Feb.4,2006. Who else is sailing?

Hello

I am not sure where we are supposed to post either...

But this blank piece of cyberspace will do. :)

We got back yesterday after a couple of days in the park. We had a wonderful time also, and it was so great to meet fellow disniacs.

During our time in the parks we went on the new Expedition Everest ride and it was truly brilliant. The attention to detail and story telling is superb.

The deal onboard we had was a 200 dollar shipboard credit for the next cruise and 10% off the price. So we went ahead and booked a western 7 day for January 06. :yay:

Already pining for the next cruise and the opportunity to be lulled asleep by the motion of the ship and the sounds of the waves against the hull and the creaking of the clothes closet. Then to wake up in the morning and sit on our veranda as another beautiful island comes into view.

see you all again soon

  We booked the same week but this time we plan to try and bring along a set of grandparents. Unfortunately we did not make to the DIS meet but I feel that since I have lurked here for so long I might as well jump in!  I think though that the January 6 cruise might be an Eastern............ :confused3

I've decided the only way to cope with the post-vacation blues is to treat the gaps between cruises as really long (and sometimes un-inspiring) shore excursions.

We re-booked the January 13 07 Western (my sweet but bewildered husband had his dates mixed up) while onboard...got 10% plus the $200 shipboard credit. I had done my homework and got a Dreams Unlimited quote for that specific cruise beforehand, and it turned out the re-book onboard price was about $200 lower than the DU price. I like DU...in fact we used them to book our April 30 Wonder 4 day cruise with my kids, but it turned out the onboard re-booking price was substantially less for the 7 day next January.

As John said, we had a lovely cruise let-down buffer at Wilderness Lodge and in the parks...Expedition Everest was one wild ride (my innards are still trying to settle back in their original locations after riding it twice in two hours). We were lucky, because we went to Animal Kingdom early Sunday morning to ride the new beast and it was shutting down at 2 until April for a bit of final touches. There was a message on our phone at WL alerting of the 2 pm closure the night before...good thing!

We had a really long wait between cruises before this last one we just took, so it was particularly joyful to be able to book Palo and my son into the kids club for the Wonder cruise the first day we got home!

What a pleasure to meet everyone at the Dis gathering the first day, and how fortunate we feel to have been able to forge new friendships with our wild and crazy tablemates, Dee and Kat and Heather and Jeremiah. Though we live far apart, I have no doubts our paths will "sail" across each other's sometime in the future.

Safe travels to everyone still not home...

Now transfer the ressie to DU and you'll get even more///I think another 200 bucks...

I already transferred the 2 ressies I made onboard.
