The thing that makes NO sense to me, is that Christmas seems to get here faster and faster each year, (and each year I feel less prepared! HA!) but does waiting for a Disney trip end faster each time, NOOOO, in fact, I think each subsequent trip wait seems even longer!

We are surprising ours too!!! They will of course figure it out during our 5 hr flight so figuring out how to tell them when the time comes

We go every year but they are expecting Summer as usual.

It is hard!!! Sometimes I sort of forget and go to ask my husband something about our trip and then have to stop midway through and make something else up!! Luckily my kids are oblivious!

Just booked Feb 12-16 at Candy Cane Inn. Will do 5 day parkhoppers, although the 12th and 16th will be short days for us. May buy an AP on the 16th.

It's our first trip to DL & DCA!

We'll be there 2/17-2/22, staying at Desert Palms Hotel & Suites.

Grandparents are surprising the kiddos there 2/18-2/22 as well.
Can't wait to walk into Goofy's Kitchen with the munchkins (DD-8, DS-6) and have them see Grandpa D and Grandma L!

We still haven't told the kids yet...it's getting more and more difficult to keep this trip quiet!

I know there are 2 different approaches - tell the kids or surprise them at the last minute. I'm more of the tell the kids in advance, have a calendar on the wall counting down the days (it's now at 25), and do Disney activities. My daughter, 5, has loved every minute talking about going to Disney the past month. We bought a 3-D Disneyland puzzle, and she put it together, with my help, she's reading the Disneyland and California Adventure maps at night, she's learning geography (where Disneyland is compared to where we live), etc.

I wondered why other people surprise their kids at the last minute? Surprise them, sure, but some people love the days leading up to something, makes the memories last longer (to me)

She does know she's going, she just thinks she has to wait an additional six months.

Can't wait to surprise her the day before we go!! I wonder if I'm even going to sleep the night before the reveal.

That's fun! We did that on our last trip!! The kids knew we were going, they just thought we had a lot longer to wait! We woke them up early in the morning and said "It's TIME!!" It was great!! Have a blast!!
