Favorite Moment Ever at Disney World?

I remember the first time I walked into the MK and just took it all in, especially when I saw Cinderella's castle (when DH and I got married our wedding invitations had Cinderella's castle on them). I felt like a little kid, and I was definitely not a little kid any more. I love looking at pictures and remembering this. My moments as a 27 year old little kid.

One more...the following year we went back (okay our main reason was to see the Detroit Tigers at Spring Training) with my parents and little sis. She was 9 at the time and was the perfect age, old enough to do everything but young enough to still be a kid at DW. Well, we were walking back to the bus and I looked at the smile of pure enjoyment on sister's face and turned to my mom and asked "Can she stay like this forever?" My mom said "Wouldn't that be nice?" I know it may sound silly, but I will never forget that moment (especially since my sister is now 17 and so much a teenager). I only hope when we go back in Feb. 08, I get to see that smile on her face again. And even more so on my DS face who will be 4.

Sorry so long, but thanks for letting me share.

The memories that we will always have as a family:

I have been to Disney 80+ times, and I have NEVER had a bad trip. This includes the time I was taken to Celebration hospital in an ambulance; a bad day at Disney is better than any good day in the real world!!!

That being said, I CAN"T PICK A FAVORITE MOMENT!!!! So, I gathered favorite moments from a few family members. Here they are (all of these are from my POV):

MOM-- When I was 3, we went down to Disney and all I wanted to do was see Cinderella. We were the first in line, and when Cinderella came out, she sat on her throne and opened her arms really wide. I ran into them, and she hugged me like she'd been waiting to see me all day.

AUNT--- Cinderella signing my cast when I broke my leg.

DAD-- Talking to Crush at Turtle Talk.

Hey, guess what? These are some of my favorite moments, too!

I think the idea here is that your favorite moments are the favorite moments of those close to you.... a sentiment I can relate to!

My favorite Disney moment was on my honeymoon. Our first night there, we were standing in the roped-off section for Wishes, the greatest view ever, and the music started and the show began and I just started bawling! I was so perfectly happy at that moment, I never wanted it to end!

Even though I have lots of wonderful memories in WDW with my kids...the one that will always stand out the most in my mind was actually with my neice.

My DSis and I brought our 4 yr old neice with us last year for her very first time. As we were waiting in Frontierland for Spectomagic...and the lights on the castle were changing...and you could just start to see the lights of the parade getting closer... She said (in the sweetest voice ever) "Ooohh...Disney world really IS magical!". None of us will ever forget it. :)

My absolute favorite was the first year my daughters went and my oldest who was 3 at the time, had on her new Belle dress. My husband wanted a picture of her in front of the castle so while we were waiting for the parade to start, he brought her to the middle of Main St which was empty where she started twirling in her princess dress!!princess: Everyone started clapping for her and my DH got some FANTASTIC pics. It brought tears to my eyes....Here were my babies in the place I've loved for all times:wizard: It was like passing on a treasure:goodvibes I'll never forget that as long as I live!!

See those are pictures to post on the amazed faces thread, I'm sure they're pretty great!

When we were in Disneyworld in Jan and my Grandmother went with us for the first time! When we went to the Magic Kingdom and she saw main street for the first time her knees buckled and she started to cry! it was soo magical that we could make that dream come true for her!

2006 vacation had to be the PSB dinner at Akershus. DD5 (at the time) had worn her Jasmine costume and when Princess Jasmine had gotten close to our table, she skipped the ones in front of us and came to our table instead. Jasmine spent quite a while with DD and gave her a big kiss which DD proudly displayed to everyone for the rest of the night.

This past vacation in 2007, it had to when DD4 got to meet Captain Jack at the P&PP. It was our whole point of going to the party and he definately made it worth it. He took her by the hand and talked her like she was the most important thing in the world.

My best moment happened on our honeymoon 5 years ago. It was our first trip to WDW, and we discovered that there was a restaurant in the castle (shocking!), and asked about getting a table for dinner. There was a long waiting list, but we decided to stick it out. It was our last day in the parks before going on a Disney cruise, and we needed to pick up some of those crystal picture block things we had made. So my husband ran over to tomorrowland to pick them up while I continued to wait for our table. The hostess at the desk outside told me that I could wait inside if I wanted. I told her that I'd just stay outside so my husband could find me since I didn't want him thinking I'd abandoned him after only 4 days of marriage. She asked if it was our honeymoon. When I said yes she smiled, then started talking in her earpiece/walkie talkie thing. Next thing I know my husband is back and we're being escorted to a table right by the windows that has been covered with confetti and balloons, and has a great view out the windows. We watched the fireworks over dinner, enjoyed a complimentary dessert, and at the end of the night were given 2 champagne glasses as souveniers. How's that for Disney magic? We've been back every year since!

