I was talking about this w/ other DISers today, and I was curious where people hide their presents before Christmas. I hide all mine in the attic - my kids are too young to think about looking there.

I used to hide them in the basement, but the kids are too old not to investigate a stack of boxes. Now I hide them in the attic. It has pull down steps which they can't reach.

I have always stored stuff at my moms as well as wrapping over there too....but this year, since I am working...I may just keep the stuff at my office and wrap there too. My mom is going to be watching the kids over xmas break so it will be safer at my work I think

My closet. My kids are too small to start snooping, but when they do, probably the crawl space.

I hide them in the closet under the stairs all the way in the back. I know DD nor DS will look in there because that is where I keep the vacum, mop, laundry basket, etc . . .:p

In our locked cedar closet in the basement. It's off-limits to them all year round so, Christmas time isn't suspicious. ;)

I keep them in the warehouse at work. I pack them (wrapped) into big tall boxes that Hallmark ships roll wrap in. At some point I DO bring them home and I just tape them up really well and put them in the garage.

I love Christmas!!

I have 2 different places, I keep some in a big KitchenAid mixer box and I keep some in our big suitcases, they are never touched until we go on vacation. I also keep my jewelry in an old Tampax box - who'd ever look there?:p

This is a good question. I have no idea where to hide Christmas gifts anymore. I used to keep everything up in the attic, but they have smartened up to that. I wish I had a cellar. That's what I get for living below sea level. The trunk of my car used to be a good spot, but now I have a Jeep Cherokee. Can't hide anthing back there. I have to bring a blanket to cover up the Christmas gifts when I return from shopping. If I order something online, then I have it shipped to the office and keep it there until I wrap it. I have hid them in the back of my closet, but I have a feeling that when I'm at work, they might go snooping. If it's a bike, then I am lucky enough to have my MIL down the street to keep in her garage, or attic. That's probably where I'll hide the new bike. ::MinnieMo

In my closet, in my dresser, at my mom's house, in the trunk of the car and closer to Christmas the wrapped gifts go into the empty Christmas tree box in the garage.

I used to hide mine in the dirty clothes hamper.
The kids would never ever look in there.
Worked great.
Now I wrap them and put a blank tag on them and put them under the tree. I use different tag sheets with several different kinds of tags for each kid. On Christmas Eve, I put a sheet of "their" tags into their stocking and then they can figure out which packages are theirs on Christmas morning.

What an excellent idea Cruisin'Kroezes. I might have to remember that one when my kids start snooping.

My walk-in closet has a dead bolt on it since DD14 has always had the what's yours is mine mindset. DHs doesn't have a lock and other gifts go there as I start Christmas shopping in January.

We're having this dilemma this year too!

We have always stored the gifts in our shed but DH saw a rat ( ) in there last week! I guess I better not store the gifts there this year.

We have no basement, I drive a van, .....I'm kind of at a loss. The attic might be a good idea....but that means I'd need to make some room up there.....Oh well, It'll work out somehow!

We don't have kids but I hide DH's presents in my Cedar Chest and lock it. Only I have a key! :)

We also hide our children's gifts in our closet (behind all the clothes). Once DS8 starts snooping, I don't know where we'll put them!!
