Favorite sounds at DL

Ooooh! Molly just reminded me of more sounds that I love with her post. I used to love the old sound of a bear snoring that wafted around in Bear Country/Critter Country. Again, it was an ambient noise sort of thing that you could miss if you weren't paying attention or in the right spot, but it was cool.

So along those same lines, A Bug's Land has a similar thing with various 'bug sounds' coming from behind random bushes or plants. We caught one of these sounds by accident, standing outside of the restrooms by the foliage (it startled my friend!), but we came across another bush somewhere in ABL with a noise coming from it too. It is a nice little touch - one of those great details that Disney puts so much thought into - to create a theme and make it seem like Heimlich or whomever is hiding in the foliage around A Bug's Land. So be prepared to be a little bit surprised if you happen to be standing beside any sort of inconspicuous-looking greenery in A Bug's Land, because you may hear a sudden rustling or chomping or whatever!

Sounds: It would be a tossup between the Disneyland Railroad whistle and the Monorail foghorn. Love both of those!

Music, Area or Queue: Peter Pan's Flight, hands down, no question

Soundtrack to Ride or Attraction: Space Mountain!

2) and of course "Remain seated please; Permanecer sentados por favor"

I love that one as well. But we always say it as "Cinnamon toast and tacos, por favor.

I love being by the wishing well and heaing "I'm wishing.....I'm wishing"

The music you hear when you walk through the entrance of the Castle.

That is my favorite. It is Jiminy Cricket singing " When you wish upon a star". I always feel like a princess walking hand in hand with Kyle my Dfi and we hear that music. He usually grabs me and we start dancing cheek to cheek right there in that little alcove.
It is so romantic.
:wizard:
It is just a few feet from where Kyle proposed to me too.

How sweet.

Wow, what sound DON'T I love at DL? That would be an easier question to answer.

I love all of them mentioned here, but just to add a few:

-the honk of the fire vehicle's horn on Main St.

-the water falling and frogs croaking at Snow White's Grotto.

-the sound of the water jets squirting out on Thunder Mountain by the dinosaur bones.

-Thunder Mt., coyote howl and goat 'baaaa'. :)

-Mark Twain whistle

-generator hum in the Indy queue.

-the sound of the Tom Sawyer Island rafts driving across the river.

-all the silly sounds in Toontown you hear by pulling doorknobs and pushing buttons. :)

Speaking of Toontown sounds, I'm reminded of a time where I was just hanging out there by myself one evening. Some punky little jerk decided to lay on the horn on Donald's Boat. I couldn't see very well over there because it was dark, but OMG this person held onto the string and wouldn't let go, resulting in a solid, continuous boat horn wailing for at least 15-20 minutes straight!! :scared1: (don't know why I actually STAYED in TT this long to endure it, but I'm weird!) Eventually a voice came on the loudspeaker broadcasting throughout Toontown to tell the person to STOP! Interestingly enough, the next time I went to DL I noticed that the Donald's Boat horn seems to have a limit on it so it can no longer blare continuously. :scratchin

2) and of course "Remain seated please; Permanecer sentados por favor"

Classic! But unfortunately, the line has been tweaked a little in the past few years in the name of safety. The Spanish is the same, but the English now says, "Please remain seated with your seatbelt fastened." I wonder if/when they introduce new bobsleds with safer computerized restraint mechanisms if they'll restore the spiel to the original.

Good topic!

For me it's the entry sounds from the turnstiles. I have the reentry whistle as my ringtone for text messages on my phone. :)

The click click of the log on Splash as it's going up the hill.

"Alllll Aboardd!!" From the Disneyland RR.

The clicking noise the birds and flowers AAs make in the Tiki Room. I can't really explain it. But you can hear it when they move. I guess you're really not supposed to hear, but I like it. :)

The voice of the announcer on the Mark Twain.

The wind noises from the Matterhorn.

The whole music that's played from the Mad Tea Party.

The wind noises in the tunnel on GRR.

oOOH yeah someone else just mentioned it and I had to reply... DEFINITELY The bugs from the Bugs 3D show where in the queue you hear them buzzing around the room

DW likes the sound the tickets make when you go through the turnstiles.

DD likes the sound of screaming riders.

DD's friend likes the Tinkerbell sound on Soarin'.

I like the sound of Big Thunder Mountain chugga-chugga.

what a great topic!

my favorite sounds at DLR are:

1) the music while inside the Peter Pan ride (it's my ringtone).

2) the music as you walk through adventureland, right in that area between the Indy store and the Jungle Cruise entrance, especially at night!

3)the queue music at Soarin'.

4) the POTC song...as soon as i hear that, i KNOW i'm at disneyland! pirate:

5) the sound of people screaming as they go down that last drop of Splash Mountain, and the sound of splashing water that follows.

:)

Definitely the Turnstile sound after coming in the first time... That magic chime makes me wanna run around the front of the park saying "OH MY GOO I'M HERE! I'M HERE!", which I follow up with a funky lil jig.

I looove the wind sound in Peter Pan's flight, when you take that little "swoop" over London.

The few seconds of that suspensful tone right after the countdown ends and right before the drop and the music begins on Space Mountain.

And one more...
"Launch in FIVE, FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE!..."

I have to also add the happy Ragtime music played on Main Street. I'm listening to a Main Street loop right now as I type. ;)

The wind noises in the tunnel on GRR.

Ooh yes.

And one more...
"Launch in FIVE, FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE!..."

Ooh yes.

So I forgot to mention, but the whistle of the turnstiles is how I whistle for my son when he's roaming a bit too far. My mom used to whistle for us, but the particular whistle she used seemed a bit harsh and didn't catch his attention. So I use the up-down whistle of the turnstile, and it always catches DS's attention. :)
