ok I forgot to pull something out from the freezer last night so leftovers it is unless I get motivated and make up a tuna helper thing. I'm feel really poorly today so I just want to sleep, not make dinner.

Tonight is Pretzel crusted chicken fingers w/dipping cheese sauce, rice, and salad.

pretzels and rice from the cupboard, chicken already in the freezer, salad mix and fixings already in the house also. I also made homemade croutons last week so we will use them up.

We are also tired out in our house so for a price I am guessing $5.75 total for the meal. No no new purchases needed.

I went shopping for my monthly purchases today. I spent $60.00 for perishables and non-perishables. I will only need to buy lunch items and milk for the rest of the month. Only 20 days to go.

2/9 lunch at home sandwiches & leftovers
dinner takeout pizza $9 coupon buy large 2 topping get small cheese free
had $5 gift card too.

2/10 lunch was left over pizza
dinner free at inlaws spaghetti. took salad from frig and made banana cupcakes w/cream cheese icing from frig. Only spent $8 on coffee grounds and newspaper.

Breakfast - Yogurt with homemade muesli
Lunch - I bought mine from the mall foodcourt as I was out visiting a client, Robert took frozen leftovers to work to reheat
Dinner - Salad platter from fridge items and fresh veges and toasted pita bread

DH cooked hamburgers on the grill on Saturday. He cooked the last 8 that were in the box. So, Saturday pm was hamburgers and salad. Sunda pm was hamburgers and salad. Good thing we don't mind leftovers! Today for lunch, I took an turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, grapes, and and yogurt. That is the last of the yogurt. Tonight for supper will either be more hamburgers or chicken breast with noodles from the pantry.

Tonight is Ham/Potato Casserole. I need to actually clean out the fridge so here it goes... (No new items needed)

Turkey Ham - fridge leftovers
1/4 cup green pepper - fridge leftovers
1/4 of an onion - fridge leftovers
1/2 brick of cheddar cheese - fridge leftovers

The recipe also calls for 4 cups cooked potatoes which will come out of my monthly potato bin, 1 1/2cups milk, and spices. I will add one can of green beans from the pantry and one can of peaches (drained and rinsed) from the pantry.

Cost: $5.00 (this is factoring in small amounts for the leftovers)

Can I join in even though its the 11th already? I want to get 2 boxes of Angel Food this month so that means cleaning out the freezer/deep freeze! I'm not good with meals for specific days but so far I've come up with:

-Pork Chalupe (this is an Angel Food recipe. I hope its good!!)
-spaghetti with garlic bread (sauce is frozen & I have 2 loaves of white bread in the freezer)
-cheesy chicken (Campbells Supper Bake + chicken from the pantry)
-Misc grilled meats (DH & I decided we would grill out this weekend. I've got bits & bobs from Angel Food that need to get out of the freezer so we're grilling out Saturday. I usually try & do enough that we can eat on it for several days. This time it should be 2 steaks, beef ribs, beef filets & marinated boneless/skinless chicken breasts) {I may end up buying baking potatoes for this meal but possibly not}

This should get us through the weekend & I can post a new list next week. So, for today:

2/11 Pork chalupe

I made a big meatloaf last night and we're eating the leftovers tonite. :)

Grocery shopping was easy again this weekend. Just picked up milk, bread and veggies. Kept it under $50. Yahoo! :cool1:

Tomorrow night I'm making some kind of chicken - either mushroom or stir fry. I'm not sure yet.

Keep up the good work everyone!

:woohoo:

We've done really well. I am excited. Total for the month out of pocket has been about $40.!!!!

Today I thawed some hamburger so diner and some of the lunch meat I had frozen last week from the super bowl party. I had never frozen lunch meat before but it came back out just fine! Might do pancakes tonite and eggs for DH who wants more protein.

Keep up the good work guys!!

still on track from the pantry. Although Dh brought home 2 half chickens from work so those have to be eaten tonight so nothing from the pantry but he didn't buy them either so that's something in the middle I guess.

