Feb 5th - 12th 2012 Mexican Riviera on the Disney Wonder

I'll use my iphone 4s for video and pictures on the cruise, as well as our Canon Rebel for other pictures. I used an older waterproof camera setup a few years ago in Cancun for underwater pictures, but it is already outdated. I have been looking online for a good underwater camera for under $150. Still looking...

*****
We're going light, I guess. I'll have my Canon Rebel, my DD may have her Panasonic point and shoot (which takes better pics than mine) and my phone which I can't figure out why the pics come out so poorly. Video camera.... we're not so good about taking videos but could be fun!

Question of the Day: Saturday, January 7 (yay, it's my birthday! yes, that's right, when you write a question a day, you get to plug your birthday :-p)

Are you making any special purchases for the cruise?

We're making quite a few. 1) I've never been on a cruise 2) This is my longest vacay ever, seriously, workaholic here 3) DD first real cruise!

We're purchasing some of the items we've seen recommended (extension cord/power strip, over the door organizer, etc). Purchased DD a trunki to keep her entertained at port and so she'd feel like she had her own suitcase. A new, inexpensive waterproof camera (this is the first time we've spent so much time next to water). I've been using it as an excuse to update the wardrobe. With my weigh fluctuating so much being pregnant, and then post-pregnancy, I almost stopped buying clothes for 2 years. DH was like, you lived in those black maternity yoga pants and that god awful green sweater (it was freezing!) and then those 3 dresses during the summer. I'm not even pregnant yet, and every time he sees maternity clothes on sale, he pushes me towards the rack. Apparently, he does not want a repeat of last time. We also purchased a few small Disney themed gifts to wrap up for DD. We're going to tell her it is from Mickey and Minnie to welcome her to the ship. Boy, i do love it when they're still gullible :-)

Well we'll be bringing too many things like always. We'll have our Canon Rebel T2i too... I love all the Canon peeps!!! And our waterproof Sony, but I never bring the video camera anymore, since we can record on the little camera. Also both our phones, sorry no iphone users in this family...DH is a manager at Verizon, and since they didn't sell iphones for so long, we got kinda used pretending like we hated them. LOL!!! So I've got my Thunderbolt, sorry, I think it might be slightly better than iphone...soley on this... I can download movies I already own to my phone versus having to buy them through itunes. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :) Now Linda, don't go asking how many suitcases of makeup I'll be bringing since I work for Sephora now, because I'm not sure I have enough time to type it all out. :rotfl2:

@Hawky7 I am a not so secret makeup junkie. I've never been on such a long vacation before. How will I pack all of my makeup and hair tools?! Any tips on packing or what to pack it in? I currently store my makeup in an artist's toolbox. There's no way to lock it or I might just check it as luggage.

I haven't seen a couple of the people on our list post here in awhile, and would like to find out if they are still interested. Like Linda said, we may be able to substitute out some for others...

Can you check in with everyone? Cartersmom and DaniellefromOttowa? Haven't heard from either in a couple of weeks at least... I'm not trying to kick anyone out here, I just want to make sure they still care...

I'm still here! Please don't kick me out! I can't access the site at work :surfweb: so don't get on too much!

It's my birthday on the last day...I'll be crushed if you kick me out :sad2::guilty:

Great to hear from ya! I think some of us are a lot more luckier at work and can check this site all day...

I sent my request to join the group on Facebook but didn't get anything back. Not sure if it didn't make it:confused3. Can someone repost the link?

I don't think your request went through. Someone in the group has to approve you. I don't see any friend requests. You may want to try again.

I bought a new dress for formal night, and that's about it. Since this is our 5th Disney Cruise, and 6th cruise overall, the cool part of buying all new stuff, has sorta gone away. Plus we travel quite a bit, so I've kinda got a section of my closet and house that is just for travel. :)

LOL, yeah, I'm not so secret about it either!! So I now carry all my makeup and hair tools in a backpack and carry it on... Are you kidding, I'm not letting ANYONE get my makeup or GHD lost or stolen! NO WAY! :rotfl2: My DH thinks it's a little funny, my "personal" item for the plane is a backpack packed so full you can barely get it shut and it is all makeup, hair tools, oh and usually I tote around the headphones and plane stuff.

We won't kick you out!!!!!!!!!!

OMG Sophie is Boo!!!!!!!!! I love it!!!!!

That costume nearly did me in! Like I said on facebook, I can sew, but I'm no pro and I can't sew quickly. That thing took forever and a day, but it was TOTALLY worth it. Even when she wasn't in it, people wanted to take pictures next to it. We ran into another toddler dressed as Sully, they were SUPER cute together.

OMG, one of my makeup artist friends was forced to check her rolling cart of makeup (the size of a large carry-on), they broke it! She was so angry, she now drives to as many photo shoots as possible. She only flies when forced to.

Hmm, maybe I'll need to invest in a rolling makeup case... (going on ebay now)

P.S. I get better prices on ghd than you do even after your employee discount (if you're ever in socal, and want more hair supplies, let me know). There's a supply shop 5 minutes from me, 10 minutes from Disneyland. I haven't used either, what would you recommend, Sultra or ghd all the way?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :dance3:

Nothing really special for us. Some new swimsuits for the girls, maybe a dress or two...

Well I have both. LOL :rotfl2: For curling, Sultra Bombshell for sure!!! It's amazing!!! For straightening, GHD... I have pretty dang long hair, and I can stick straight straighten my hair is 9 mins from start to finish. And people are always like wow, did you go to the salon? Nope, it's my GHD... ohhh yes, I may need to go with you to this place!!!

Yes, a rolling one would be pretty cool!!! I don't carry too much liquids which is why I can take it all as a carry on. I mean I have my baggie stuffed like crazy with the liquids I do have, but so long as they can't touch all my other stuff, I'm fine. :)

Ahhhh now I want both! I can get both from this shop. It's called Cosmoprof. OMG you should have been in town for December. They had a sale all month where the ghd (the exact same one from Sephora) was under $100!! And I had a coupon, spend $60, get $10 off.

Ha ha, I just took a friend yesterday, and I have to go back next week. DH tried my Living Proof large bottle with a pump, and now he wants a pump for his shampoo and conditioner. They're sold out of his till next week.

Seriously, if you have time post-cruise, save some room in your luggage, you're coming with me to Cosmoprof! Hair and nail goodies galore. Hair and makeup lovers need to stick together :-)

Happy birthday Linda!!!!:bday:party:

Are you making any special purchases for the cruise?

I've made a few small purchases so far, like my AWESOME camera/card holder thingie! (yes, that IS the technical term! )
I'll be on the hunt this week for new flip flops for everyone (will probably have to order them online since you can't find flip flops in the Tundra this time of year! :umbrella:)

I will be going on a shop for some clothes, but other than that, I think we're all set! ;)
