Feb 7 2010 4 Night Bahamas

Depending on who's playing, we might not care ;) LOL I'm sure there's answers out there somewhere, as I'm sure some ship has sailed away at some point on Super Bowl Sunday :) And there *had* to be a least one DISer there :)

Hi to the new members on the thread! So excited to enjoy the 'planning' phase of our vacation together!!

Also, as we get closer, my kids (DD8 and DS4) would love to exchange emails with some of the other kids their age. It's nice to have some 'ready-made' friends aboard. Even if we never meet up on the ship, it's fun to look forward to it!

Our friends who were going to travel with us found out they are expecting another baby (good news!) but she will be too far along to cruise (bad news). So we have asked grandma and grandpa to come along - they are thinking it over and hopefully will join us!!:grouphug:

Count us in, we booked for a B2B Feb 4th(3nt) and Feb 7th(4nt), we've never done a b2b before so any tips would be great. Will it be really disruptive? This is our 2nd time on the cruise. Ou 1st was a 3nt in March. We will have a 10 yr old boy and 6(almost 7)yr old boy.

We did the same thing on a back to back 2 years ago. It was pretty cool watching everyone leaving and you get to stay onboard. (If you are a US citizen you can stay onboard) You just stay out of the way as they clean.

There is nothing operating from after breakfast until lunch so you just make sure you eat a big breakfast.

Its definately different knowing you dont have to get off the ship and that second trip to castaway cay is great.

I just posted a thread about this question, but I'm assuming others on this thread have similar questions? Where will we watch the SuperBowl? Will the safety drill and Adventures Away party conflict with kick-off?

Im sure they will play the game, just not on the jumbotron guring the sailaway...

We'll be sailing along with the rest of you on this cruise.
It's me, DH & DD(16). Anyone else have a teenager with them?
Third Disney Cruise for us - the other two were on the Magic.
Can't wait until Feb!:cool1:

we got the word from grandma and grandpa - they're coming too! Hooray!:cool1: They've never cruised before, so we're looking forward to being the 'experienced' ones this time around - our 2nd cruise ever! :rotfl2:

I'm so excited - we rebooked with the KSF - saved $500 AND got an upgrade. Flights, hotels and car rentals all came in under budget as well. The vacation gods are smiling...

What will we do with the difference? :idea:Guess we'll get a heftier booze package...yeah, that's it.

Shout out to jensen (or whoever mentioned it first) THANKS! for mentioning Feb 7 is super bowl Sunday in Miami. I think it was smart to go ahead and get hotel rooms/car rental setup. Don't want to take a chance on things getting full and prices going up, up, up.

Hi All, My family will be joining you all too!! This will includes my DH & 3 DS's ages 8, 11 & 13. This is our first cruise, so very excited for it to be on DCL. There all think they are to big to go on DCL, but I hope they meet lots of new friends. We are from Florida but we plan to stay the night before in Port Canaveral. Where will everyone be staying? See you all in Feb!!:wave2:

Welcome mommyof3boyz! We're staying at AKV the night before and BLT for a few nights after the cruise. I think your boys will find a lot of fun things to do. If nothing else, they can eat all they want whenever they want and I know a lot of boys that age eat a lot. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. One thing to know since this is your first cruise (and it is on DCL)--you might get addicted!!! But it is a good addiction!

Thank you for the warm welcome. LOL - Thats what I'm scare of ADDICTION!! Hopefully it will be our first of many to come. We probably should've not told our boys until atleast a month out, we just booked it last week & they can't stop talking about it! See you all in Feb!

Hi Everyone....just realized the cruise is 4 months from today!:cool1:
Our whole family (12 of us) are so excited for our first cruise.

mommyof3boyz..we will have 4 grandsons on this cruise, 11, 10, 7, 5 (and two cute granddaughters 10 & 2) I think your boys will be surprised at how much fun this cruise will be. All the grandkids are so excited (as well as the parents and grandparents)

Is anyone getting Halloween pirate outfits to wear at the Pirates of the Caribbean party? Being our first cruise, do many people dress-up?

I know this trip will be here before we realize.:yay:

You're right--it is 4 months from today. Wahoo!

I'm so excited to see my niece's reaction when she finds out she gets to come. She'll find out at the end of November.

In all honesty, I haven't been thinking much about this cruise because we are actually cruising on the Magic in one month from today. But, once I'm home from that trip, I can focus on this one.

To answer your question about Pirate outfits--some people dress up, some people don't. You won't feel out of place either way. I love seeing people's pirate costumes on Pirate night. However, I don't dress up for it. If you love to dress up and can get your family to do it to, you could have a lot of fun. Be sure to get some pictures with Pirate Mickey and Jack Sparrow while you are in your costume!

Karen that is awesome! I think at first they were like mom no not a disney cruise thats for babies, but now they are really getting excited see me plan stuff etc. As far as pirate costumes my 8 (well will turn 9 on our cruise) he pirate costume I bought from the Disney store last year that I might pack I have also seen pirate shirts for Halloween at Target & Walmart that I might pick up for the bigger boys. See everyone in February!!:yay:

Hello friends! Has anyone started a list of everyone's whole family/group? I'd love to post photos and get the kids aquainted a little before we board the ship...

I'll start... we are a family of four...
Jennifer (me), 36
Jon (DH), 36
Connor (DS), 9
Sidney (DD), 6

Also, has anyone talked about an FE exchange? I'd like to do that if others are interested...

I think FEs were mentioned once. I would participate if others want to, but I can't commit to organizing it.

Also, if anyone is interested in those silicone wristbands to identify each other on the ship, I have coordinated those on past cruises (just got them today for my Nov cruise) and would be willing to coordinate them for this cruise. If so, they run $2-3 each (which includes shipping to you so you have them before the cruise).

I'd be interested in doing an FE exchange/Meet- It will just be DH (who turns the big 4-0 on the day before!) and me, 34 at time of cruise. We're leaving the kiddos at home with my MIL- we just pulled them out of school for a week 2 weeks ago for a family trip to Hawaii, so ths one is just adults only! :)

Here's a pic of me (Heidi) and DH (David) from Hawaii :)

How is everyone? This thread is mighty quiet. Do you think it will pick up since we are getting closer to the cruise?

So, it sounds like a few are interested in doing a Fish Extender swap. Is there anyone who wants to head this up? Essentially, someone needs to gather the info about who is participating and their room numbers.

I'm still happy to order wristbands if anyone likes that idea.

We'll have 4 in our cabin. Myself, DH, DD2, and my niece who will be 12. That is a little about us. This will be our 6th time on DCL. I'm so excited for my niece, she doesn't know about this yet and it will be her first cruise and her first trip to WDW.

If an FE is too daunting for most people, we could maybe do just a "Secret Mickey" exchange of sorts where you're just doing one gift for one cabin (family/couple). Just a thought- having never cruised before, just want to make the most of our DCL experience!! :)

I'll be participating in an FE exchange in a couple weeks for the first time. I'd like to see how it goes before deciding whether or not we should do FEs on this cruise. I'll be back mid-November, and hopefully by that time we'll have a little more going on in this thread since final payment will be due and people will start planning a little more. I think FEs sound fun.
