Feb 7 2010 4 Night Bahamas

7 months from today and we will be on the Wonder! Has anyone started making pre or post cruise plans? We just booked a night at the VWL before the cruise and will be making our post cruise plans later this week.

We made our post cruise ressies today for the new BLT at the Contemporary! Getting excited!

Hi everyone! We will be joining you in Feb, we just made our reservations! It will be our first time cruising. It will be me, DH, and our two DDs! We will be planning on adding on some days at WDW after the cruise.

Yay! Another DISer on board! Your first cruise--you will love it!!! Feel free to ask questions on this forum. I had tons of questions before my first cruise.

Hi all!

Finally back and posting on the boards since May. Hi Shauna. It sounds like alot of us are doing the same - WDW following the cruise. We just made ressies at BLT following the cruise too. I feel thankful that we got what we wanted. We had SS THV reserved, but I had wanted to switch to BLT or VWL and had put the 7 month mark in my calendar months ago with stickies all over my office and still forgot to call until the Sunday the 12th! It seems like we could have stayed wherever we wanted except for MKV at BLT.

We are still trying to figure out what to do on Fri and Sat evening. If the weather looks good we may just stay at the beach instead of using all the points needed for WDW on Fri/Sat since we are staying through President's Day before going home.

I will start shopping air fares soon. Re: Delta airlines- we had a horrible experience on Delta so they are off our radar unless they had an unbeatable fare.

Hope everyone is well. Fabulous that we are below the 7 month mark.

Hey Terri---which view did you get at BLT? We got a studio Lake View. When I called right when they opened, they had standard or lake view avail, but no MK view. I decided to do BW instead and then an hour later changed my mind so I called back and switched to BLT. I wanted standard but it was already gone--shows me not to wait. We are waitlisted for the standard but I don't really care if we get it or now. In this case (Thurs-Sat) stay, I'm glad they adjusted the point charts so we don't get dinged as much for the weekend.

We are shopping for airfare now as we have some companion certificates on Delta. Problem is that they won't drop their fares for a while and then I'm afraid we won't be able to use the companion certificates. We got this cruise by adding on to our DVC and the cruise is for 4 and we're still trying to find a 4th person to bring. I just wish that airlines like SW and JetBlue would release their dates sooner to help the other airlines bring down the rates. Also, I'm afraid it may be hard to get cheap airfare due to the holiday.

We are patiently waiting for airfare to open up as well. We are big Jetblue fans and have a small credit to use up. Also waiting on WDW to release 2010 dates. I am really hoping they will offer another special in February (I think it was 4/3 last Feb, even free parkhoppers/waterparks would be nice) since I dont see the economy drastically improving before then. Hopefully there wont be a noreaster on the way down - planning on flying down Saturday just in case! Now I wont mind getting stuck in Florida because of a storm!:)

Hi Everyone,
It is so exciting to hear we are finally under the 7 month mark. We had a big 4th of July party with our kids and grandkids and played cruise bingo and they won all sorts of on-board credits (for drinks, photos, pins, free parking, etc.) Since this is our first Disney cruise and theirs, we all are getting excited. Some of the grandkids even got snorkeling equipment this summer to practice for the cruise. What about fish extenders....have any of you participated in those on your previous cruises and was it a positive experience?
Thanks for all the advice and look forward to cruising with you in February.
Karen (Disnemimi)

We also are staying at a lake view studio at BLT for 4 nights after the cruise. Then we move to AKV for the rest of our vacation. I was excited to see that some of the lake views have views of EPCOT.

Karen, I wondered about FEs after reading about them on the boards.

Meg

So it sounds like a few of us will be at BLT post-cruise. It will be fun!

I've been on other cruises that did FEs but we haven't participated yet. The first time I heard about them I just had too much to do and didn't want to add one more thing and last Nov and this Nov DD is too young to care. I know people have enjoyed it though.

I got out tickets set up already.. We are taking US Air (as usual) to to other coast....

How is everyone? We finally figured out the 4th person for our cruise--our niece is going to come along. I think we will have a great time together!

I feel like I need to hurry and book airfare since we plan to come home the day before President's Day--I'm afraid the prices are going to go up. It is still over 6 months away, so maybe I don't need to be in such a hurry. I just like to have things planned.

Hope everyone is having a great summer. We have been in the high 90s and low 100s lately, I'm ready for a bit of a cool down.

hi everyone! I'm a total cruise newbie- and a little nervous, to be honest... haven't booked yet, but planning very likely to join you all on the Wonder! We're leaving the kiddos at home and celebrating DH's 40th bday- neither of us have cruised before, so I am wandeing around in the dark!

This will be a surprise to him, hoping it doesn't disappoint- he's not the big Disney fan I am, but hoping that he looks beyond that to love the Disney treatment!

Welcome! Feel free to ask questions! DH and I cruised with DCL 3 times before having kids and we found a lot to do for just the 2 of us. It is Disney, but not overwhelming. Since you'll be without kids, you can see/do as much Disney as you want, but you can also relax and enjoy the adult activities as well. At first we were worried that it may be "just for kids" or that there would be kids all over the place, but it was great!

Random thought, as I'm way to overeager about the tip and am looking over every detail. Any ideas how things may be affected (area busyness, activities, otherwise) by the fact that the Super Bowl is on our sailing day?

Hmmmm, the only thing I can think of is that they might show the game on the Ariel View TV on Deck 9. That will be one great Super Bowl party! I don't think the area will be too affected with it since it is a few hours south to Miami.

I told DH that we sail on Super Bowl Sunday- his response- "not like my Seahawks will be playing anyway" LOL ;)

Since we're flying from CA, we're thinking we should definitely book airfare ASAP just in case people who are trying to get to FL for the Super Bowl want to fly into other airports if it's cheaper, etc... Although it's already looking like it will cost an arm and a leg to get out there!

just booked our airfare :) We're coming into MCO Friday night and Dh has requested to go to Universal on Saturday- his 40th bday :) Looking at saying onsite there Fri night to get him FOTL passes...any recommendations?? I think we'll stay by the Port on Sat night so we can get some water/snacks to take on board and be there early!!

Haven't seen any mention of a meet yet.... thoughts?

We are also sailing on 2/7!!! This will be our first cruise and we are beyond excited

I will be turning 40 on the ship and we will also be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary as well. It will be me, dh, dd 6 and ds 3.

We (well mostly me and the kids) are WDW fanatics and go every year, sometimes twice a year and have an off-site timeshare that helps us support our Disney habit :) I love WDW so much, that I am a little worried the cruise won't live up to my expectations, but am willing to give it a try!!

We will drive down a day or so before and I am trying to sneak in just one day at MK post-cruise. Heck, I would be happy with just a day at Downtown Disney before we go home :rolleyes1

February can't get here fast enough!!!!!:jumping1:
