Feb 5th - 12th 2012 Mexican Riviera on the Disney Wonder

Question of the Day: Friday, January 13

What do you consider lucky?

To me, I actually like Friday the 13ths. They come around fairly infrequently so they're kind of special. I've never thought of them as unlucky days.

Flopping quad aces. If you play poker, you'll know what I'm talking about.

I consider lucky being able to take a Disney cruise :cool1: and visit DL in the middle of winter and enjoy summer-like temps! :cheer2: :woohoo:

Thanks to the info here, I've now ordered pirate costume items for self and DS (who thought it would be really cool).

One more thing....Do I have to book that crown paradise something or another in advance???
:confused3

23 days .....23 days......(starting tomorrow):cheer2:

I thought I read somewhere that the Crown Paradise is a first come, first served basis. I need to look it up again and get some specifics:surfweb:

I was looking through the "gifts & amenities" area of the DisneyCruise.com web site and saw they have some photo pre-purchase packages.

What are the opinions on these? Is it worth getting a package as a first-time cruiser? If it is should I look at a pre-cruise purchase or are there better deals once we start the cruise?

Also wondering about the CD I see mentioned, but never a price! Has anyone ever done one of those?

And last, is there any tie-in to PhotoPass that they have at available Disneyland?

Thanks & "Yea! Its the weekend"

Like many others, I feel I'm lucky that I get to go on a fabulous Disney cruise to get away from our freezing winter! As for gambling, lets just say that I prefer to spend my money on other things! :beach:

Have never purchased one of these, but have seen them. Personally I wouldn't spend the money. Thru Disney they are pretty expensive, and you dont get too much. There is SO much going on and Disney magic all over the ship. However, if you would really like your cabin decorated and make it extra special, they seem fun. There are many options, most include food, which you dont need! There is a lady that does gift baskets that are delivered to your cabin, I believe they are a little cheaper and have a better variety

Again, never purchased one, they typically run around $300. We only have a few pics taken with the Disney photographers, so not worth it for us. If you take a lot of pictures with them, it would probably be worth it, you get ALL of the pictures they take on the CD.

No, only cruise pictures will be on the CD

Thanks & "Yea! Its the weekend"

Hope this helps

I don't really consider anything lucky... I believe I am very fortunate to have a good job that allows me to take great vacations...as for luck, I think it's what you make of it. :)

Another vote for a winter get away...lots of other things I consider lucky/fortunate...good friend to travel with, good job that allows me to pay for it:dance3:
As for Friday the 13th, my grand nephew was born on that day, and he is a fun kid, so I consider that a pretty lucky day:)

Love this:flower3: Totally agree!:thumbsup2

DVCTigger do you know the name of the person who does the gift baskets. I could only see threads for Shirley but she is only out of Port Canaveral? thanks

I also consider myself to be very lucky. We live in a country that we love, and I have a fantastic family and friends.

This time in three weeks we will be in Disneyland !!!!!!

Nikki, sorry I cant remember her name. I read about her a while ago, but didnt pay much attention since I wouldnt use her. I know Shirley on the east coast, but I thought I was reading about someone doing the same on the west. I could be wrong, it was a while ago that I was reading about it, and I may have been reading about Shirley :confused3

I did a Google search for gift baskets port of LA. Did show a couple of companys that deliever to DCL. Not sure if it would be better then going directly thru DCL tho.

Inspired by our very own beauty expert, Hawky7 of Sephora, what are your must have beauty supplies for the cruise. Some consider a vacation the time to look their best because of all the photos, others believe a vacation is the time to let yourself go and relax completely. What are you?

I'm definitely more high maintenance. I'm testing the GHD out right now (if it curls + straightens to my satisfaction, I'll keep it) and may be bringing it on the cruise. The usual hair products, of course, styling cremes, hair spray, Living Proof shampoo + conditioner. I won't even go into the makeup arsenal, too much to actually list. Also bringing along Red Karpet Colour, this awesome faux bronzing product. It isn't a fake bake product, so you don't look orange. It's more like makeup for your body that gives you a nice subtle bronze glow.

Hubby never goes anywhere without his Layrite Pomade (he rocks a pomp). Tehe, no makeup for him.

I'm packing DD's Noodle + Boo products as well as her leave-in conditioner/detangler. She gets bed head constantly. Also bringing a copious number of hair ties for her.

I'm sorry to say I'll look like a finalist on Survivor by the end of this one. I may bring the headblade tho...
