Stop with the empathy.![]()
Those are both toward the top of my list. I said Wishes, but Osborne lights is like the Hollywood Studios Wishes. Just amazing. If you’ve never learned the full story behind it, you should look it up.Osborne Lights and The Great Movie Ride.![]()
Wish I had seen Tapestry of Dreams...

That is crazy. I do not remember that at all. They all moved over to open Indiana Jones after that. LolDoes anyone remember the Wild West show they use to do on the roof tops in Frontierland in the early 80’s? I vaguely remember seeing it once as a kid.

First visit this spring since 2012? Well let’s see some things have changed a little... haha. It’s been crazy. I know what you mean about the muppets. I make sure I hit it whenever I go because it just seems geographically to be in the way of Star Wars. My kids loved Honey I shrunk... To them they really felt they were shrunk down. The giant ant!Reading through the closed attractions list really pulls my heartstrings. I haven’t visited since 2012, and still trying to figure out which years my dad took us prior to that. My first visit was likely in 1994 or 1995. I remember the submarine at MK, but unsure if I actually went in it. Must have visited at least 5 times in the ‘90s-00s. Favorites included the backlot tour and Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. I remember the blue/green condiments at Cosmic Ray’s. Favorite treat was hunchback ice cream bar. Alien Encounter was terrifying but I enjoyed it so much I bought a pin—hopefully I still have it somewhere. Whenever they get rid of MuppetVision 3D I’ll be beside myself. Such great memories, and I’m prepared to be overwhelmed with emotion when I return this spring.
We once missed our plane because our DD had to ride TGMR one more time and it took forever. So sad to see the Great Movie ride go. My kids cried when they found out.
Ever since I experienced this I wondered how the Imagineers could think it was of their usual high standard. I wish they'd bring back the original, I'd love to smell those oranges groves again.Soarin' Over California at Epcot. The updated version just lacks the magic the old one had and the combination of the obvious CGI and the distortions from sitting anywhere other than dead center are so distracting and completely break the immersion of the ride for me.
Wow, this thread brings back so many memories. Many years ago (before fast passes) Adventureland had a scavenger hunt. If your team won, you would get a “front of the line pass” for the ride of your choice. DH & DS1 participated and won. They used the pass on Alien Encounter and wining that scavenger hunt is still a favorite Disney memory. Fast forward a few years, DS2, a special-needs person, loved to torture me by going on Stitch’s Great Escape. He always made sure I sat in a seat where Stitch would spit on me. RIP StitchWow. Poor Stitch. There were a couple people that have that on their list. The funny thing is that my kids were no more or less afraid of Stitch than the original.
There are always rumors that they will bring back the old one. I watched one of the imagineers episodes and the whole idea of using film in unique ways and expanding it to be immersive goes way back. It’s not in keeping with that to digitize and cg it.Ever since I experienced this I wondered how the Imagineers could think it was of their usual high standard. I wish they'd bring back the original, I'd love to smell those oranges groves again.
I have two of them: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
