The Running Thread - 2026

ATTQOTD:

We have the Springtime Surprise challenge and then the Broad Street 10-miler. I'm hoping for a PR for the Broad Street run but that is going to depend a lot on how the weather goes. The running has been great lately (knock on wood) and I just really hope it's not too hot next month.

My main goal this year is to hit 1,000 running miles and am a little off track so far. But I figure once Dopey training hits for real, the mileage will get there.

ATTQOTD: I have a half marathon in a little under 3 weeks that I'm attempting a PR at. I have not done formal training for it, but am coming off a mid-February marathon. My PR is over a decade old and was run at the same pace I just did my full marathon at. So I'm thinking I should be able to PR it fairly easily. Then SS weekend!

ATTQOTD: Since it looks like I am going to be taking a family vacation instead of running Covered Bridges 1/2 Marathon in June (happy wife/happy life), the only spring goal I have is to pace my son to a decent 10k in May for a POT to use for Wine and Dine 1/2.

I may look to see if I can find a nice local 10k or 1/2 that fits my schedule.

ATTQITD: Sort of a spring goal is to start increasing my running interval. Been doing a 2/1 and would like to get to 3/1. I am waiting till April to start moving the needle, as i wanted the knees to recover a bit from the shots. They don't feel worse, but they don't feel better yet.

Well, since 'someone' made me sign up for the Broad Street 10 mile, I may use that for a PR attempt.

There is the Springtime Surprise Challenge and I am beginning to realize that Disney races might not be where I can set PRs, which is fine, as I really enjoy the whole weekend and the races. 'Running' as opposed to 'racing' a race takes a lot of the pressure off and leads to more enjoyment of the experience.

Maybe the Dumb Dutchman HM in June, where I set my PR last year. I like this race as it's close to home, very flat, just over 100 runners, and I can decide the day of whether (weather) to do it.

ATTQOTD: Race plans are running my first non-Disney Half marathon in almost 3 years this April. Will also be running the Broad Street run this May. Mostly, just trying to get back into the habit of running and training this Spring.

ATTQOTD: My only goal is to remember how to swim, bike, and run when I get back from my dive travels in May. :rotfl:
Ooh! Where are you diving?
