Favorite or Best Airline In Your Opinion

First time flying as a family...who do you like?

I luv Southwest... flights never change, super friendly customer service, and quite frankly, I prefer the boarding process.

I voted for Delta since that includes Song. I love Song, but wish they could have firm flight plans further out. I liked flying SW but hate not being able to get a decent fare unless I'm sitting on top of the computer. And I'm one of those obsessive planners that likes to have her flights all done asap. Of course, I get my flights all set asap, and then Song goes and changes them just before I leave. I guess that's a huge contradiction isn't it??!!

I'm also a big fan of Song, even with the flight changes. I love being able to book my seat in advance to be sure of getting the leg room that I want. I also think that the flight staff is friendly and helpful. The TV's in the seat backs is also a great distraction during the flight. I've found Song to be as cheap or cheaper than SWA. My second favorite is JetBlue which was not listed. JetBlue is almost as good as Song and I would fly them if they were cheaper. Song has better terminal access than JetBlue however and seems a little more comfortable.

TMA (before bankrupcy) was our favorite for ontime flights, direct routes using smaller regional airports, and customer service/cleanliness. I used United exclusively as a domestic business traveller and their ontime record and customer service sucked.

Have always had good service with Delta, but they were one of the last to get on board with kids flying in FAA approved seats, so don't usually think of them first.

After watching the rude managers at our airport from Southwest on Airline, we wont fly with them.

Had a crummy time with United, once, flying Easter Sunday, but they we so busy I can't really count them out.

Of your choices I'd go with Delta or United, whichever goves you the better deal or schedule.

My theory is that all of them have good days and bad days.

Living in Atlanta, I am pretty much stuck with DL.

(Also, remember AIRLINE is a TV show... having flown SW hundreds of times when I lived in Nashville, the employees are overall MUCH nicer then AA, DL, USAir, United etc....)

Your choice might be better made on who offers the best filght times and prices. Depending on where you are flying from, one of these might offer non-stop flights while otheres offer only direct or connecting flights. Note that there is a difference between non-stop and "direct" (a term that is often mis-used). A non-stop means you get on in your originating city and off in the destination city. But a "direct" flight means you get on in your originating city, stop at an intermediate city to take on more passengers, and then continue to the destination city - all without having to change planes.

Agreed. Every airline has good and bad days, and even good and bad years. For example NW used to have pitiful system-wide on-time performance, but it's gotten much better in the last few years. Unless you travel regularly, and expect to reach status on one or more airlines---and that usually means 25K air miles in a calendar year---just pick whichever one offers you the best combination of price/convenience.

I log about 40-60K airmiles with NW every year, and so they are my favorite airline, because they put me in first class and give me free drinks. But, as they say, your mileage may vary.

I waffle between SWA and NWA.

I like SWA because once their schedule is posted, they fly it unless there is a mechanical or weather issue. I like their friendly service, great Rapid Rewards system and quick turnarounds.

I like NWA because I'd rather fly out of the new McNamara terminal in DTW. I have more non-stop choices on NWA.

I'm assuming that you mean US Airways. I had a freakishly good experience on Friday with them (I am a loyal United flyer).

Safetymom, I discovered why you like flying them. Everyone at CLT including the Starbucks staff, gift shop staff, TSA, etc were soooooo nice at 530am.

A TSA agent actually hugged me.....

My vote still goes with United. But keep in mind that if you have status, it's a different experience than for the casual flier (upgrades, priority check in, etc).

I voted for Delta, although I am a big Southwest fan. I have only had one horrible expericence and that was with United. So I am pretty much game to trying whomever as long as I don't get a vibe about bad service.

My choice was also not offered - I love Frontier. I used to be a loyal United flyer but due to numerous problems with their customer service and flight delays that I experienced I gave Frontier a chance about 1.5 years ago and now fly them almost exclusively.

One of the best things about moving from Metro Detroit to Phoenix was leaving behind Northworst and now flying Southbest! Yes, the new McNamara terminal at DTW is nice, but I found that - perhaps due to the monopoly NWA has in Detroit - the gate agents and flight attendents were too often surly. Southwest folks almost always have a smile and a kind word. And I prefer the 'cattle call' seating - yes, I can see the seat I reserve at nwa.com, but I can't see the small screaming child or large sweaty man seated next to me like I can on SWA!

I really like Jetblue, but Southwest has been getting most of my business as of late. I like Song too, but don't like the long walk in the new Delta terminal at Logan. I'm not crazy about cattle call seating, but usually get an A BP and I'm OK with that. SW fares have been just great - 40-80 each way and DING rocks. I also love their change policy, No change fee! Rapid Rewards is good too, but I'm not happy with the new seat restrictions for RR trips

each time i have used them they were always on time. crew and customer service were always helpful and friendly. will continue to use them