I have two actually, I can't pick one over the other so I'll share both.

-In 2004, we stayed at POFQ (which has since become our favorite resort). At about 7:10am, DH wakes me up and asks if we had any Tylenol or anything since he woke up with a massive headache. I had forgotten them at home so I called to see what time the gift shop opened, and they had just opened at 7am. So I got dressed and took a stroll to the gift shop. That stroll was one of my favorite moments. I didn't see anyone else on my way to the gift shop, so I got to enjoy a cool morning with beautiful & lush landscaping...just enjoying such a peaceful and calm and gorgeous moment to myself. I loved those few moments!!! I felt bad that DH was in so much pain...but if I had remembered to bring the Tylenol rather than to have to go buy it, I would have missed out on such a beautiful moment.

-In 2005 we were waiting to see Lights Motors Action at MGM when this downpour came and they canceled the show. Everyone dashed for cover, but it had rained so hard so quickly that we were soaked before getting to cover. So we shrugged our shoulders and started heading out of the park. We walked down the middle of Hollywood Blvd...no one in front of us or behind us because they were all hiding from the rain. It felt like we had the park to ourselves and we had a blast just walking and laughing and splashing the puddles. Ok, the fun ended once we got on the freezing cold bus in our soaking wet clothes.... :rotfl2: But we really just lived in the moment and didn't have a care in the world.

I'll make mine short and sweet....

It was the day I walk through the gates of the Magic Kingdom for the first time after becoming a Cast Member, the CM who took my ticket and must have noticed my start date said "it's ok to smile, it's real". I got teary eyed. I was now part of the Magic!

We have gone 2 years in a row (and the only 2 times I have been there) and both times it was the same moment. My son (who was 3 and 4 when we went) came up to me toward the end of the day and gave my leg the biggest, tightest hug he could muster, and said "Thank you daddy, I love Disney World". That was worth the price of admission right there.

Our best time ever was last year. We were dining at Liberty Tree Tavern and our table was right at the entrance to two dining areas. The characters kept stopping over and over again to say hi. Chip and Dale took a liking to our DIS friend and kept chirping at her and giving her kisses. Dale or Chip, I kinda got them going because I confused them, kept taking my food and pulling my chair out. Then to our surprise all the characters and staff showed up with a cake. We thought our DIS friend was about to be surprised with an engagement from her now husband (he does not go with us, not as big a fan of the disney), but it was a birthday cake. We were all confused. We were asked, "Is it your b-day", by our server (who by the way was fantastic!!! and trying out to be Ariel - Hope we see her again). We were all stunned, had no idea what to say, was this cake meant for someone else, were they confused. Then we said no, and they said, "good, it is your unbirthday, and they gave us the cake a certificate and explained the MK was celerating unbirthday's. It was great, and the cake was yum, yummy. best character dining experience ever!!! :dance3:

Sitting right behind my DS -4 and DD-2 as they watched their first parade at MK. Both had on their mouse ears and Mickey pointed right at them and said something like, "Hmmm, I've seen those mouse ears before." They were estatic and I cried through the rest of the parade. (Heck, I'm crying now and I can't find the right keys on the keyboard.) They still talk about it and they are now 8 and 6. :goodvibes

Looks like recent posters are soon headed to Disney World. Have fun, I hope you come back with some more favorite moments!

Here's one to really consider carefully! What is your favorite moment ever at Disney World? I know it must be tough to decide among tons of great times, but what was that one truly special moment that tops the list?
:donald:

My favorite moment in Disney World was as an 11 year old with my Mom and Dad and two younger brothers on a warm summer evening in June 1979, when after a long, fun filled day at the Magic Kingdom during my first ever visit, I watched the Main Street Electrical Parade pass by me on Main Street as it lit up the night, and my heart. From that moment on, though I would not make it back for another 12 years, I was in love with Walt Disney World.

There are many other favorite moments as well, like when my wife said "I do" as we were married on the terrace at Wilderness Lodge in 2000, or with my wife and kids watching the stars above the campfire at Fort Wilderness in January 2006, but it's hard to beat that night in the Magic Kingdom as a young boy in 1979.
