LOL about God taking care of you Steph. He took care of me too but I paid a plastic surgeon to get rid of God's extra little gifts to me. Ok, so this is now two more testamonials about how great the Miraclesuit is. Maybe I'll have to just break down and buy one.
Jen.
The "Fairy Plastic Surgeon" will be paying me a visit in the next year or so. I was thinking of having the "Road Map to Cleveland" and the extra roll apron removed that my kids also blessed me with. LOL.

I have to look into how much ins will pay since my DH had open enrollment we switched. Hey if your goin to go under the knife might as well go all the way!! Do it all, baby!!

LOL, when I win the lottery, I'm getting everything fixed!

I found some shorts!!! I had to run to Sam's club today for work and just peeked through the clothes. I had been there on Sunday and didn't see them so I guess they're a new item since then. I was hoping for some denim ones but there are khaki. That's OK though because she has plenty of shirts that will go with khaki. I think we'll be fine now as far as shorts go. If I happen to find some jean shorts for her before we leave it'll just be a bonus.

They will usually come UPS. I suppose they do that so they have a tracking number on them. Don't fret though. I'm sure you'll have them any day now. Did you book through DCL or a TA?
We did it through DCL

Hi! Just found this site and I'm really enjoying it. We are going on our FIRST real cruise ever on the Magic 2-12-05. We are so excited, but I must admit I have no idea what to expect and how to be prepared. I have a thousand questions:
My daughter is just a few months shy of her 3rd birthday. Has anybody had a younger child attand the Oceanear Club? Disney said I need to check in with them on the boat to see if she can join in the fun, since they do it case by case.
What are the best excursions for a family with a toddler?
Anybody else bringing their toddler?
For those who have brought your child to Flounder's Nursery, how did you find it to be? Did your kids enjoy it?
What kind of special things do they do on Valentine's Day? I'm sure Palo(?) will be booked solid that night (as well as the nursery)!
There's many more questions, but I'll start with these. Thanks!! CAN"T WAIT TO SET SAIL!!!!!!!
Welcome, I do have little ones but not that young. DS is 4 DS is 6...1St Disney Cruise..
Steph

Welcome! Our 1st cruise with kids 7yo (will turn 8 day after cruise) DS and
9 yo DD. Sorry can't help you with the toddler questions either. People are very friendly here, so if they know something, they will share.

Wow, I just got done reading the threads from people on the Magic 1/15/05.
They were all going at it with each other. Need to visit that forum. I hope that does not happen to us. They skipped two ports. I would love to see CC but if I can't then it only gets me back on DCL again.

Okay, I have been reading all the posts and enjoying listening to all the responses. Especially Marks. I'm Laura, Mark's wife. He is the biggest Disney kid you will ever meet and keeps us hopping with all his Disney plans. We love it. I particularly love just being told when, where and what to pack. He even plans all our Disney meals and makes the reservations. It is awesome.

Anyway, Just wanted to say Hi. Looking forward to meeting all of you on board.

Umber, The Oceaneer's club is awesome. You may find that our daughter never wants to leave. We had that experience with our son. It was always. "just a bit longer, please". Sure, we really enjoyed those extra free minutes to stroll around the deck.

As far as the alcohol, I am pretty sure that they take what you purchase in ports also. I don't remember for exactly but I did see a lot of people with claim checks on alcohol boxes. I know one trip I had a bottle of local liquor in a shopping bag with a bunch of other suveniors and no one stopped me from taking it to my room.

Bathing suits. YIKES. Had a favorite suit that got left behind on a vacation. Not going to find another like it. I do have a miracle suit but I don't like it too much. Maybe it is the style but it pushes me out in places I don't need pushing. I also ordered a couple suits from Newport-news. Hope we don't end up with the same ones. I hope they ship them soon. The first ones I ordered were cancelled.

Well, I guess that is about it. Can't wait to get out of the cold. Mark said it was 50 and raining where he was but suppose to be sunny and 70 tomorrow. Poor Baby. :sunny:

About Shorts. Check out OldNavy.com they have a few pairs. I found some at Marshall Fields also. What about TJ Maxx or Marshalls. They probably have some left over from last year. We have a SYMS store in our area and they also had shorts, capri's etc.

Bought DS dress slacks, shirt, tie and shoes tonight. Remind me never to take a 11 year old boy and his best friend into a department store. Especially when they have to go to the dressing room. :crazy2:

They really have gotten nasty with each other haven't they? Ya know, the way I look at it, I know that by going on a cruise, I'm at the mercy of the sea. If I miss a port or two, sure I'll be disappointed but I'll get over it! And there is no way on earth I'd be writing to DCL asking for money back or a discount on a future cruise. It's just a risk you take.

