (x3). Still cheaper than a car.

We may also do Stone island on our own and also will have our last vacation during school as our ds who is still 14 will go to high school as well.

Just FYI I booked transport from near LAX to the port with Saferide Transport for the nine of us in a limo for $130, then we are using a 9 passenger van to get to Disneyland from the port and it was $95. Going back from Disneyland in the van is $120 I believe. About the same price as a shuttle, but private!
