We all know you really can't count on anything when it comes to the airlines and their pricing, but I'll ask anyway.

DW, DS and I are planning on flying last week of February, I can get Delta at $196.00 per person (flying out of Milwaukee). My question is this, do I wait for something to come along cheaper, do any of you have experience with this time of year? And do any of you have any insight on what the airlines typically do during that time of year?

Thanks.

Wags,

That would be a decent (not great, decent) fare out of Boston to Orlando. I just booked Southwest for the last week of January, for $175 R/T. Are you close by any Southwest cities, that you could take a look? I'm sorry, my geography is pitiful, and I don't know where in Wisconsin you actually are.

Check out Southwest Site

Sounds like a pretty good fare if the flight is direct, and at the times that are convenient to you. Is this Presidents week, or the week after that you are flying? :):D:)

I would book it now if it is direct and the times are good for your family.

I don't know what your fares usually are, but, $196 from Wisconsin sounds pretty good -- particularly if it's non-stop and the times are good for you.

I live in the Washington, DC area, and have noticed that the prices have increased greatly in the WAS-MCO airfares over the last 2 years. We're going Feb. 8-16, and I just booked airfare at $262.50 per person (favorite airline, airport, and best times for us). Once upon a time, I could easily get a good flight for about $170. Now, for non-stops, the best I could do was $200, at inconvenient times and a DC airport I'm not overly fond of.

I usually start pricing flights at about 6 months before our intended trip -- just to monitor where prices are going. At about 3 months out -- I start watching closely, on a daily basis. When fares drop about 2-3 months out -- I'll grab a flight that suits our needs. Sometimes I notice that I could possibly do better if I waited until about 60 days out -- but sometimes the prices only go up and the flight times get much less convenient. We're on a tight schedule this round -- so I grabbed a decent fair. Prices do seem to be a bit higher for the Feb. 12 - April timeframe. Must be related to President's Day and Spring Break. . .

Happy Hunting!!:smooth:
