Favorite "splurge" souvenir for kids

If your dd is 3 by the time if your trip, going all out at BBB with photos is a nice splurge. I don't know a lot of 2 yo's that need a handbag, but the pickapearl was a good idea. You can put that aside for her until she is older.

Or you can always let the grandparents spoil her rotten and not worry about a souvenir from mom and dad.

well we have certain souvies we get each time we go...oldest daughter gets Christmas ornaments, youngest daughter gets a snowglobe and son usually differs on what he gets he likes to get a beach towel or some kind of clothing item he is 17 so he is a little harder to shop for and with

Not really splurge, but I simply love the silhouettes you can get for $8 or so on main street (buy the frame too it's only $8 and really completes it). You get 2 copies. I wish I had know about this when we first went as I would have liked one of my kids from every trip! Instead I only found out on our last trip.

How about a really nice snow globe. We have been collecting these since 1997, when we first went there with my stepson. We get one everytime we go to WDW and usually get the year on it and one that plays music. We have quite a collection and we keep them all out all the time.

I second this- I snowglobes and we always have a great time picking out the best one to take home. Just be careful and read the rules if you're flying home

I agree on snowglobe, have it shipped home from the store, and I don't know a single toddler who doesn't love to shake a snowglobe!

We do the Christmas ornaments. Each trip we each get a personalized ornament to hang on the tree. My tree is now totally Disney ornaments from our trips - and we have a 10' tree . Each time we go to Downtown Disney the boys know we are hitting the Christmas shop and they each go off searching for their perfect ornament. The boys love getting them out when we are decorating each year and remembering each trip's special memories. When my boys move out and have a family of their own I will pack up their ornaments and hand them down to their family. We can then start a new tradition with my children and grandchildren.

I second pick a pearl. it's nice thing for a souvenier...
i did that on my last trip and got the new clam thing to put it on. Although i haven't worn it in a while, i might wear it to my cousin's wedding in july.

another good souvenier that you use a lot is the Walt Disney World travel bag w/ wheels. Its good for a carry on on the plane and easy to roll from the room. .

one last good souvenier that you'll probably use a lot will be a beach towel. i get one every year i go. my first one was a patriotic towel with the USA flag with mickey goofy and donald. Then a bluish towel with a lot of characters from Hollywood Studios. Then my 3rd one was Sorcerer Mickey in front of the four theme park icons with a black background (found @ Pop Century). They are good shower towels and beach towels.

Key Chains can also be a good thing. you can always use it on your key chain and remember your trip. i found a bendable mickey and minnie keychain that looks like the old mickey and minnie from the early days. It's cute. (However i almost lost the mickey because the chain came undone. but luckily i found him w/o the chain in the store so he's in my drawer).

I remember a long time ago a store in the Germany pavilion sold NICE (customized???? I forget...) dolls. Do they still do that? She'll be almost at the point where she can play with dolls and not destroy them (aka not chew their nose off or turn their hair into a rats nest).

DS always gets pressed pennies, and DD gets pins. (usually buy just one or two at the parks, but I get more at the outlet stores for her to trade).

this time around, DD got graduation Mickey ears. DS bought a set of drumsticks from RNRC.

Anyone know how much the monorail playset it? We have the castle (do they sell replacement people for that? LOL). I think the monorail would be fun to add to it!

We do ornaments. I never thought of it, but the first time we took my oldest dd, we went with my brother and his wife. We were celebrating dd's first birthday. They got her a pink ornament with Minnie on top, and it has her name, the date, and say's First Birthday in Disney. I just love it! So ever since then, we are sure to get an ornament. I love taking them out and admiring them every Christmas!
