Favorite Moment Ever at Disney World?

It was during our most recent trip last month!

My youngest daughter was chosen to be in the Royal Procession with Anna & Elsa!

It was a truly magical moment!!

My daughter has autism and her language skills are very limited, but she knows all of the Frozen songs and she practically floated down the street when she walked in the welcome parade with her sister!

I'll never forget that day! :cloud9:

Most fun: on my first trip, on our first MK day, my Sister and I rode Buzz Lightyear for the first time. As soon as we stepped off the ride, with big smiles on our faces, we took one look at each other and both said, "Let's go again!" You know those WDW ads where you see the adults reflected in glass/mirrors as kids? That was totally us, two kids with a friendly sibling rivalry bent on out-zapping each other.

Sooo many came to mind as I read through this thread but I have one for each member of my family:

DH - Before we were married I could convince him to go to Disney if we tacked it on to football bowl games in FL (not as big of a Disney fan as I am). One year we were there for a E-ticket night and it was sooo cold. We were from Chicago so we had hats and scarves and just bundled up and powered through. By about 9:00 - MK was empty and we ran around the park like crazy kids riding rides over and over again (Buzz Lightyear was brand new and our favorite!) Tigger and Pooh were standing in the exit line (trying to kep warm probably) and kept high fiving us as we ran through again. It was such a fun night and I really remember him having fun.

DD - It was about 9:00 at night at MK and my Sis (who hates roller coasters) offered to take my DS (then 3) to the playground while DN (10) and DD (6) rode Barnstormer 1 time before we left for the night. As the girls and I came off the ride, we could see Sis and DS at the playground and I looked at them and said "They aren't looking, should we go again?". The three of us ran back to the entrance two more times like we were so sneaky. My sis informed us that she saw us doing it when we met up again and we all just cracked up!

DS - Same trip as above, my DS did not want to see princesses (too cool I guess) but my DD and DN did. I convinced him to come with us and to kiss the princesses hands since they are royalty. He came out of the princess tent with three lipstick marks on his cheeks from each princess kissing him and it was the cutest thing I have ever seen!

Here's one to really consider carefully! What is your favorite moment ever at Disney World? I know it must be tough to decide among tons of great times, but what was that one truly special moment that tops the list?
:donald:

When we were dining in King Stephan's Banquet Hall (CRT now) with our then 4 year old son, and Cinderella kissing him on the cheek - thought he would pass out he was so excited! He 'loved' 'Cinderellie'!!

2002, our third family trip. Our boys were 10 and 5. We had stayed previously in the All Star resorts and splurged on Animal Kingdom Lodge that year. After 16 hours of driving we pulled into the resort just after dusk and all lit up. When the beautiful wooden doors opened and we saw the lobby, it was amazing to see two impatient little boys speechless with wide eyed wonder,

DD meeting the characters at the Character Spot in Epcot. She just LOVED it! In fact, she screamed when it was time to leave. Needless to say, the rest of the trip was focused on characters more than rides. :) I'm a happy mama.

It's funny to see this thread that started before my younger DD turned 1... and she turned 8 today.

Anyway, one for each daughter.

We went on our first family trip in 2006 when my wife was 5 months pregnant. My then DD4 was HUGELY into princesses at that point, and we wanted to do something special with the her before the baby came. Anyway, we went to Akershus for breakfast, and she had her Sleeping Beauty dress on. When Sleeping Beauty came around, my DD was enthralled, and received a kiss on the cheek, which she very proudly wore until she sweated it off (hey, it was June!). Even now, 8+ years later, I've rarely seen her THAT happy.

Our trip in 2009 was the first with the younger DD, who was a month shy of 3. My brother had taken my niece before we went, and she'd been *terrified* of the non-face characters (we saw this in action when we all went in 2010). We didn't know what to expect out of our little one. We decided to break her in with Mickey and went to the Judge's Tent. We got into the room, and while the older DD went right to Minnie, younger DD held back. Mickey went down on one knee and opened his arms... and she ran right into them.

Probably my most memorable moment didn't even happen to me. It happened to a special needs child.

This was about 20 years ago, my first visit to DW, and we were in front of the American Adventure when Mickey Mouse walked up. As we waited our turn to get a pic with Mickey, a woman approached with a little girl in a wheelchair, probably 8 or 9, and it was obvious she was physically and mentally challenged.

The little girl was looking up at Mickey in awe and he went over to her and signed "I love you". The mommy told the little girl what Mickey had said and you have never seen a child's face light up like that little girl's did.

It brought tears to my eyes. Still does just thinking about it. That was Disney magic is action.

I'm wondering if this was DD and myself. DD has Down's Syndrome and loves WDW. She is older that the girl you described, but even now, she still looks like a teenager. It would be so cool if this was us. DD has basic signing skills.

My favourite memory of WDW:

We went to see the Beauty and the Beast show, and had excellent seats in the front row. DD was right in the moment. She laughed, she cried, she tried to sing a long. She thoroughly enjoyed the show. When it was over we got up to leave but the CM asked us if we could wait a few minutes. After several minutes, we were ushered in behind, and to my surprise the cast was positioned to meet us for pictures. There was Belle, her prince, Gaston, and the ladies in their pink ball gowns, and the gentlemen in their blue suits. I was overwhelmed, because I realized what a treat this was. DD took it in stride.

After the meeting was over, I rushed to a pay phone to share this moment with my husband. Some CMs were using their entrance/exit doorway, and I shared my enthusiasm with them. They were excited for us, but I have a sneaking suspicion they already knew. Finally, I got through to DH and described how we had met the cast from Beauty and the Beast. His excited comment was "You mean to say you met the teapot?!" :lmao:
