Favorite Moment Ever at Disney World?

My favorite Memory is when df proposed to me last yr at cinderella's royal table and in the process made the lady behind us cry. I have never been so suprised in my life.

I got engaged the same day as you did 3 years earlier!!!! :cloud9: Congrats!

It would have to be the first time that my family visited WDW in 1992 I think. We flew in at night and we picked up our car and went for a quick ride around WDW. It was so magical to see the parks and hotels all lit up for the night and it raised our anticipation of our visit to the parks. I could really feel the Disney magic in the air. :tinker:

Of course, I think that I'll have the most magical moments this trip when I take my little boys on their first trip to WDW!

This past May, watching my DGD(2) experience WDW for the first time........she was sooooooo excited, she was shaking!!!!!!!!!!! I'll never forget it!!! :cutie: :yay:

My daughter's first trip to the world was when she was two months shy of 3 years old. She loved all things Disney (and still does). We has just passed through the turnstyles when she spotted Mickey out front signing autographs. All of a sudden she took off running and yelling, MIIIIICCCKKKEEEYYYYY!!!!! She was so excited to see him! Luckily we stopped her before she interfered with someone else's interaction with him (although I wished she was able to do what she wanted and just run up and hug him). We managed to convince her that she would see him again later and she could hug him then. Anytime I think of her little voice screaming for Mickey I just smile. :goodvibes Then as soon as we got inside onto Main Street we found Snow White, who was her favorite princess at the time. She met Snow White and Snow White kissed her cheek. My daughter proudly displayed a red kiss on her cheek all day. :cloud9: What a great trip that was!

Out of the many......

When my DS, 10 at the time, was taking pictures in the Princess tent. DS was too cool to take pics with the princesses unless my DH was standing with him. He didn't want to loose his "street cred" by hanging with Princesses!!
When we finished up and were starting to leave, Cinderella caught my sons eye and waved and said "Bye handsome." I have never ever seen my son blush so brightly and smile so big at the same time!! It was wonderful to see him back as the child he should be, not one trying to grow up to fast!

So many to choose from. I think the best was on our trip in 2002, DBF (now DH) and I were listening to the Music after Wishes and relaxing while the park cleared out. He then asked me to dance to "A Dream is a Wish." We danced in front of the castle, and honestly felt like the only two people in the world.

I'm not even sure how to describe it...... it had been years since I had been to disney...and went with my husband who had never been and our little son..... I just totally loved seeing the excitement and sheer childhood joy in my husband, it was priceless.

Then it happened again the next time we went - except with me....feeling the joy of the "magic".... undescribeable!

Ok, I seriously have tears in my eyes reading some of these.

Mine is easy. I planned a trip for my boyfriend and I in 2005. He'd never been at that point and I was a little worried about how he was going to like it (my ex hated Disney). I knew he was enjoying himself but about half way thru the trip he turned to me and said "thank you for planning the best vacation of my life" and talked about "when"we come back etc.

I swear I lost it right in the middle of the park. I couldn't control myself.

giggle, that was definetly a clue to dump the guy!! Glad you found someone to share the magic with!

My favorite memory is from a trip with my mom and dad as a small child (pre-brother and pre-divorce, so I was probably 4 or 5). I absolutely loved Snow White and wanted desperately to meet her. We found her on the side walkway/bridge that leads up to the castle. She held my hand and we walked a little and talked. I can still feel at 32 years old the bliss of that moment.

I am sure my favorite memory will change once I take my kids to WDW next year. I am looking forward to seeing the look on their faces when they see the castle for the first time.

During our 1st trip in 2001, DH and I were at Blizzard Beach. We were floating along cross country creek, when all of a sudden it started to rain. Then it started to pour! It was really neat because it was hot out, and we were already in the water...so we all just kept floating in the downpour. Everyone was cracking up. It was a fun and memorable moment.

I must say that most of my character interactions are up there....

But my fave so far is the one in my avatar....

Goofy flirted with me and asked me to kiss him.... ;)

The first time we took Carl to WDW was for his 7th birthday. For weeks before the trip "Mickey" had been sending him mail. About a week before the trip "Mickey" sent Carl an invitation to join him at his restaurant (Chef Mickey's of course) to celebrate their birthdays (Mickey's is November 18th or so and Carl's is November 14th). Oh my word, wasn't Carl excited about that. Well, there we were at dinner and they had already done the Birthday, napkin twirling song when Mickey made his way to our table. Carl got up and went right up to him saying "HI Mickey! Its me, Carl!" Mickey nodded and waved to Carl like he remembered him (whew for me). To me he said "That party was for me wasn't it? Because Mickey invited me." The only right answer from me was "Of course it was hun". That night, after he fell asleep we decorated the room for his birthday, including presents from Mickey. When Carl got up the next morning he looked around and said "Tia! Look what Mickey left while we were sleeping!".

