Fears about the Hollywood Studios announcement

I'd love a Muppets dining spot near MuppetVision. It could even be themed to the Swedish chef.
Yes the Swedish Chef would be amazing! I want Sweetums to be around too just like he is in the show.

I'm more so scared for what's staying. I'm already devastated hearing rumors about One Man's Dream and if Muppets closes that would be a huge blow to me as well.

I am concerned about the announcements as well, with your same concerns as to how much is dedicated to Star Wars and Pixar. It's not that we won't get amazing rides out of those two, but Disney also has so much else to offer. I would love a Wreck-It Ralph ride as well as that Tron coaster Shanghai is getting. But only time will tell

Well, remember that there are some good Pixar attractions that are not in the off the shelf category. Monsters Inc. has two versions, one at DCA and another in Tokyo... and you also have Crush's Coaster and Ratatouille...

I forgot about the Monsters Inc in Toyko, I would be happy for something like that. I have personal issues with Ratatouille in Paris and Monsters Inc DCA so I am hoping those won't show up. I would also love for Remy and Emile to be used in a new France pavilion attraction, something like "A Short Look at Paris". Of course I have my own personal wish list for rides at HS.

I'm tired of the Muppets show but losing them would be a big blow. I hope that they will keep them around but now I'm worried too.

Muppet Vision 3D needs to be replaced, the over use of Waldo makes the attraction seem very dated to me. The space between LMA and Star Tours seems too ripe for Star Wars expansion. I can't see Muppets staying where they are though. I do hope they do survive somewhere in the park though.

I highly doubt we'll get any carbon copies of the Cars stuff from DCA. RSR is a Test Track clone. You don't want two of the exact same ride with different skins within the same property, plus I'm sure Disney wants Cars Land to stay unique to the West Coast.

I honestly have no idea what will be announced but I agree with a PP. As a local, I want things to come quickly. Not without sacrificing quality, but at least as fast as Universal's been churning things out.

I'm not opposed to reusing the same technology with different themes but my major concern is that the primary changes will simply be moving in clones of existing rides. I don't have a lot of faith in the current leaderships creative vision as they've kind of shown their primary idea of growth is buying something that someone else built up or finding new ways to build restaurants and gift shops as part of their giant expansions.

HS is in sad shape and I'm not sure we'll get much of anything out of D23. There may be some fluff talk but I'd suspect more will be released about Pandora than HS.

. I would love a Wreck-It Ralph ride as well as that Tron coaster Shanghai is getting.

I discounted a Wreck It Ralph ride because of Universal getting Nintendo, but upon a rewatch I realized Nintendo was pretty limited in it. So hopes for Wreck it Ralph are back on. As for the tron coaster there was some talk about it being tweaked into the Endor Speeder Bikes.

Radiator Springs Racers, Test Track and Journey to the Center of the Earth are the same ride system but not clones. They are not as close as Indy and Dinosaurs are. As Pete has said a few times on the show and I looked also the foot print of cars land fits perfectly over the LMA/Catastrophe Canyon space. As for the uniqueness I have a crazy theory regarding the American Parks. Disney thinks the average American Tourist will only visit one of the parks. They will pick either Disneyland or WDW and never visit the other. When it comes to foreign tourist both WDW and Disneyland have a unique quality to them. Add that in to the expense and effort in getting to the parks; seeing familiar rides is more forgivable. But that's just my own crazy thought process on why they not afraid to reuse attractions.

I hate that oft-repeated sentiment. Have your ridden RSR? RSR is as much a TT clone as Pirates of the Carribean is an It's A Small World clone.

That said, I would rather something else than RSR come to DHS.

Not that I disagree with you...cause I really don't...

But if you look up radiator springs racers...wiki says "technology originally developed for test track in Walt Disney world"

They are the same cars (version 2.0)...

Now, they put it together well and have a hit ride...but it's been 5 years...cars is 10 years old - and has become a cheap Chinese toy franchise after the original movie - which was very good...

And eventually "vrrmmm vrrmmm" cars aren't gonna be the draw they have been... That world is changing.

You see where Ima going here?

A clone of RSR is the same kinda no risk, unimaginative move that has become typical of the central committee...

No stones.

That's why I don't want it. Plus it (for the 6,000,000th time) would NEVER WORK WITH THE CROWDS AND WEATHER IN FLORIDA

Here's my bets for the "big announcement":
1. Not much
2. Disney's Hollywood clone world.
3. Avatar deets...only 4 years in the making at this point... T - 2 years out.

I'd take #2...gun to my head...at least it's something. But I would lose more faith in parks...which is becoming chronic.

Didnt they make muppets from space in the 90's???

Yes but it's not a Star Wars parody. And definitely not the greatest Muppet movie to use in parks. Muppet Treasure Island, Muppets Take Manahattan (use Streets of America), or any of the other movies (Muppets Christmas Carol type show at Xmas time?) would work in here. I like that you used the sci-fi tie in though.

I don't know, with the muppets making a comeback of sorts in recent years (especially with a new tv show in the fall), surely Disney would want to keep them around! You'd think, anyway.

Granted, I do think the current attraction is a bit tired if you've seen it a lot, but it's still cute and entertaining, and I always welcome a cool place to sit!
My kids love the muppets - hopefully they wont disappear..

Don't forget Shanghai as well.

1. Shanghai
2. Avatar
3. DHS vague details that basically say we're doing something but we're not going to tell you anything.

I would like to point out at 2013s D23, Disney got out ahead of itself and said before the convention even started that there would be no big announcements at parks and resorts. SO far, they have not made that same statement for this year. I still think you'll see something big coming.

No one will be completely happy with it. Some will be unhappy with what gets closed. Some will want "more" regardless of how massive it is.

But face it, the park is a mess. A major overhaul can be nothing but a good thing, regardless of what favorite attraction gets closed.

They didn't even have a large parks and resorts segment in 2013. This year they have a 90 minute presentation led by Bob Chapek.
