Favorite Little Thing?

My son turned two on one of our cruises. The nursery staff made such a big deal out of it and when we got to our room there was a birthday present all wrapped and waiting for him. That was a December cruise and we didn't cruise again until May 17 months later and the nursery staff remembered him and asked about the present (which we could truthfully say he still played with). I was blown away that they remembered him. It was amazing.

not a dcl story but kinda related to above sweet story:

friends of ours traveled with another couple on brand x cruise lines. John, the male of the other couple, ate 3 entrees each night. He's kinda a big boy..know what i mean?
fast forward 3 years...three!
as the same 2 couples are boarding the same ship, they hear "JOHN! JOOOOHHHHNNNNNN!!!!"
they look around and, hanging over the rail of the ship, waaaay up high, waving frantically, is the same server they had 3 years ago.
I ask you...how much do you have to eat to be remembered by a server who serves thousands of people over a 3 year span......?!?!?!?!

On DCL:
Went on a family cruise one year with DD, DSiL, DGS (Teen), DW and me had Typhoon from Turkey as our server. 16 months later DW and I made a last minute reservation, went to PC for embarkation lunch, Typhoon saw us walking up to PC, and he came out of line from where the servers were escorting the cruisers to their tables. He served us lunch. We went to the table assignment change meeting, requested Typhoon as our server and it was granted. Typhoon had gone home twice and gotten married during those 16 months, yet he still recognized us.

Gosh, I can't just answer with one thing. I really like that there is water and fresh towels waiting for you when re boarding after a hot port day. And I also like being given a bottle of water after a long shore excursion.

I also like getting a lanyard when boarding.

Disney music in hallways

First night, kid at my table, his mom mentioned he liked peas, then every night we arrived a huge plate of peas awaited him. Magic touch

I love how accommodating the staff is for kids. I love the disboards meetups and FE gofts and looking at everyone's door decorations. I love that we all have disboards to share tips and info with and keep the magic going between vacations too!

The amazingly fast and friendly room service team at 4 in the morning when your child decides that it's time to wake up for the day.

I love the towel animals, the way cast members greet you by name and the door decorations. I am so glad I found DIS before my first Disney cruise or I might have felt a little left out on the whole magnet thing :-)

Our kids loved this. Our server on the Dream, Estawar, would make any design the girls asked for. Once he made Ariel and another time he did Stitch. It was great.

wow Very talented server!!! do you have pics of ariel and stitch???

I am an adult and I still asked for the ketchup mickey :) and yes I took a pic LOL

I enjoy seeing cast members from previous cruises and the fact they remember me.

I love the Disney Magic at every turn. My favorite? How they sat us with two other couples and we absolutely loved them! Our husbands have a rather unusual job, and two of them do it! We got along so well it truly enriched our trip. Hoping to sail again with them next year!

Thanks everyone for all of these - please keep them coming. They are helping me relive my cruise and making the wait for the next one a little more bearable.

This is a really little thing but I love that the Disney (cruise and theme parks) name tags tell where people are from. It's a conversation starter and makes you realize on the cruise how far flung the crew has gathered to make our time on board special.

I also love not having to plan anything while on board. I'm a teacher so that's pretty much all I do. I'm also the state president for a huge theatre organization and again, planning, that's my life. When we go to WDW, I plan the ADR and the Fast Passes. I love just showing up for the cruise, unpacking and letting us sail away. The 5 night DD was just heaven!!!
