Well we just had a bad thunder storm at 10:30 tonight..... :goodvibes I can't ever remember thunder and lightning in January in Pennsylvania..... :worship: Now I know it's time for a cruise......Superbowl on a cruise.........WOW party: STEVE

Here in DC too - thunder, lightning, and snow flurries. Very weird...

I have been reading the cruise reports from people that are cruising the Magic this week and they say the are having rough seas. For anyone that has cruised during this time before did they have they same experience?? ANd if so how did your children handle it???

Well - I wasn't planning to buy motion sickness medicine, but maybe I should??? We didn't have a problem last year, but the seas were pretty calm most of the time. There was one day that the water was sloshing over the sides of the pool, but it wasn't really a problem. I guess I should get something just in case... :worried:

They are saying that this week on the Magic they have had 8-13 ft waves and last week on the Magic they had 13-20 ft waves. I just don't want the kids getting sea sick. My husband and I where on the Magic on our honeymoon and left right after a hurricane in Oct. 1998 and the we had very rough seas and took no medication and did not get sick. I think I am going to bring some med. for the kids just to be on the safe side!!!

We had choppy seas on our honeymoon cruise (December). I recall being VERY nauseous when I was in a room with no windows, but other than that, I had no issues.

We had no kids at the time, so I can't speak to the child issue.

I'm bringing some real ginger snaps and crystallized ginger. Not sure what else to do.

We are getting very excited...we leave on Saturday (yeah -- in like 3 days!) and we are all packed and it's in the car, covered, so my mom doesn't see us packed up for a vacation (since it's a surprise to her all together...she obviousbly doesn't know we are going anywhere).

I packed her gown, she will have no idea it's missing from 'the downstairs' closet. I was sleuthing around her room the other night at 2:30 AM when she and Dstepdad were asleep...I had my cell phone for a really soft light and I was snooping in her jewelry box to get the matching jewelry she has to go wth this gown...that she hasn't worn since my wedding 2 years ago (the jewelry really only goes with this dress). Then, we were in the stores the other day, DH and I, and I got her a swimsuit (she will be bringing some already to "go see the inlaws in FL", but I thought a new one would be so nice to make her feel good about us pulling the wool over her eyes for this trip and not giving her notice of what to pack. LOL I also got her a sunhat (something she probably won't be packing for the trip) and a new pair of evening gown shoes I found on clearance to complete her formal outfit without noticing a pair of shoes missing from her collection. I also found a pair of sandals at Payless on clearance for $3 and got those too, just because.

We are so excited for the cruise and in 3 days when we leave for WDW, we are pretty secure that our 2-year secret will make it and we can do the grand reveal!!

I thought we were chatty, but then I saw that the September Wonder thread had over a thousand replies. Sheesh!

I woke up at 4 this morning and packed all of our just-in-case medicine and the like. When my dh got up, he said, "Wait. You already bagged up the medicine?" like i was crazy. When I told him I was planning on packing everything this weekend, he just stared at me like I had 2 heads.

Hi, Everyone

I'm already watching the 10 day forecast to see whether I need to start panicking about a Chicago snowstorm on the day of our departure (Feb 3). So far nothing scary, but we're still too far out to breathe easily yet.

We partially packed last weekend and will finish this weekend (I needed my suitcase for my trip to Virginia or we would be packed already). I come home tomorrow night.

Not long now....

Last year we told the kids we were just going to visit the Wonder, but we could not get on. They bought it and I couldnt take it anymore and let them in on it as we left the Grand Floridian for the Port. I should have waited. They didn't believe me!

TigerB - I can't imagine how you will feel when you all get close to the Port and she realizes what's actually happening! I can't wait to hear about her reaction!

Marcy - you are NOT crazy, DH is crazy to think you can work all this week and next and not start getting ready already. I would say to teach him a lesson, let HIM do all the packing, but I realize that would probably be a HUGE mistake. Can't imagine what you and the kids would be wearing every day... :rotfl2:

I laid out my and Katie's clothes last night, and will work on Ryan's tonight. Ryan wants to bring his Power Ranger costume, since Katie is bringing her Princess Costume for formal night. How to talk him out of that one?? :worried:

Oh how will I ever get any work done for the next 5 work days?? :rolleyes1

My husband can't believe that I have started packing already as well. When he can't find something he asks me if I packed it already. I actually have only packed the kids clothes so far. He thinks I am crazy but he only packs for himself and has no idea of what needs to be done before we leave. I wonder if he even knows what day we are leaving??? :rotfl2: Well the countdown is on and I have (COUNTING TODAY) 5 more days of work! I plan on calling out sick Thursday because I have to take 2 dogs to kennel and I would like to make sure our house is organized before we leave and do remaining laundry that needs to be done to finish packing. Our flight leaves on Friday around 11am and then we are on our way to the Wilderness Lodge for the night! :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

Argh - bad day at work!!! I could be home packing instead of dealing with this!!! Is there a cruise ship leaving right now I can hop onto??? :moped:

I guess since my email is out, I'll just have to surf the DIS boards... :surfweb:

Ahh, now I get it. Thanks for the info on the magnets. So if I can find the time to make some magnets how do I know who is a DIS Boarder to share them with? :bounce:

You don't share the magnets -- you put them on your cabin door. ;)