I don't even know where we are in this thing ... we ended up spending the weekend at my parents ... so I will start with Friday.

2/8 - Dinner at mom's ... YAY!
2/9 - Lunch was at the bowling alley for my sister's birthday party. Food was going to be served after I left, so I "bought" a cheeseburger and put it on my mom's tab.:rolleyes1 Dinner was at my mom's .... yay! But, I was nice and just ate leftovers from there house.
2/10 - Breakfast/lunch was at work ... I assume my parent's fed Julie ... hopefully ;) Dinner was sammiches and bananas.
2/11 - Today was a BAD day. I stopped at Publix b/c I wanted pizza tonight, and we don't have pizza crust (or pizza sauce :rolleyes1 ) And then, well, I hadn't eaten all day ... and got caught up. I only spent $17, but I bought chicken breast stuffed with broccoli, mozz sticks, candy (b/c Julie went pee on the potty while at the store!), a magazine and bananas. The mozz sticks I bought on sale and with a coupon. I know this defeats the whole purpose of a no buy Feb ... and it's completely my fault with the whole going to the store STARVING. Oh well, I don't feel like I did all that badly for $17, and we will end up with like four meals from what I bought

Now, don't even get me started about strawberry season starting down here. Mmmmm. I've been seriously tempted to head over to the fruit stand, but I am trying really REALLy hard to not stop by.

took pizza leftover from home for lunch
I spent $2.20 in cafe at work in budget for oatmeal & a cup of soup.
dinner was chicken soup homemade from stock I made last week from whole chicken. used onion, noodles, corn, and carrots from pantry.

Tomorrow I have to go to the grocery store. It will a challenge I only need pullups and lunch meat. We'll see how it goes.

Leftover lasagna and half a pizza from the freezer for lunch today.

Tonight was leftover flank steak for dinner. DH just made a sandwich. I made mine with yellow rice, pepper stir fry from freezer with salsa and sour cream all mixed up together! YUM!!! I was going to make home made tortillas but I got home late and didnt want to make a whole batch just for me.

Tomorrow I have to go to the doctor so I might buy lunch out....double cheeseburger at McD's only $1!! Dinner will be overnight blueberry french toast and bacon. That will use up all the eggs.

I've been keeping this whole thread in my mind, and it has helped. But realistically, I'm still spending money at the stores!!

Today, had to pick up milk, fruit and prescription in AM. Also got some grape juice ($1.50/bottle with coupon), tea (need that! I don't drink coffee) and pot pies for ds14 is just hungry! But the pot pies were .89 each and I had a $1 off 5 coupon so they were pretty cheap.

Later on, returned jam and instant mashed potatoes to Costco and bought hamburger for the same amount. I do not have a big freezer and it's getting lonely in there.

Stopped at Wally World on the way home and picked up giant bags of Malt O Meal cereal, yogurt, apples, etc. But I mostly stayed away from the boxed and canned goods!

We're still eating leftover chili from this weekend. And corn muffins. :) I was going to make soup for lunch and had sauteed some onions and garlic in butter, thrown in the leftover potatoes and ham when ds14 came down and said "That smells so good! Can I have it now?" So he and dh (who works at home) had hash for lunch. :)

Breakfast - Yogurt with homemade muesli
Lunch - took frozen leftovers to reheat at work (vegetable curry) - Robert had something else from the freezer, probably much the same as what I had
Dinner - I opened a can of creamed corn and added half a can of lite evaporated milk (I froze the rest of the milk), added some ground pepper and served it with toast and pesto & cheese

Lunch today is some leftover hummus, pita bread, and grapes. That should be it for those. Tonight we will be having previously grilled chicken breasts, parmesan noodles from the pantry and probably canned veggies.

Everybody is doing so good! Keep it up.
Lori

Aslo I need some advice..
