Feb.4,2006. Who else is sailing?

Hello... :wave2: Where did everyone go?? We actually fell to the 2nd page! Quick poll...anyone have a suggestion for a "cheap" hotel near port for the night before. We're booked at the Radisson but we're discussing other options so maybe we can afford to just park right at the port.

Anyway, we're definately in the home stretch!

:cool1:  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Get me to that ship! :moped:

Laura

:cool1: 7 night cruise to the Eastern carribean---- $3000.
Several long, cold draft beers-------------$ 40.00.
Watching my Pittsburgh Steelers win the Super Bowl on the Dumbotron while on the top deck of a cruise ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.--------------------------------------------- priceless!!!!!!!!!

Steve

Well, now I don't have to buy another Panthers shirt for my husband and myself. I can't believe that the team we are used to seeing didn't even show up at the stadium in Seattle. So now it is time to cheer on the Steelers!

Anyway, yea, where has everyone gone? I can't believe that I had to go to the second page to find us. What will happen next week when all of you are already on your way or at WDW?

As far as hotels, I do not know of a really inexpensive one. We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express closest to the port. We have points that we use. We have stayed there before and it worked out really well. It is next door to a Publix grocery store.

I can't believe that the weekend is over already. Why do they go so quickly and the weekdays seem to sometimes trickle by?

Well, is everybody ready for a great time? It will be funny when we check in to the terminal and we may be standing right next to each other and won't know. It will be nice to meet all of you.

Oh, you'll all know me -- I'll be the blonde screaming at my kids to stop climbing on the replica of the ship. :rolleyes2

Y'know, it's a good thing I don't really care about football, or I'd be feeling quite the outcast right now, being from the Seattle area and all... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Nevertheless, should the Seahawks win, some Steelers fans should buy me a drink or something... :thumbsup2

I think there are quite a few of us on deck 6, BTW. We're in 6092. I seem to recall several other people on this thread are on deck 6. We should claim it as the official DIS Deck for this cruise.

So get this -- I decided to go to the pirate store on the Seattle waterfront TODAY to get stuff for Pirate Night. There's a cool store, called Pirate's Plunder, on the waterfront. Fairly close to Seahawks Stadium. Or Quest Field, whatever the heck it's called these days. Anyhow, do you get how CLUELESS I am??? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: But I got the stuff I wanted. It took us FOREVER to find a parking spot that didn't cost an arm and a leg (speaking of piracy). And our favorite restaurant was filled with pre-game Seahawks fans screaming at the Steelers / Colts game that was on TV... :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Oh Dee - you are obviously quite :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 because the Steelers played the DENVER BRONCOS yesterday, not the Colts. Ah - but we will take pity on you, oh football clueless one, and invite you into our circle to do remedial play-by-play while we're up on the deck rooting for the Steelers! :grouphug:

Laura - tough call on a "cheap" hotel; while I understand the Radisson is a little more expensive, I think most of the other hotels in PC and Cocoa Beach are in the same range. I suggest checking hotels.com to see what they come up with for the best rate.

I didn't get to pack yesterday!!! :sad1: Too busy watching football!! Now it will be a crazy weekend coming up...

We will be wearing matching t-shirts with Dee's design - revised to reflect we're actually sailing in 2006, and not 2005!! (Dee- just a friendly jab - you'll have to hear that one from us for just a little while... :goodvibes)

My family pretty much nixed the matching shirts idea. Actually, my dh said, "Whatever you really want", which means, in husband speak, "If you make me do this, I will go ahead with it, but I'll make sure to tell embarrassing stories about you at brunch."

This may have been discussed already but with 42 pages to look through I'll just ask. Of the folks with 10yo girls are you allowing check in and out privlages? I'm not sure wht to do- I really don't want her to run around by self but if she ids with friends she makes I don't want her not to be able to do something with them. Also are they allowed to swim with out a parent? How deep is the pool?
I started gathering things this weekend-I can't beleive it is almost here. I booked in nov.04. A looong wait.
Anyone else just going to Great Bay at St. Martin? I think we'll do that until 1 or so take DD back to ship then go shop and maybe Casino.
Which Doubloon are you on SteveandTonya-We are on the afternoon one.
See you alll soon!!

I'm actually not a "matching t-shirt" kind of person myself, but thought it would be fun for this. And for our welcome aboard picture in the entryway.

Hey - are you in DC yet? Weather forecast: Rainy today, but sunny the rest of the week with highs in high 40's or low 50's. Which is great for us since it's usually in the 30's this time of year!! :woohoo:

No -- it's been moved to the 1st, and maybe to the 7th. Obviously, I was quite insistent that if it was the 7th, they'd be doing the meeting without me!

This is my first cruise and of course had to go Disney - we're avid WDWers. I'm traveling with my two boys (just 3 of us) - so basically I'll be solo :) I was wondering if there are any other 13 and 15 yo boys out there :rolleyes1 . How about a meet and greet for the adults or whole families? Our tentative plans, we're early seating, we're on deck seven and I am planning on one dive for myself (probably the shipwreck dive in St. Thomas). :woohoo: 12 more days! Can't wait!

Pam,

We are letting our DS10 check himself out of the kids club, but with strict
guidelines. We need to know where he is at all times. We are bringing walkie talkies so he can let us know when he is leaving and where he is going. I figure we have to let him have that little bit of independence. Of course if he breaks the rules, the privledge will be taken away. I guess my advice is you have to know your own kid-if he /she seems to be the type to "take the ball and run" then maybe it's best to think twice. I'm sure you'll know what the best decision for you will be.

Hi - I also have been lurking! We will also be staying at the Radisson on Friday the 3rd and taking the shuttle to the port! We have a DD11 and DS9 and are traveling with another family that has a DS9 and DD6. We also have main dining and will be staying in room 7004. We have our pirate costumes, are truly psyched to watch the super bowl on the "Dumbotron" and have made our door magnets - about 12 and counting so far! It sure looks like we could start the party at the Radisson on Friday and just continue it at the terminal and onto the boat on Saturday! :cool1: See you soon! Shari

We are spending two night at the Nick Hotel before the cruise. I have read so many mixed reviews that I don't have high expectations.

My sister is staying at the Radisson at the port. She needs to take the shuttle to the port. Does anyone know who you call to make reservations or can you just wait until you arrive?