Hi Laura! I'm so glad you were able to stop in for a visit. Looking forward to meeting you too!

I can't even imagine shopping with two 11yo boys! I can barely handle going with my 11yo dd. LOL Of course I suppose it doesn't help that I hate shopping. And I think it would almost be funny if we ordered the same swim suits. I'm also hoping they get here soon so if I don't like them, I can go find something else.

Ok, I really need to be a good girl and go to bed now. Chat with you all tomorrow! :earboy2:

Hi, Laura
I wasn't sure when Mark was getting back, kinda miss hearing his responses. I am glad that you are there to do it for him. I too, look forward to meeting you, and everyone that I have met.
I hear ya, as far a pushing things were they shouldn't be pushed, but again, if your "pooh" like me, any bit I will take!!lol. I will be that break wall on CC..LOL
Laura, did your kids have a lot of dinners with you or did they eat at the club with everyone else?
That is why I am a little mixed up re: alcohol in ports. I guess if you bring back one bottle and put it in your bag there is not a prob. Its when you bring back more than one, I guess.

I agree, I would of responded with "would you rather the captain put us at risk"
they were down right nasty on that site...

Good Morning.
This is going to be a long 2weeks. 5 below this am & snow for next week :earseek: Michigan weather.
I too was reading the tread frm Magic, sort of frighting some of the responses, I'll be happy to be warm. Did get me thinking more about Cozumel, was just going to go to beach or such. But now I'm wondering if I should book something. In checking the port info it looks like 8 ships there that day.
Still no doc or work from TA. I'm giving her today & tommarrow shes going to hear from me.
My kids are looking like this every day :Pinkbounc
Welcome to all new posters
Stay warm & have a great day
Wendy

Wendy, I really wouldn't stress over having an excusion planned for Cozumel. Chances are that we will get to go to Grand Cayman. And even if we don't get to GC, I'm sure you'll have a great time just hanging out on a beach in Cozumel. With the exception of the 1/15 cruise, I really haven't heard of any other time when they haven't gone to GC.

Good Morning everyone! :wave2:

Wendy, you must be freezing :cold: ! With those kind of temps I wouldn't want to get out of bed!

Wish I could send some warmth up to you... :sunny: :sunny:

Thanks for the Welcome.

Yep it is cold one today. It is about 1 here. Freezing!!!!

Steph, our kids ate most meals with us. They usually managed to sneak out as soon as they were done and headed out to find their friends. Once nice thing about having older kids. They can check themselves in and out of the clubs. I think our son who was 10 last year managed to skip the formal night after we got his picture.

If anyone has a is in Orlando area before they head over to the ships you might want to check out some of the outlet stores for summer clothes. Just a thought.

Hey everyone. Freezing here too! Can't wait for the sun and warm weather.

I agree about the alcohol issue, thought you could buy it in GC and Cozumel and then bring it on the ship and enjoy it. Otherwise, for a couple of bucks savings I don't want to lug it around with me and take it home. Does that sentence make sense? Maybe my brain is freezing too :rotfl:

Read part of the 1/15 thread also. They were getting UGLY. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it is just not nice to verbally attack others.

My family and I plan to hang out at one of the beaches in Cozumel.
We should be thawed out by then :cool1:
Not worrying about tendering over to GC, like Jen pointed out, it is a rare occasion when it can't be done.

Hanging out at one of the beaches in Cozumel, is what we plan to do, with drink in hand.

We are not planning to do excursions at this point. One of my kids is too young to do most, and I have my aunt (like a mother to me ) coming with us,
she is not one for water stuff but loves to drink and have fun...lots...wait til you meet her, what a hoot she is.

I can not wait to meet all of you...My daughter is very excited to meet, all the girls around her age ... If I remember correctly a lot of the girls were around 8, she loves older girls. (jen's, Anne's, Wendy's, and Cyberkashi.)

Anne, I do think you can enjoy any alcohol you buy in the ports on the ship but my understanding is that you can't take open bottles off the ship. So unless you think you can drink an entire liter of something on the ship, you're better off just keeping it for at home. I don't know what the savings will be like in GC or Cozumel but I remember on St. Maarten, Kahlua was something like $9 for a huge bottle. It would have cost at least double in the US. So the prices can be really good.
