Feb. eat out of the fridge/freezer/pantry challenge

Tonight - either Chili Corn Dog Pie using canned chili, hot dogs and corn muffin mix. .

How do you make that?? There's a package of hotdogs in my freezer that need to go and I think I might be able to get DH to eat something like that. Are there any veggies in it at all?

We had breakfast for dinner last night. :) Eggs, spam, waffles and chocolate milk! Everyone was surprisingly happy with the idea. :goodvibes

I'm roasting a chicken tonite and the leftovers will be made with bbq sauce tomorrow night.

I have passed up so many good sales this month! Ack! It has taken real discipline!

:cutie:

OK, budgeters. We are past the halfway point. Still going strong?

We had chili last night, all from the house. I was going to have chicken burrito type things tonight but after chili and a special mexican lunch out with the girls today not much in the mood for more mexican. So I'll make chicken parm instead, still all from the house.

I was going to go to the store this morning for produce and milk but putzed around so long I dont have time now. So that helps with my savings. :rotfl:

I haven't actually made it yet. It is a new recipe that I came across so I don't remember the specifics. I think it was spread 2 cans of chili on the bottom of a 9x13 pan, slice up 6-9 hot dogs on top of the chili, the put the corn muffin batter on top and bake. I don't remember if you just make the corn muffin mix from directions on the package of if there are other measurements. But, nope, no veggies so we would do something on the side.

I am falling off the wagon today. LAZY!!! I had one slice leftover pizza for breakfast and am starving. Lunch - um, I am thinking McDonalds. I didn't pack my lunch today. Bad me.. Supper - the guys will be gone so it is just me. I will have leftovers or frozen wings.

I am still going strong! I have so much bread items that it is just crazy.. Next week there is no school.. I know a big dent will be in my stock..

today I am still pushing the ham and the rolls for lunch..

dinner:confused3 I have no idea we have so many sport events tonight..
Well I think we can have ham sandwhich, some soup and what ever else I can muster up really quick.

I have not been shopping in 10 days :lovestruc Sat I have to pick up some coffee , fresh veggies, fruit and milk. Other than that I am ok.

Lazy Lasagne tonight

1 package rigatoni $1.00 (pantry)
1 jar sauce $1.00 (pantry)
1 container ricotta cheese $1.75 (fridge)
1/2 brick mozzarella $1.00 (fridge)
parmesian .50 (fridge)
Left over dinner rolls - free

$5.25 for 4 with leftovers. No veggie's tonight but their is salad mix in the fridge if the kids ask.

instead of fast food like kids and I do alot on Friday night we stayed in. We weren't that hungry left over couple of pieces of pizza and two boxes of mac n cheese (with leftover for tomorrow). It was good and cheap.

I got caught at work by a friend and ended up leaving an hour late, and I felt icky so I didnt fix the chicken I had planned. I had a tuna melt and DH had leftover chili with leftover hotdogs. So we are still pantry strong! :lmao:

last night I had to run in the store for milk ,veggies, coffe and fruit.. $57.00
That is just for one week

still chugging along....

actually made a dinner last night that had no leftovers! That was a small miracle!

Any leftovers still in the fridge today will get tossed out as they've been there too long now (not much left though).

Have no idea what dinner will be tonight but I'll pull something out.

I am going to try this for March, I know we have stockpiles of food from over the holidays. I will be ready March 1st. Good Luck everyone working on this for February :cheer2:

OK - I totally fell off the wagon yesterday! Back on today. Breakfast was 2 leftover hot cross buns, odds and ends of raisin bread and sausage links. Lunch - not sure - maybe canned soup. Supper - pork chops, brocoli rice casserole using up the end of the cheez whiz and asaragus from the freezer.

Do need to go to the store for a few odds and ends today.

today more French toast with the oat bread:rolleyes1
lunch =0 grandma is treating for pizza:hug:
dinner. I am thinking about hot turkey sandwhich (frozen pre cooked turkey for a montha go)
gravy and yes bread or a roll.

I ahve got to try and loose the 4lbs that I gained from eating bagles with tons of cream cheese....no more cream cheese, I have laid down the law:teacher:

OK, I was bad today. DH and I took DD and her roommate out to Carraba's for dinner. But it was sooooo worth it. So tomorrow back on the wagon with the chicken I was supposed to have Friday. And I have to go to the store but my list is really short and all fresh food....and toilet paper. :rotfl:

Well things are starting to get low:cool2: I can actually move things around. (I am am haveing anxiety, I love to have a stock plie ). I still have tons of ziti, spagetti, bread, bagels and about 12 ketchups.

tonight baked macaroni and cheese again:love: ( this is my last block of cheese)

lunch.. we had b-b-q turkey, spagetti with butter, and fruit

breakfast more bagels..penutbutter and jelly on top...

oh yes I have 2 cake mixes left ....which normally I have 10:scared1:

Happy Monday:rotfl:

Tonight I am making chicken salad pita's, soup, and/or side salad.

Chicken in a can (pantry) $2.00
mayo/seasoning .25
Pita's $1.25
2 cans of chicken noodle soup (pantry) $1.50
Salad mix w/fixings $1.50

$6.50

I have to admit I am concerned about serving the Chicken noodle soup. Its in the pantry for emergency lunches etc. I usually make homemade soup and I know the kids will really enjoy it but the salt content is soooo high. On a good note though as soon as I use it up, I don't have to replace it...:thumbsup2

still eating from the pantry/freezer...I really want to go somewhere and eat out tonight but we'll see.

I've spent about $65 on groceries so far in the past 2+wks. That's pretty amazing.

dinner was pork from frig, peas, stewed tomatoes, and macaroni salad. Everything was from home but lunch. :rotfl2:
Kids were home today with me and we went to ...... McDonald's it was a treat. It cost $10.

We are running out of meat so I had to buy some at the store yesterday but it was all on sale! So last night we had STEAK!!! (but it was on sale :rotfl: ) and I have two more for the freezer for March. Tonight I finally grilled the chicken I meant to have last Friday. It was from the freezer. We had it with a big salad and there is enough for leftovers for a couple of sandwiches. That will be my lunch tomorrow. Tomorrow's dinner will be calzones with leftover ricotta/parmesan mixture from fridge and leftover beef and sausage from freezer. These were leftover from when I made 2 lasagnas last week. So we are still doing pretty well. And I made soup which only I will eat so that will last awhile and I will freeze half of it for next month.

well we ended up getting the kids some McD's for lunch but everyone ate dinner at home. So less than $10 for the kids for lunch.

Starting to feel some breathing room in the pantry. I think it will be nice when we finally do get through everything. Then maybe I can keep it all organized as the stuff comes into the house.
