February 10th 2013 ~ 4 Night Dreamy Dream Cruise!

:yay::tongue::mickeyjum
We are counting down the days!! This is our first cruise and we can't wait. Question for the experts... I imagine the water temp in Bahamas is bearable even in Feb, but what about the pools on the ship? I don't think our daughters (12,9,5) will mind either way, but for the rest of us? Thanks!:banana::woohoo:

Welcome aboard! We went on the 4 night Dream cruise last Feb. to the Bahamas and the water in the ocean was a little too cold for me personally to go swimming in it, but I did manage to walk in the water up to my thighs. There were a few people swimming in the ocean but I'm sure they were the ones from up north.

I am used to my pool water to be in the high 80's so anything colder is not comfortable to me. I was pleasantly surprised at how warm they kept the pool water (at least in the adult pool) on the Dream last Feb.! I'd say the pool water was in the high 80's in the adult pool. I hope it's just as warm again this year. If not, I'll just spend my time in the hot tub.

10 days!! So excited!

I never had any responses to my question. Anybody have opinions?

This will be our 4th Disney cruise, but our first during winter months. I'm familiar with what to pack as far as dining, etc., but I'm wondering about what to pack in regards to weather. We usually spend all day in swimsuits and coverups. Is that going to work in February? Or will we need jeans, long sleeves, etc.?

The extended forecast for the Bahamas during that week is highs of 80 - lows of 70. We are packing capris & shorts for the days, but we always have a light sweater with us. Bathing suits & coverups, maybe an extra tshirt for beach day. :sail:

Thanks Sherrie. That sounds great. Hope the water is warm, but will enjoy it just the same. NINE days and a wake-up!

Last year when we did the same cruise in February we had nice warm weather from start to finish. I brought long sleeve shirts for dinner and it was too warm to wear them. I'd say the weather was in the 70's for the trip with lots of sunshine. This year I am bringing less long sleeve wintery type clothing. But I will be prepared in case it is cold while in Florida or if we have any wet/rainy/cool days in the Bahamas.

:wave2: everyone. Just found out last week that we have been booked for this cruise courtesy of the Make a Wish Foundation. My husband, two sons (10 and 6) and I are very excited and are all first time cruisers. This will be our first family vacation since the onset of my son's cancer over 4 years ago, but he is doing fantastic, off almost all the chemo and meds and ready for some fun. Looking forward to meeting you all soon, it's won't be too long till we'll be sailing away. :beach:

Welcome to our cruise! You and your family will have a blast! Your son will enjoy himself and I bet he is excited about this trip! My first time on the Dream was in June of 2010........ a few weeks after finishing chemo and radiation treatments for lymphoma. I can relate .......... I had no problems on the cruise. This will be our 4th time sailing the Dream!

I'm not sure how much you know about the Disney cruises, but do you know about pirate night on the ship? Do your sons like to dress like Pirates? There will be lots of "pirates" on board on Tuesday for pirate night. Be sure to catch the fireworks and show out on deck.

If you have any questions about the cruise feel free to ask!

Thank you everyone for adding us to your lists. We're looking forward to sailing in 8 days.