Ah, the magic days of believing. :cloud9:

As a follow up, 2 years later we went back to Chef Mickey's for DSO's 30th bday. Carl "knew" the truth about the characters, but he still believed that the Birthday party was set up just for Darla.

I made it on the hot seat on who wants to be a millionaire.... it was easily my favorite moment in disney world. it was such a blast and everyone made such a big deal about it later in the day as i walked around with my millionaire shirt on. i only wish that they would have given me a picture of some sort. i was really sad they closed it. everyone should be given a chance to experience that magic!! :wizard:

Seeing DW's reaction on first seeing the lobby at the Wilderness Lodge.

I'd been so worried that she wouldn't be happy at WDW, but as soon as I saw the tears of happiness in her eyes when she first came inside the Wilderness Lodge, I knew it would be a magical vacation.

I was watching the Beauty and the Beast show at MGM. A gentleman was sitting next to me with his family on the other side. He was video taping the show. I looked over his shoulder and his little girl (about 3 or 4) had her head on her hands totally enraptured watching the show. I nudged the father and pointed to his little girl and he ever soooo slowly turned to capture the totally spellbound child. At the end of the show I told him to show that to her the night before her wedding when she grew up.

Awesome!

Good job! :thumbsup2

My husband and I struggled financially for years due to various reasons beyond our control, while members of our family did very well and took endless trips to WDW. I dreamed of taking our kids there...I entered every contest to win, etc, but no luck! Finally, in 2005, with our bad luck changed and some savings combined with a bonus at work, we were able to take our first trip! It coincided with my DS's 8th and my DD's 13th birthdays! Needless to say, when we hopped off the bus and walked up to the outside of MK, I lost it. I was sobbing uncontrollably, so much so that a castmember came up to me and asked me if I was ok. Mickey was actually outside of the park, in front of the train just past the turnstyles, and he gave me a big hug. I said, "You have no idea how long I waited for this...it is a dream come true!" and he made the kiss-kiss noise and gave me a bigger hug. Then, as we walked in and rounded the corner, we saw the castle! Oh my gosh! I lost it AGAIN!!! I said, "I am laughing, I'm crying, I am having a nervous breakdown!", which my husband captured on video and is now a classic in moment in our family's memory. That first trip was filled with so many magic moments...my son's birthday was awesome, he was picked to open MGM, we ate dinner in the castle for my daughter's birthday, and there was NOBODY in the parks, so we rode everything non-stop! I will never, ever forget for as long as I live the feeling I had when we arrived at MK and I knew my dream of taking my kids there had come true! I know people on these boards go a million times and maybe don't understand how out of reach WDW is for so many families, but we had to save and save and save for that trip (we actually were able to go back last October due to another bonus at work, but we can't afford another trip now for a long while)!!! I swear, if I win the lottery, I am going to set up a fund that gives WDW trips to families who cannot afford them. Every parent should be able to feel that magic!!!:hippie:

That's wonderful!
I love walking in WL and hearing those great western soundtracks playing.

I don't have to think twice about the answer to this one!!!!! It would be during our first trip as a family in Sept of 2003. DS was 5 and DD 3 and at the time undiagnosed autistic she would only saw 1 word at a time and was filled with anxiety. The first day we went to AK and when we turned the corner we say Pooh and his friends. We got in the short line to get hugs and autographs. Once it was our turn DD refused to get out of the stroller and pulled the seatbelt tighter around her little waist. Fast forward 2 hours we were sitting under the trees right outside of Lion King theater having a snack when DD finishes hers goes up to her dad and holds her arms up to be picked up. I am right next to him getting ready to clean off her mucky hands when she says "Wanna hug Pooh" My eyes bugged out of my head and so did DH's It was her first sentence!!!! :cheer2: On top of that she was actually telling us what she wanted instead of having a meltdown!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: I started running around shoving what we had taken out of the backpack and throwing trash away saying "Yes honey we will go find Pooh right away!!!" Just then Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto came around the corner and took there positions at Mickey's camp safari. We ran over and she got to meet them. Really didn't give hugs but you could tell she was so excited. Jumping up and down in front of them.

I have to say she is a different child when we are at the world and for that reason alone I am wanting to go back.
