Good morning. 51 now heading for 73. Definitely feels like Fall this morning. I saw the 2 boys next door out front with Mom having their first day of school pictures taken. I saw a school bus go by already. I'll be taking the highway to do errands instead of the back way. I'd end up having to stop too many times for busses.

I'm slowly losing patience with Summer. I haven't heard from her at all since last Thursday. She has until tomorrow to show up and pay me back or all you know what is going to let loose.

Have a good day everyone.

Missed every school bus, hit every green light, and there were no kids in the stores. Such a pleasure to shop like that. Stopped for an oil change and free car wash on the way home, and just finished putting everything away. It's so beautiful outside, I hope it lasts longer than a week.

Good morning. It is49 here now with temps heading to the low 70s. This weather is really nice. I went to Market Basket yesterday and it was a zoo! I pretty know that the Hannaford shoppers are now at Market Basket. And with the college kids going back to school they had a few less lines open. Thankfully next week with cutting back my hours I can get to the store earlier in the afternoon, around 12:45, when hopefully it won't be as busy. If I ever retire I will be one of those at the store around 8 am.

Have a great day.

Hug dear Snowysmom. Shopping early can definitely make for a much more pleasant experience! Plus, at open is when stores such as JC Penney at times give out coupons. I continue to be so thankful that you are able to ease into retirement in the best way for you :)

Dad doctor appointment prayers appreciated this morning. He sees one of his specialists.

I get to work with my dear friend and therapist today along with my other old regular therapist later in the morning. I will also be submitting my official written request to a case manager manager here that he advocate on my behalf for additional OT sessions. My insurance company is 100% on my side. I have been blessed to speak with 3 kind representatives from the company especially one named George. Update to God willing come.

My roommate most early mornings (she just did) for a moment loudly exclaimed something (I don't speak the language) in Korean. It can startle me if I am asleep for sure but it is expected. She is overall quiet and truly a lovely lady. Best roommate ever here. I know her pastor and other friend's are looking into options for her to move somewhere nicer. I am grateful for however long she is here. Peace of mind to have a much more stable roommate situation!

Thursday hugs to all :)

Good chilly morning. Went a little lower than @Snowysmom down to 46. I had to put a sweater on to go outside and feed the cats and birds. Miss Tiger spent the entire day and night on that chair, lol. On the arm of the chair until after supper, then she finally laid down on the seat and curled up. Cats are weird sometimes.

Today is the day Summer is supposed to come and pay me, I'm waiting to see if I hear from her on her own or if I have to say something. It's not the money anymore, it's the principle of giving me her word and going back on it.

Not sure what I want to get into today. Nothing outside needs to be done except water later on. No forecast for rain in the next 7 days at least. I got some beautiful mums at the store over the PA line. They are almost 18" across and I paid $35 for 5 of them. One is on the table on the front porch, 2 are at the top of the steps and 2 are on the back deck. They'll be the only flowers out there once the summer flowers die off. With it getting this chilly at night, I don't know how much longer they're going to last. My tomato's are still doing well, but my herbs are going to flower and will need to be cut soon.

Have a good day all

Lynn, I bet Summer doesn’t have the money to pay you back so she’s avoiding you. Not the mature way to handle it but she’s not known for making the best decisions all the time. Praying you can somehow salvage your relationship. 🙏 I have hope for you two. She’s probably fretting over it. (I would be!)

Snowysmom I’m familiar with all of those supermarkets, and Roche Bros, Stop n Shop, Star Market, etc. I don’t have a favorite for one stop shopping, they all have their pros and cons as far as I’m concerned. I also like Aldi and Walmart for some things, so I’m all over the place. I had to go into Whole Foods the other night and I got some really delicious turkey breast for sandwiches, all natural. I wish I could get it regularly but unfortunately it’s too pricey to shop there weekly. (Idk how people do it. 😳) I hope you like Shaw’s. This year I’ve received two really beautiful bouquets of flowers which lasted a long time and each came with a box of chocolates, such a nice touch. Beautifully packaged and delivered, too. And shocked to see they came from Shaw’s! So, good to know! The florist I used to use closed so I’ll be using Shaw’s from now on if I send flowers.

Mona, glad you are back on track and hope you can get what you think will help you get back to your baseline again so you can go home to be with your Dad! Hope he is doing ok after that bad experience the other day.

Hope everyone else is well.

We had a pipe burst in our yard yesterday coming from the street. What a headache! On the phone all day trying to get help for it. Was exhausted and not in a good place last night. Thankfully had it fixed this morning, we had a backhoe in the yard for several hours. Didn’t love the bill but what can you do.

Enjoy your Thursdays, everyone! 🐥

Lynn I hope you and Summer can work this out. I agree with Pea that Summer is probably avoiding you and anxious about the money that she may not have.

Bobbiwoz Hope you are feeling better and enjoying your trip.

Mona Glad you are settling things that work for you and can help get you a good recovery and back home sooner.

Pea-n-me Shaws does have a nice florist shop. Whole Foods is ridiculously expensive. Jeff goes there sometimes for particular items but not a weekly shopping trip. Sorry about the burst pipe. That is a hassle. Glad it is fixed now. Hopefully you a getting in some relaxation time and getting ready for your Disney trip.

Good morning. It is 57 now with temps heading to the low 70s. We are supposed to get some rain this afternoon. I have Kenny's kids for a sleepover tonight. I don't think I will be getting much sleep and I will have one ear and one eye open all night! The sleep sofa is in my office with my work laptop and I have to let them know they cannot touch my stuff. All the connections are there are good and I want to keep it that way. They are old enough to listen. We will make individual pizzas, I have some frozen treats, I got a couple of toys and books for them. They will have their laptops too. Tomorrow morning we will meet Kenny for breakfast at local place. Then tomorrow I will be off to Jeff's to see everyone. Hoping everyone has already traveled to where they need to be for the weekend so traffic will be good. It has been 3 weeks with only a videochat.

