Feb.4,2006. Who else is sailing?

SBatty,

I called about 30 days out and made the shuttle reservation, as was STRONGLY recommended in a lot of postings that I have read.

I'd call as soon as possible because they fill up fast. You can always take a taxi if you need to, though.

I just figured out how to post a photo. I thought it might be fun to start putting names and faces together. I would love it if others would post pictures as well.

This picture was taken this summer.

Yes, it did grow quite a bit huh?

We can always stack people out on the verandah!

Maybe its time to call the concierge back!

Hello All! It is so fun to say, "Oh, we leave for our trip next week." WOOOHOOO!

Bill,
Did everyone on the list RSVP? It will be quite a group.

I started putting things aside for the trip. I printed off the "Packing list" from the boards. I would need a couple of trunks for all of that stuff.

Have any of you been reading the other threads about high seas? I have cruised in Feb. before and don't remember it being bad at all. I bought the large box of Bonine. I cruised on the Wonder with my mom last in 2004 in Sept. It was pretty rocky and I survived. I am praying for some great weather!

I am ready to sit back and relax.

This may have been discussed already but with 42 pages to look through I'll just ask. Of the folks with 10yo girls are you allowing check in and out privlages? I'm not sure wht to do- I really don't want her to run around by self but if she ids with friends she makes I don't want her not to be able to do something with them. Also are they allowed to swim with out a parent? How deep is the pool?
I started gathering things this weekend-I can't beleive it is almost here. I booked in nov.04. A looong wait.
Anyone else just going to Great Bay at St. Martin? I think we'll do that until 1 or so take DD back to ship then go shop and maybe Casino.
Which Doubloon are you on SteveandTonya-We are on the afternoon one.
See you alll soon!!

We are on the afternoon Doubloon sail in St Thomas too. My daughter Delaney will be glad to have someone her age to hang out with on that. We also are thinking of going to Great Bay in St Martin also. Not quite sure how to get to it but I guess it is close to where the water taxi drops you off. We probably allow some moderate checking out priveledge for delaney. She did ok with it 2 years ago.

Kat is in green, I'm in red / white. This was the 2003 DVC cruise. I have short hair now.

Here's our picture from 18 months ago - but it's the only one I have on line. Mark now has spiked hair and a goatee, and Ryan's hair is shorter. Makes me realize we have to have more family photos taken of us!

Aaaaaah! I'm running out of time to shop and pack!

Wow. Pre-cruise jitters. Ouch.

It's funny how it will all come together - particularly if you don't sleep between now and next Saturday...

I don't think we actually have a full family photo, so two will have to suffice:

Both from Pirate/Tropical Night last year:

( :rotfl2: Of course, I post these AFTER noting that my dh didn't want to wear matching t-shirts when we board!!!)

We are letting our DS, who is 10, have check out privileges. He too will be under strict orders to let us know when he is checking out. He will also have a 2 way radio to communicate with us.

Does anyone know if you can buy any kind of pirate accessories pirate: on board the ship for the kids for the dinner and party??? AND are your children dressing up for pirate night??? :confused3
Jeanette

I don't know about pirate accessories onboard but I know our kids are dressing up (the whole family is!). DD11 has a black tiered skirt from Old Navy with white puffy shirt and corset from previous Halloween costume. We had lots of fun putting that together! We even found boot covers to make shoes look like lace up boots. For DS9 we purchased a boys pirate costume off of Ebay. We have lots of pirate bandanas, eye patches, earrings and tatoos! :cool2: pirate:

We are all dressing up too for pirate night-If I knew how to post a picture i could show our outfits- We practiced pirate: for Halloween this year.

I tried to put in a couple of photos. But I must be having a brain freeze cause I can't figure out how to do it. Oh well.

I am so tired today. I hope that I can build up some stamina in the next few days. Just thinking about all the stuff I have to do to get ready is wearing me out. And I have not even started getting things together for my substitute teacher. As stated before, it will all get done...BUT WHEN?

I bought a new digital camera and I have not learned how to use it yet. I know that I can POINT and SHOOT but it does have a little more to it than that. I will let Cal take the photos I guess.

Has anyone ever done those special pictures that I cannot think of the name of in the lobby with the white background? I was wondering what a good color would be to wear for those.

Also, might I remind everyone that I am soooo jealous of those of you that are leaving for your trip before me.

I guess I will go upstairs and work out. I hope I don't fall asleep on the machine.

Hi - I also have been lurking! We will also be staying at the Radisson on Friday the 3rd and taking the shuttle to the port! We have a DD11 and DS9 and are traveling with another family that has a DS9 and DD6. We also have main dining and will be staying in room 7004. We have our pirate costumes, are truly psyched to watch the super bowl on the "Dumbotron" and have made our door magnets - about 12 and counting so far! It sure looks like we could start the party at the Radisson on Friday and just continue it at the terminal and onto the boat on Saturday! :cool1: See you soon! Shari

Okay, I'm new to all of this, so, I now understand that I need to prepare for pirate nite, but what's the deal with the magnets? Is that a private thing or a DCL thing? :confused3

Jeanette

We bought pirate stuff for Ryan on board last year - hat, hook hand, pirate knife, eye patch and telescope. Probably $25+ for the whole thing. I strongly suggest going to a party store now and bringing it with you - we went to Party City last week for stuff for Katherine and us (eye patches, earrings, hats - not the black three pointed one, but it's more like a skull cap like what the deck hands on a pirate ship would wear. Does that make sense?). Anyway - we don't have full costumes, just accessories. And I also suggest Glow Sticks, bracelets, necklaces, etc. for pirate night too. Also picked up at Party City- all for much less than what you'd spend on board. pirate: pirate:

The door sign/magnet thing is more like a DIS board member thing. We downloaded a bunch of clip art and made signs for every day. Mine aren't as fancy as Dee's - I didn't use a graphics program for backgrounds and stuff. So ours are plain white background, with clip art and Disney font stuff. And I just printed them on regular paper and will try to get them laminated before we go. Then will add magnetic tape to the back to hang them.

AAAAAH!!! Just realized how much more I have to do. Need to take off from work an extra week... :scared1:
