Feb.4,2006. Who else is sailing?

I contacted Julia and found out that they are still cruising at the same time but not on DCL. I guess we should remove them from our DIS list.

YES! That's the first thing I said when I woke up this morning!

I took dd1 shopping for dresses on Sunday -- big clearance at Dillard's. She's all set for 3 nights of big girl dress up clothes, including formal night -- all for under $40. princess:

Ok everyone next month at this time we will be enjoying our first day at sea!!!!! :cool1: I am so excited and so looking forward to getting out of New Jersey!!!! Let's all hope for great weather!!! :Pinkbounc

Hi - Holidays had us out of communication for a while, but we are back and looking forward to the trip more than anything.

1. Yes, we would love to stop by the cabin party on Embarkation day at 2:30, cabin 8532 if it's on!

2. Is there a brunch? We've tried making Palo brunch ressies and I check everyday but they are booked and no cancellations are popping up. So, if there's a brunch and there's room for we 4 adults, we'd love to attend too!

When I get home, I will check the http://members.cox.net/feb_4_dcl_ea.../dcl_meet_2.htm website someone listed (blocked here at work).

Other than that, we are doing well with the trip plans, just HAVE to get those cabana massages at CC when we board...we missed out when we could have booked online - they are all gone already.

I can't wait to go shopping - for ME. Nevermind DD!! :rotfl:
Seriously - she and I will both go this weekend. Gotta love the post-holiday sales, coupons, etc. :wizard:

Are others interested in a back room group brunch? If so, I will call DCL and see what they can do. You'll have to give me your names, cabin numbers, and we'll all need to figure out a day and time. I think brunch in the back room could be a blast.

PM me with your names and cabin info, if you don't want to post it publically on the Board. (If this helps at all, I'm not an axe murderer or stalker, although I am an attorney, which may be scarier to some than the former options.)

EDIT: I just called, and they don't need your names or cabins, but do need the total number of guests. I can put the info together that is needed to fax to inventory control if we can all agree on who and when! :Pinkbounc

Also, the inventory control person starts looking at the requests 30 days before sailing, so our timing is right on if we do it now. (I'm not sure the customer service person was supposed to tell me that part, but I'm quite convincing. :teeth: )

When I called DCL they gave me a name in Inventory Control I have to fax. I was told the back room can only be reserved through that person. I was going to do it today -- the room can accomodate up to 14 people. Marcy, if you have different info, let me know. I don't want to bombard DCL with crazy Feb 4 DISers looking for Palo brunch in the back room! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Yes -- that's exactly what she told me -- 10 to 14 people. My dh and I would love to do it, pretty much any day.

Here's the info she said the person ("Hassle-Free Specialist/Palo" -- hahahaha) would need:

res number
reason for the request
sail date
# guests
contact name and #
e-mail or fax

I have PALO brunch reserved already, but I have been in contact with the Concierge onboard already and maybe we can get it accomplished this way.

I assume on a sea day?

I got an email from the Concierge manager on the Magic.

We are good to go with canapes, finger sandwiches, etc for our meet in the cabin. They already were going to have some of the amenities there but not for this many people so I asked them to bring alot more.

I told them I need it for about 40 people.

They will have it ready but are charging me $1.75 a person... so Ill have the tip jar handy in case anyone wants to help me defray the cost!

I think Dee is faxing it in as we speak.

Do we expect more than 14 people to do this? If so, we may need to do 2 separate ones.

Bill, you are making me want to book a Cat 3 next time very badly -- you're a bad influence! pirate:

That's too bad . . . I thought I read on the boards that they don't charge at all for that kind of setup in the suites.

If you have a PayPal account, I'm more than happy to send you half of the total cost of the shindig now . . . I'd pay $35 just to hang out in the suite for a bit! :rotfl:

OK, how about Feb 5 (my birthday!) at 11:30?

Ill send the concierge an email and see if they can do it...... and if someone wants to work on another method... maybe we can get this done one way or the other!

Or more than one way -- I'd do brunch EVERY day! :goodvibes

Seriously, bruch at Palo is one of my favorite things -- maybe it's because native New Yorkers love their brunches, and I haven't had a good one in 10 years (since moving to Florida) except at Palo!

Marcy (who is very talkative today because of the excitement and worries about how bad she'll get in the next month)

I'm a little dizzied by all of the postings about brunch, but if there is space, the Story party (3 adults) would be interested in a Palo brunch.

Just let me know if you need anything from us.

And BillinAz - we're looking forward to the party in your cabin and will be sure to contribute to the tip jar!

Mark

I am not sure where you stand on your 14 limit but I have 3 more that would like to join in. If there isn't room for 3 I can always leave my DH or SIS behind. ;)

OK, I faxed the request. I asked for Bill's b-day (2/5) as first choice, since he deserves it! Otherwise, I asked for any available date -- brunches are only on at sea days. I'll let you know when I hear anything.

Bill, Marcy's idea of PayPal would work for me too :) Otherwise, I'll chip in when we get on board!

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!

So I have to ask -- what's a SIS? I've never seen this acronym before. Unless you meant sis?

Thats what I thought.... but I think it might be because of the number of people.

Yes, I do have a paypal account using my main email address, but they charge you to use it!

I think the best plan is just having a jar there for anyone to drop in a couple of bucks if they care to.

We need to save enough time for the sail away party! I need to get photos of the kids enjoying themselves there!