Have a nice day.

Wow so good to see you, Space Man! Missed you and prayers you and your family are well. Keep cool for sure!

Dear Lynn, I also agree with our fellow Quacker family members on Summer. I truly pray the two of you go forward closer and with a truly healthy relationship.

Dear Snowysmom, that sounds like a fun sleepover. You are such a loving and lovely grandma.

Good morning hug to all. Thank you all always for your prayers and support!

Good morning. Going to be cloudy and 74 today. We had some rain a little after midnight last night. Enough to water everything, but not enough to do much good. It was unexpected at any rate, so I'm grateful for what we did get.

I got tired of waiting for Summer to contact me so I called her just before dinnertime. She said she has the money, just hasn't had the time to get here to bring it. Not buying that excuse. She delivers for Walmart and has deliveries out this way almost every day. She is also in town for something every day. I'm only 2 miles past the city limits, so it's not like it's out of her way. I told her if she's not here tomorrow morning with it, to not ask me for help again. Someone else can help her. I'm being used, and that's not something I have ever put up with, and I'm not about to start now.

As to the comments about stores and shopping, we don't have a lot of choices here. We only have Walmart Supercenter, Martins (Giant), Aldi's and Save A Lot. I don't care for the Save a Lot at all, so I don't shop there. I favor Aldi's for produce and their unique items. I like Martins for some of their sales, and Walmart carries everything else that the other 2 don't carry.

I'm about to make a quick run to Martins right now for a couple of sale items. Then I'm in for the holiday weekend, working on vacation plans. I can't wait for the end of Sept.

Have a good day everyone

Good morning. It is cool again at 53 and temps heading to 72. Good night with the grandkids. They made and ate pizza, had desserts, we watched some Disney channel shows including part of Moana, then bed. They are up now on their laptops for a bit then off to breakfast. It went better than I was expecting. Today I head to Jeff's for the afternoon.

Have a good day.

Good morning. 50 now heading to 74.

Last night in my usually very quiet neighborhood was eventful.

1756557998402.png

Was watching tv, heard tires screeching down the road, then heard a loud crash, followed by another loud crash. I ran to the front door while calling 911. Another car was across the street. 3 kids, maybe late teens, early 20's, got out of that car, ran to the other one. The driver of the upside down one somehow managed to get out of his car and they all ran back across the street yelling 'we have to get out of here' and took off down the road. I managed to snap a quick picture of the car, enough to at least see the make and model and that it had MD plates on it, which helped the police. No one can figure out how that car was coming in one direction, skidded into the ditch, back out, then rolled the car, and ended up facing the opposite direction

Half of the neighborhood was out in the street to see what was going on. The little boys next door came running over to ask me if I was okay, they're so cute. I was fine, since I was in the house and not near the crash. There was one tire across the street, another one on this side, pieces of the car had flown up onto the neighbors lawn from the street, other pieces scattered all over the road. There was a pair of sneakers and a hat on my lawn. Our fire truck came and parked diagonally across the road, so it had traffic stopped going both ways until everything had been cleared away.

A lady from down the road said she had heard cars come flying up the road past her house racing each other and knew something bad was about to happen. Fire trucks, state police, an ambulance, and several other official vehicles were here for more than an hour. Then the tow truck got here and it took them half an hour to spin the car around, and then managed to flip it right side up and pull it up onto the flatbed. The firemen stayed and spread stuff on the road to soak up all the fluids that had spilled out, and someone picked up all the parts and swept the glass out of the street.

How that kid wasn't hurt badly or killed is beyond me. He had to have some injuries. They found his wallet and phone in the car, so I don't know how far he thinks he's going to get without them finding him. At the very least he will be charged with leaving the scene of the accident.

. Summer did call last night and said she would be over this morning with the money. Then she proceeds to tell me that Lily and her boyfriend, 3 of her friends, another couple with a baby and Summer are all leaving for OC on Monday. She's going to drive her truck with the couple and the baby and Lily is taking her new car with everyone else. So she couldn't keep her word to me for 2 weeks, but all of a sudden she has money to go to the beach for a few days? I give up.

Have a good day everyone.

All I can say is I want to go to OC also. Haven't been all this year. My trip will be a room on points or a free night certificate, at Holiday Inn on 17th, or Hyatt at 15th, or worst case the Hilton up by 32nd - no down in the zoo near the pier for me. A cooler with some food as it's hard to depend on the local places to serve low carb low sugar stuff that keeps me ticking. I'll check the menu at a few spots and either pick up or have it delivered if I decide on anything. Sometimes regular breakfast in the hotel or at Hyatt the free breakfast.

Plus I drive a hybrid so a tank of gas will take me there and back including a ride out to the National Seashore to watch the ponies and if it's not too windy walk along the water.

Depending on the day it will just be me or whoever wants to come. If just me, one room. If a group of family, a room for them and a room for me, although I will let 1 person have the other bed. I can't deal with a hotel room where I can't find the floor because of stuff dropped wherever. I wasn't always like that but I am now.

And it won't be until after the 15th because I have appointments.

I just take all the fun out of these trips if I have to share a room that sleeps 6 people which these hotels sleep.

I'll also be out on the Boardwalk before daybreak if it's not too windy to take those endless sunrise pictures.

Comment on the racing cars: It may be a felony in Maryland, and as of last year subject to fines and jail up to a year.

It's a problem in several areas such as Baltimore and route 210 Indian Head Hwy - three lanes each way, long stretches with no traffic signals and they used to plan drag races. People have died in these situations.

I hope they catch and charge all of them.
