February 11, 2012 Eastern Caribbean on the Disney Magic***

Facebook group is under: February 11 Disney Magic Cruise Hope you find us there, it does seem more active.

Okay - what's the trick to find you guys on fb?! I'm not having any luck! Thanks!

Try https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/220653094632833/ or go to Facebook and do a search for us at February 11 Disney Magic Cruise.

It is a closed group so you do have to request to join, but that's not a problem.

Hth.

Thanks for the fb tip! I'll try it when I get home. Have you guys closed the FE group? If not, we'd love to join!

We're staying at Animal Kingdom villas the night before the cruise, and the villas at Wilderness Lodge the two nights after. Looking forward to being there and not roasting like we did this past summer, ugh. Too painful to get off the ship and just go home.

We stayed for 5 days at Caribbean Beach Resort last February after the cruise and decided we would only stay before the cruise from now on. We were so relaxed after the cruise being at WDW really took our mellow state of mind away.

FE group is still open. We have created a google doc (click here) that you can update with your info. I believe we decided to cut it off at 30 days out.

Awesome! I was really hoping it was still available. I have to dig up our room number and add in our info. Thanks for the info! (I've also got 3 boys - fun!)

That's funny...we are the exact opposites. The potential of post-cruise let-down is just too great for us...we have to know it isn't "over" when we walk off the ship...and we relish the excitement of a couple more days of Disney fun after lying on deck chairs sleeping off food comas all week. Plus we always disembark with another reservation in hand...may end up moving it, but we always have at least one. Takes the sting right out of a long-anticipated cruise ending!

Well I have enjoyed all of your posts.. just spent an hour reading all of them and hopefully meeting you all - I am sooooo excited. This is my daughter and my first cruise and first DCL (We are doing back2back - also doing the Western on Feb 4). My daughter will be turning 21 in 2012. This is exciting in itself.,, Does anyone know if they have special accomodations or excursions for special needs I havent gone on a vacation for over a decade (although we went to DL and DW through wishes when she was younger). She is in a walker so we may have limited excursions which by the time we are allowed to book they may be all gone lol... so no problems there.. I was hoping for the dolphin experience and the stingray hopefully they will not be sold out. I also was thinking of a spa treatment for us both.. are they expensive??

We will tour the parks for several days pre-cruise. My parents decided to join us for that part of the trip, but not the cruise. We are staying at Marriott imperial palms, our first time off site, which I swore I'd never do. :cool1: but this way works better for the budget.

Hello! My family and I are taking our first ever cruise and we are super excited. My kids are 6 and 2 My daughter will be turning 7 while onboard.

I would love get any opinions on when the best times to get babysitting would be, I don't want to put my little guy in there all the time, but some time to ourselves would be nice.

Also, we want to book a Swedish massage on land but how do we work that with the kids?

So much to think about and only a few more days til we can book!

I thought I replied yesterday but it must have not worked. Probaby user error! lol

On our last trip we had two kids in the nursery. We put them both in there when we had reservations to Palo and then almost every night about an hour into dinner until 10:00 or 10:30, after the show. I got them fed right before our main entree came and I would run them up to the nursery. It worked out perfectly. I got to enjoy the main part of my dinner and the show. I took jammies and they would change them for me and most of the time they were asleep when I picked them up. My then 1 year old would be in a crib asleep and my then 2 year old would be asleep in a bean bag chair watching a movie.

I also put them in the there afte we got back to the boat in St. Martin for a couple of hours so we could go do a little shopping.

I prebook as much as I can beforehand, which I believe is 18 hours. I first book the times I have at Palo, any adult activities such as massage, tastings, excursions, etc. Then once you get onboard you can add more time or change once you know more about what you will be doing.

I really can't say enough good things about the nursery. They are wonderful!! We called it "their club" because I two year wanted to go to the kids club with my 5 year old and didn't think he was a baby so we spun it around and made him believe it was his own special club.

Woo Hoo! This week we paid off the cruise and bought plane tickets! Suddenly this trip that has been forever away is seeming so much more REAL!

Any recommendations on a hotel to stay at near the Port?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

we loved the residence inn, mariott, last year. The rate included a nice ,hot breakfast in the A.m.
Happy Thanksgiving!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn last year and it also came with breakfast. It is also located next to a grocery store and liquor store.

Happy Thanksgivng everyone!

I haven't been very active on the DIS this time around (this is our 4th Disney cruise) but I do enjoy checking in every once in a while to see what people are talking about.

My DD is 12 and worried that she won't meet anyone her age on the trip. :sad2: The club area for 11-13 year olds seems less structured so I'm not sure how much kids in that age group hang out there. Is there anyone out there with a young lady in the same age group that would be interested in "meeting" ahead of time via e-mail? If so, please PM me or respond here and I will PM you.

Thanks!
