Favorite "chill" spots

1. Aladdin's Oasis in Adventureland has been open. It's a nice quiet spot; most Guests don't know about it; and it has a restroom.

2. Golden Horseshoe is a nice spot with air conditioning. Laughing Stock is playing there this summer, but in between shows it's a nice spot to have a nice cool drink and cool off.

Our fav chill spots are:
~ the Tiki Room (with a Dole Whip float on a hot day=bliss!)
~ ride a full loop around the park on the train
~ down by the river by Hungry Bear
~ by the wishing well at the castle
~ the Mark Twain
~ we people watch on the benches near the Haunted Mansion, near the Matterhorn & at in the seating area just outside of Tomorrowland Terrace
....I'll add more if I think of any....

I also love Tom Sawyer Island for a place to let loose a bit. We also love Redwood Creek Challenge Trail for the same reason. Kids can just run and play, get some wiggles out.
I'm also a fan of just grabbing an ice cream, pretzel or Dole whip and just chilling on a patio or on a bench under a tree. Just sitting down for a few minutes can really help reenergize tired little ones!

PFF area. I never would've thought this would be a nice place to just chill for a bit, but last May I got extremely sick while we were in DL and ended up sitting there for about 3 hours. It was a table off to the side so not really in the thick of things, but a nice spot to chill and recharge and people watch.

I agree that the Animation building can't be beat, also head down to Ursula's grotto for some participative sing along action !

Main st Cinema is also a can't miss idea.

The new La Brea Bakery outdoor seating looks like it might be a very nice spot to eat and unwind too.

Somebody mentioned Big Thunder Ranch BBQ. Well just recently we discovered the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree right next door! We just kind of found it while waiting for our table to become available. They had woodcarvers, lasso lessons, a big stage where we saw a high school choir perform, and more Disney characters than you could shake a stick at. (There were just about as many characters as there were kids, so each kid got loads of attention.) I've heard that Billy Hill and the Hillbillies are moving there for the summer, so I'm sure the area is going to get a lot more crowded.

I have to second Riverbelle Terrace and the park next to the New Orleans Square railroad stop. The park is shady and has benches. The Aladdin Oasis is new to me...but next trip I am going to try it after getting my lunch at Bengal Barbecue!

There is a pretty little walkway off to the right before castle bridge. Little waterways and flowers behind you and ducks walking around. A good place for a breather.
And yes, Animation bldg in DCA!

There's a small passage way from Frontierland to Main St/Fantasyland area. It's grown over with trees, has a few benches and almost no one knows about it. DS has taken many a nap while sitting in his stroller in this quiet, shady spot. Its hard to describe exactly where it is...but look at a map, it's just down from the old Plaza Stage.

Another favorite spot is the far right hand corner in front of Its a Small World. There's a cement bench going the entire length and we like to sit with an ice cream and people watch.

I liked sitting on the benches underneath the silly symphony swings. Nice, cool and quiet.

If you want seclusion then Carnation Plaza is the place.

Sadly, this is a thing of the past now. But I agree it was a wonderful place.

Our favorite places are actually the seating area at French Market (mint julep) and behind BTRR but the water.

Paradise Gardens at DCA. There is shade, live music, and BEER!

Fantasia Gardens looks like a quiet spot -- it's the old motorboat cruise area.

There are tables and chairs and very few people ever seem to go there.

Where exactly IS this area?? I love sitting on the cement bench in front of IASW but I've never seen this quiet spot. Where do you go to enter into it? Looks like its right on the water...

Holy Buckets! I know EXACTLY where that is and I've passed it a million times- just assumed it was a little vendor kiosk deal.

And I think I've actually ridden the motorboats that used to be there....
