Favorite sounds at DL

Ok, this may seem like a weird topic. But, what is your favorite sound at Disneyland?

Mine is the clackety-clack sound on Splash Mountain as the log boat makes its last climb up before plunging down the flume.

I don't think this is as weird a topic as you might expect, and I bet you will get a bunch of replies....because once you start thinking about it, there are all kinds of sounds that jump to mind. Disneyland, I have always said, stimulates all our senses in a pleasing way, so that is why we will be able to answer this fairly easily. And I am sure after I give one answer and post it, I will think of 20 more in the next few days.

So I will start with this one.....when riding on POTC, and I know that first drop is coming, but it's not our turn to go yet....I love the sound of the water as it begins to more urgently rush towards the dip as we approach it, and when we hear the boat in front of us go down first, the sounds of the screams and cheers fading into the dark, echo-y mist are great. Because we know we are NEXT!

The sound that Casey Jr makes when he's trying to go up the hill, "I think I can, I think I can" which sounds like the engine chugging along.

Still thinking....I have to say I like the ambient sounds in line for and on the Jungle Cruise, to help set the adventure mood.

And I love the auditory assault in Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters and Toy Story Mania. It's so loud in both rides, but it revs you up and gets you going to start blasting at targets.

I love the loud vroom vroom of the Autopia cars.

Indiana Jones music, Back ground Music on Main street, train pulling out of or into station, the noise that happens before they make an announcement on star tours, and the guys voice that tells you when things start for parades and fireworks! Also if your interested on Disneyland.com the official podcast just did a whole show on the sounds of Disneyland!

I love the music you hear when you're walking from the crosswalk to the front gates.

The sounds of the crickets at the beginning of pirates

The music by BTMRR.

The laughter of kids

The sounds by the dentist office on mainstreet.

The music heard just after passing under the train tunnel and entering Main Street.

The sound of the wind in the Matterhorn and the roar of the yeti.

The sound of popcorn being poured into the popper by a CM.....

I had to add one....the music leading into the fireworks....the welcome from Julie Andrews....that part just makes me tear up

Not exactly sounds, but two that come to mind for me are:

1) the music on POTC right after the 1st waterfall drop
2) and of course "Remain seated please; Permanecer sentados por favor"

I like listening to the party lines, and on MS if you go back by the lockers and sit by the ice cream stop there, they've got audio coming out of the windows. I love listening to that!

Listening to kids having fun, cheers on fun rides, parade music, fireworks music.....so many sounds are great.

But, I think my 100% faves are the ones DM posted...I need to get those on my phonezoo acct so I can use them as message alerts.

Great question! But there are so many! First one that comes to mind is "Come on everybody, here we GOOOO!!!!" Next would be the music from the Merry-Go-Round, I just love that. And the clackety-clack of Big Thunder Mountain. Oh and Jiminy Cricket singing "When You Wish Upon A Star." I could go on and on! It's making me smile even now just thinking about them all!

I've been trying to think of what my absolute favorite sound would be and I'm not sure but a couple of sounds that I like are:

"Hang onto your hats and glasses 'cause this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!"

And the announcements on the tram ride from the parking structure. Not that I love the announcements themselves but I hear that familiar voice and then I feel like I'm really there and about to enter DL!

1. The birds chirping in Adventureland

2. Again another bird... The parrot as you enter the pirate ride

3. The soft music playing as you walk under the bridge to go into Disneyland
